Good evening my people.

Please I want to find out which app is best in the preparation of a theory driving test in the UK.

Also, please which areas in London have a relatively high success rate in the practical driving test.

Please, someone can just walk me through it. I have the provisional already, and I want to have the full license latest in 3 months time.

pansophist:
If Japa also includes other stable African countries, then it is achievable by almost all Nigerians. Fun fact. Only Brazil is bigger in landmass than all the 28 countries in the EU.

So Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

Now add other non-EU countries like Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Albania, Andorra, Georgia, Kosovo, Ukraine, Turkey, Monaco, Moldova, and Brazil is still bigger than all of them plus the above EU countries combined.

The world is way bigger than the West. The West is a small place. Ecowas for example is bigger than all EU countries in landmass combined.

Of course, I understand that landmass means nothing without opportunities, but my point is that Earth is a freaking huge place, and one would be missing out on only concentrating on the West for migration.

I don't even want to add Asia, South America, Oceania, Africa, the Caribbeans, the Pacific, the Middle East, or Russia, the largest country in the world. Japa should not be synonymous with the West. Go to other places. God created heaven and earth, not Africa and the West.
@pansophist

Hi Pansophist, hope you're well bro.

I sent you a DM on nairaland so as to be able to send an email to you. Pls accept, I've got some good news

Thank you!!!

Look into Revolut bank or starling. Monzo bank is very difficult to get as a student now.

For jobs, I can only advise you to prepare your CV, ask questions and apply to many job sites as you can.

God bless you.

Thanks a lot.

Surprisingly I'm just seeing this message right now. All the issues raised have been sorted long ago.

https://revolut.com/referral/?referral-code=peterfped!OCT1-24-AR-H1

for jobs though
20hrs. probably Amazon warehouses this period, but that's like maybe £1k a month undecided
you can try other agencies like maidtoclean.
When people comment just as you've done, first we know their level of thinking. More importantly we know how far they've gone. Most importantly, we definitely know they lack experiential knowledge.

There are certain things I just can't say online publicly but I tell you the land has been very good to me

Hiw can u come to the UK without funds to sustain you for at least 3 to 4 monthshuh When we tell you it's not easy in the UK you people will never listen. Don't worry your eye go soon clear.
Yes you're right, I got one already. Thanks for your input.

Where is your location?

Search for seasonal roles. Most stores/supermarkets are recruiting for Christmas/seasonal roles.

Good luck.

I've been told most students start with jobs like cleaning, care assistant, event assistants, kitchen porter, so that's all I've been doing too with different CVs tailored to the different roles.

Any word from you pls?

Good day everyone,

For those newly arriving in the UK, pls help me with my questions:

What other documents are you expected to arrive with, apart from CAS and your passport?

Can I book a hotel without paying until I arrive?

How true is it that you can be asked to show your POF at the POE, if true do you show them afresh from your bank app OR you're expected to come with the most recent bank statement of that day??

Is there free WiFi at the airport, if not then how do you connect to the internet to show bank statement since you've not been cleared and stamped in before getting a SIM ??

Thank you very much

naivasha:
I suggest you do this in Lagos. The Port Health office is near the airport toll gate. I did mine about two weeks ago. It cost N3,050. I think I spent about 30-45 minutes. They advise that you should eat before going to take the vaccination. Also, your travel date should be ten days or more from the day you get get vaccinated.

Port Health or something like that. It's near the airport toll gate. You can get the certificate there. Get there early to avoid unnecessary delay.

The flight ticket states that the passenger requires a yellow fever vaccination certificate. Pls is that to be gotten at Lagos Airport or at Kigali?

October 2nd or 8th, Rwandan airline will fly from Lagos to London, transiting Kigali for two hours.

You get to check in 23kg x2 luggages. It cost 375 euros on way.

@pansophist pls I've been struggling to pay for the flight with my GTB naira MasterCard debit card since the price was stated in naira, but to my greatest surprise it's been having issues, requesting for credit card billing address.

Is there anyone who has successfully paid for the flight, can you pls share how you did it?

From my experience, flights on Mondays are the cheapest. Avoid Friday to Sunday. Check all the dates and compare the cost.

You can check Emirates, Qatar, Ethopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Rwanda Air. I would recommend Qatar and Emirates - if you don't mind the long route. They are efficient and you don't need transit visa. The airports in Dubai and Doha are beautiful and will add to your flying experience. If you fly to Manchester, you might get to fly on the Airbus A380 - the world's largest commercial passenger aircraft. Beautiful plane smiley

Avoid Air Moroc and Egypt Air.

You need transit visa for KLM, Lufthansa, Air France...

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will be very expensive. Buy your ticket as soon as you can.

Hope this helps. Good luck!
Thank you very much @cashmadam for the detailed information. God bless you for your input.

Qatar(long trip but good airline), if you can afford BA or Virgin, Turkish airline(they have a sales currently on if you check their website),klm / Airfrance(but you’ll require transit visa if you don’t have a valid U.S. or Canada visa)
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate.

Compare prices for different airlines on sites like wakanow.

Avoid airlines that connect through EU nations like France, Netherlands etc as that will require you to get a transit visa.
Thanks for your input, I really appreciate.

Good day everyone.

Pls I need the input of people with experience on this matter:

As an international student travelling for the first time from Lagos to London:

Which Airline will you advise I go with, based on affordability and smooth flight experience without stories like missing luggage etc?

How many days/weeks is best to book ahead?

Which day of the week is flight at it's cheapest?

Pls note that my program will start on 10th October.

Good morning. If you do that, you will need to count 28 days all over again before you apply for your visa
Thanks for your response @Cashmadam

Sorry to border you madam. If you pull out funds from friday to Monday which is just 3 days at most, is there a problem with that pls?

I mean POF matures on 28th day which is on a Tuesday, still waiting for CAS till Thursday 30th day, can you just print statement covering 30 days, pull out the funds 23:59pm on Thursday to put back next Monday?

If CAS drops on Friday, can you then apply for visa on Monday or Tuesday without any issue?

Good day all.

Pls to anyone who recently paid in August 2024 for student visa and IHS fee for a 1 year MSc programme....

How much did you pay?

How did you pay?

I'll really appreciate a good and quick response
Good day everyone,

Pls I need the input of gurus in the house.

My POF has matured but school is really slow on issuing CAS. Can I go ahead to print my matured POF statement and then temporarily pull out the money until CAS is issued then I can put back the money to apply for visa?

Good day everyone,

Pls I need clarification on some points here.

I've paid part of my tuition already. I'm on the POF stage at the moment, and I have some questions pls.

My POF is in 2 different accounts, 1 in naira and the other in pounds. I hope this isn't abnormal. After I print out a statement of account on the 30th day, do I have to leave the whole sum there for another month while waiting for the visa decision , or can I use part of the money to pay for IHS?

Pls advise me on the limit of credit and debit amount. How much is the highest I can credit my POF(naira and pounds) while still nurturing it before maturity?

My work in the past 8years isn't really related to the course I've just been offered by the university. Is it ok to go with that or should I adjust my CV to show that my current job is related to my offered course?

Is there a possibility of an interview before a UK student visa is granted?
