It's understandable if All Bidiah emanates from Sects and that's also why All Bidiah Is Kufru

Those who associated partner with Allah are sects. Allah has made it clear that as long as you belong to a sect... you are associating partners with HIM

Ar-Rum 30:31

۞مُنِيبِينَ إِلَيۡهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَلَا تَكُونُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ

English - Sahih International

[Adhere to it], turning in repentance to Him, and fear Him and establish prayer and do not be of those who associate others with Allāh





Ar-Rum 30:32

مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمۡ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعࣰاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

English - Sahih International

[Or] of those who have divided their religion and become sects, every faction rejoicing in what it has.[1]

<h2>The Command to adhere to Tawhid</h2>
Allah says: `so set your face and persevere in the religion which Allah has prescribed for you, the worship of Allah Alone, the religion of Ibrahim, to which Allah has guided you and which He has perfected for you with the utmost perfection. In this manner, you will also adhere to the sound Fitrah with which He created His creation.' Allah created His creation to recognize Him and know His Tawhid, and that there is no God except Him, as we have already seen when discussing the Ayah,

وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَى أَنفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتَ بِرَبِّكُمْ قَالُواْ بَلَى

(and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord" They said: "Yes!..." (7:172). And according to a Hadith, Allah said,

«إِنِّي خَلَقْتُ عِبَادِي حُنَفَاءَ، فَاجْتَالَتْهُمُ الشَّيَاطِينُ عَنْ دِينِهِم»

("I created my servants Hunafa (i.e., monotheists), then the Shayatin misled them from their religion." We will see in the Hadiths that Allah created His creation with the Fitrah of Islam, then among some of them there emerged corrupt religions such as Judaism, Christianity and Zoroastrianism.

لاَ تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ

(No change let there be in Allah's Khalq,) Some of them said that this means, `do not change the creation of Allah, for if you do, you will divert the people away from the Fitrah with which He created them.' So it is instructive; just as His saying:

وَمَن دَخَلَهُ كَانَ ءَامِناً

(And whoever enters it, he is safe) This is a good and correct interpretation. Others said that this means, Allah made all of His creation equal, all of them have the same sound Fitrah and are by nature upright; they are all born with this nature and there is no disparity among people in this regard. Ibn `Abbas, Ibrahim An-Nakha`i, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Mujahid, `Ikrimah, Qatadah, Ad-Dahhak and Ibn Zayd said that the Ayah:

لاَ تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ

(No change let there be in Allah's Khalq) means, the religion of Allah. Al-Bukhari said:

لاَ تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ

(No change let there be in Allah's Khalq,) "It means, the religion of Allah, and the religion, and the Fitrah is Islam." Then he reported that Abu Hurayrah said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

«مَا مِنْ مَوْلُودٍ يُولَدُ إِلَّا عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ أَوْ يُنَصِّرَانِهِ أَوْ يُمَجِّسَانِهِ،كَمَا تُنْتَجُ الْبَهِيمَةُ بَهِيمَةً جَمْعَاءَ، هَلْ تُحِسُّونَ فِيهَا مِنْ جَدْعَاءَ؟»

(No child is born except in a state of Fitrah, then his parents make him a Jew or a Christian or a Zoroastrian, just as each animal produces a perfect animal like itself -- do you see any among them that are born mutilated) then the narrator (Abu Hurayrah) said (recite this Ayah),

فِطْرَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِى فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لاَ تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ

(Allah's Fitrah with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Allah's Khalq, that is the straight religion.)" This was also recorded by Muslim.

ذلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ

(that is the straight religion,) means, adherence to the Shari`ah and the sound Fitrah is the true, straight religion.

وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ

(but most men know not.) means, most people do not know this and they deviate far astray from it, as Allah says:

وَمَآ أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ

(And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.) (12:103)

وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِى الاٌّرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ

(And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you far away from Allah's path) (6:116).

مُّنِيبِينَ إِلَيْهِ

(turning in repentance to Him) Ibn Zayd and Ibn Jurayj said, "This means, returning to Him."

وَاتَّقُوهُ

(and have Taqwa of Him means, fear Him and remember that He is always watching.

وَأَقِيمُواْ الصَّلَوةَ

(and perform the Salah), which is the greatest act of worship.)

