I changed my surname from my maiden name to my husband’s surname two months before taking the Goethe A1 exam. However, I registered for the exam with my maiden surname because that was the name on my international passport at the time. I am now in the process of obtaining a new passport with my husband’s surname.

Do you think the earlier name change affects the validity of the Goethe certificate, which was issued in my maiden name? Since the certificate was issued three months after the name change, will it still be valid? Should I swear a new affidavit with a more recent date to avoid any issues?

Please, for those who have done change of name and needed to change their maiden name to their husband’s surname on the passport, does the new passport have two passport numbers (the number of the previous passport and the number of the new one), or just one passport number (an entirely new number for the new passport)?

Good evening, everyone. Please, I have a question regarding change of name. I applied for family reunion using my maiden surname, which is the name on the passport I used for the application. However, I have now changed my surname to my husband’s name.

Do you think it’s advisable to obtain a new international passport bearing my current (married) name, even though my present passport is still valid for another 20 months? Also, can the visa be issued in my new name if I submit the new passport?
