In preparation for the Nigeria – Korea Economic Forum, members of the Local Organizing committee and officials of Trade Nigeria will be meeting with representatives of the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), to fashion out best ways to make the event a success....

The meeting according to the President of Trade Nigeria, Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, will set the ball rolling for the event scheduled for December 5th to 12th, 2019 in South Korea.

The Nigeria-Korea Economic Forum which is the second edition of the Trade Nigeria business and trade mission will take place in Seoul, South Korea from the 5th to 12th December 2019.

This meeting convenes against a backdrop of significant economic growth, progress in reducing poverty among Nigerians and Asians. This year’s forum is built on: Improving trade between countries: Deepening Investment Partnerships and also enlightening on the need for trade.

The Nigeria-Korea Economic Forum falls under the umbrella of the Nigeria –Asia Joint Trade Mission by Trade Nigeria Organization. Trade Nigeria, a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and a Private, Public Partnership based International bilateral trade organization in partnership with Trade Asia and Nigeria Singapore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, that works with the Government of Nigeria through the Ministry of Trade, Investment, Commerce and Industry saddled with the responsibility of promoting trade and investment internationally with major focus on making Nigeria an investor hub.

Trade Nigeria in partnership with Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja has released a plan to mark Nigeria’s diamond age in a 60-day celebration billed for 6 countries.

The event which is tagged ‘Nigeria @ 60 Cultural Exchange’ will be taking place in 6 Common Wealth Countries with the aim of celebrating Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage in those countries.

Scheduled for the United Kingdom, United States of America, Singapore, Canada, Hong Kong and Austria the plan is to have the event lick off on September 1, 2020 according to Hon. Nwabueze Buchi George, the Executive Director of Trade Nigeria.

According to him, the event which is in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abuja, will go a long way to change the narrative in Nigeria.

“Our cultures are often tagged primitive by our people, hence we rarely appreciate what we have and who we have, but if we can make it an export commodity, we will not only come to love it, but people in other countries will come to embrace them as who we are and what we must be known for”, he said.

Buchi George hailed the contributions of the Office of the Secretary to Federal Government towards the event, adding that “such supports can help change everything”

“We want to set a standard, we want to celebrate Nigeria’s Diamond Age in a special way and also create a better relationship between Nigeria and these other countries.”

“The world deserves to see what Nigeria beyond today’s narratives; we can change all that only when we truly show the world who we are, what we have and what we are made of”

The award ceremony which is part of the Nigeria - Asia Business Forum holding synonymously with Nigeria - Asia Joint Trade Mission and Business Delegation, and Commerce to Asia 2019/2020, will afford Nigerians in Singapore the opportunity to connect with their root, as well as have Singaporeans experience the reach cultural heritage of Nigeria.

With the Independence Day edition billed for Singapore from Wednesday 2nd to Sunday 6th of, October 2019, there will also be another edition of the event between December 5th and 12th 2019, in South Korea.
