Webmasters › How Do I Speed Up My Blogger Website? My Experience And What Worked by Nik024(op): 5:58pm On Jul 30
Hello everyone,

I have been running a small tech blog for some time now and I was struggling badly with page speed. My Blogger site was taking more than 6 seconds to load and my Google rankings were suffering because of it.

I tried many things and after a lot of research and testing, I finally got my load time down to under 2 seconds. Here is what actually worked for me:

1. Switched to a lightweight template
Most default Blogger templates are bloated with unnecessary code. Switching to a minimal, fast-loading template made the biggest difference for me.

2. Compressed all images before uploading
Large images were silently killing my speed. I now compress every image before uploading.

3. Removed unnecessary third-party widgets
Social media widgets, chat plugins, and fancy sliders all add extra load time. I removed everything that was not truly needed.

4. Used lazy loading for images
This means images only load when a visitor scrolls to them, which makes the initial page load much faster.

I documented my full experience and the exact steps I followed on my blog at niktheblogger.com for anyone who wants the complete details.

Now my question to fellow webmasters here — what has worked for YOU when it comes to speeding up your website? I would love to learn more tricks from experienced people here.