وَلاَ تَكُونُواْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

(and be not of the idolators.) Be of those who single out Allah, devoting their worship sincerely for Him alone, not anyone or anything other than Him. Ibn Jarir recorded that Yazid bin Abi Maryam said: "`Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, passed by Mu`adh bin Jabal and asked, `What is the foundation of this Ummah' Mu`adh said, `Three things, and they are the things that will bring salvation: Al-Ikhlas (doing a deed for Allah alone), which is the Fitrah with which Allah created mankind; Salah, which is the thing that tells a believer apart from a disbeliever; and obedience, which is protection.' `Umar said: `You have spoken the truth.
<h2>Splitting into Sects and the Saved Sect</h2>
His saying:

مِنَ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعاً كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ

(Of those who Farraqu Dinahum (split up their religion), and became sects, each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.) means, do not be of the idolators who split up their religion, i.e., changed it by believing in parts of it and rejecting other parts. Some scholars read this as Faraqu Dinahum, meaning "neglected their religion and left it behind them." These are like the Jews, Christians, Zoroastrians, idol worshippers and all the followers of false religions, besides the followers of Islam, as Allah says:

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ فَرَّقُواْ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُواْ شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى اللَّهِ

(Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects, you have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allah) (6:159). The followers of the religions before us had differences of opinions and split into false sects, each group claiming to be following the truth. This Ummah too has split into sects, all of which are misguided apart from one, which is Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jama`ah, those who adhere to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and what was followed by the first generations, the Companions, their followers, and the Imams of the Muslims of earlier and later times. In his Mustadrak, Al-Hakim recorded that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked which of the sects was the saved sect and he said:

«مَا أَنَا عَلَيْهِ وَأَصْحَابِي»

(What I and my Companions are upon.)

The foundation of Bidiah, the father and mother of bidiah is factions, sects, hizbiyas, groups, jamaaat. They're the ones breeding Bidiah since time immemorial and they're still breeding it till now.

Al-Mu'minun 23:52

وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةࣰ وَٰحِدَةࣰ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱتَّقُونِ

English - Sahih International

And indeed this, your religion, is one religion,[1] and I am your Lord, so fear Me."



Al-Mu'minun 23:53

فَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡ زُبُرࣰاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَيۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ

English - Sahih International

But they [i.e., the people] divided their religion among them into portions [i.e., sects] - each faction, in what it has,[1] rejoicing.

"حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شَبِيبِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ، قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجُ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ مَنْ شَهِدَ الْجَنَازَةَ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهَا فَلَهُ قِيرَاطٌ، وَمَنْ شَهِدَ حَتَّى تُدْفَنَ كَانَ لَهُ قِيرَاطَانِ ‏"‏‏.‏ قِيلَ وَمَا الْقِيرَاطَانِ قَالَ ‏"‏ مِثْلُ الْجَبَلَيْنِ الْعَظِيمَيْنِ ‏"‏‏.‏"

Narrated Abu Huraira:
that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Whoever attends the funeral procession till he offers the funeral prayer for it, will get a reward equal to one Qirat, and whoever accompanies it till burial, will get a reward equal to two Qirats." It was asked, "What are two Qirats?" He replied, "Like two huge mountains."

All these and other practices different from the hadiths is bidiah and most are introduced by the SUFIS

Let's take a look at some of the famous bidiah.

Aqeeqah (Naming Ceremony)

Let's read what prophet Muhammad has said about that..


Hadith

"حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ كُلُّ غُلاَمٍ رَهِينَةٌ بِعَقِيقَتِهِ تُذْبَحُ عَنْهُ يَوْمَ سَابِعِهِ وَيُحْلَقُ وَيُسَمَّى ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَيُسَمَّى أَصَحُّ كَذَا قَالَ سَلاَّمُ بْنُ أَبِي مُطِيعٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ وَإِيَاسُ بْنُ دَغْفَلٍ وَأَشْعَثُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ ‏.‏ قَالَ ‏"‏ وَيُسَمَّى ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَرَوَاهُ أَشْعَثُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ وَيُسَمَّى ‏"‏ ‏.‏"

Narrated Samurah ibn Jundub:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: A boy is in pledge for his Aqiqah, Sacrifice is made for him on the seventh day, his head is shaved and he is given name.

Abu Dawud said: The word wa yusamma is sounder as narrated by Salam b. Abi Muti' from Qatadah, and narrated by Iyas b. Daghfal and Ash'ath from al-Hassan who narrated wa yusamma (and he is given a name).

"حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ، أَنَّهُمْ دَخَلُوا عَلَى حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَسَأَلُوهَا عَنِ الْعَقِيقَةِ، فَأَخْبَرَتْهُمْ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَمَرَهُمْ عَنِ الْغُلاَمِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافِئَتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَأُمِّ كُرْزٍ وَبُرَيْدَةَ وَسَمُرَةَ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَأَنَسٍ وَسَلْمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَحَفْصَةُ هِيَ بِنْتُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ ‏.‏"

Narrated Yusuf bin Mahak:
They entered upon Hafsah bint 'Abdur-Rahman to ask her about the 'Aqiqah. She informed them that 'Aishah had informed her, that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ordered them that for a boy, two sheep were sufficient, and for a girl one sheep.

That's all about aqeeqah..

Anything that's different from this is bidha.. You can now see that uncountable things has been used to replace this sunnah of aqeeqah..

Any naming ceremony done in any way aside from this way is either to copy the pagan religion (traditional religion) or Christianity or Civilisation trend.

Imagine the expenses, the stress and all people go through in naming ceremony because they didn't follow the sunnah in naming ceremony.


The one you are familiar with in Yoruba land or Hausa land and others where alfa will be present, where people will eat and other stuffs are actually made law by the SUFIS. Imagine, people turned their backs on Allah and follow the SuFis

Sunnah simply means ibaadah (act of worship) ..which is in contrary to what people think it is. . People think Sunnah simply means NOT COMPULSORY. That's absolutely misconception about the meaning of Sunnah. Once you hear something is Sunnah, you should be eager to do it, start doing it, then ask if it's compulsory or not compulsory. Most of what people know to be sunnah (not compulsory) are actually compulsory and declining to do them as an act of worship is gravely dangerous for them.

Bidiah is the opposite of sunnah. Sunnah is the rules and regulations laid down by Allah for human beings through prophet Muhammad and prophet taught it all to his sahabahs WHILE bidiah is the replacement of of the rules and regulations laid down by Allah for human beings through prophet Muhammad WITH THE RULES AND REGULATIONS LAID DOWN BY MEN (men ideologies mostly by SECTS leader and others by individuals)


Can you now see that bidiah is extremely dangerous and we must all stay away from it because the aftermath is the nullification of one's Islam.



For the birth of one bidiah, it's the death of several Sunnah. People are so used to bidiah that sunnah is seen as something outrageous, outdated and insane. In reality, bidiah is Expensive, Stressful, Demanding and it renders the doers deed useless

At-Taubah 9:64

يَحْذَرُ ٱلْمُنَٰفِقُونَ أَن تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُورَةٌ تُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا فِى قُلُوبِهِمْۚ قُلِ ٱسْتَهْزِءُوٓا۟ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مُخْرِجٌ مَّا تَحْذَرُونَ

The hypocrites are apprehensive lest a sūrah be revealed about them, informing them of[1] what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allāh will expose that which you fear."



At-Taubah 9:65

وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُۚ قُلْ أَبِٱللَّهِ وَءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَرَسُولِهِۦ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِءُونَ

And if you ask them, they will surely say, "We were only conversing and playing." Say, "Is it Allāh and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?"



At-Taubah 9:66

لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا۟ قَدْ كَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَٰنِكُمْۚ إِن نَّعْفُ عَن طَآئِفَةٍ مِّنكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَآئِفَةًۢ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ مُجْرِمِينَ

Make no excuse; you have disbelieved [i.e., rejected faith] after your belief[b][/b]. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.

Hadith

"حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ أَبِي سَهْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، يَقُولُ شَرُّ قَتْلَى قُتِلُوا تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ وَخَيْرُ قَتْلَى مَنْ قَتَلُوا كِلاَبُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ قَدْ كَانَ هَؤُلاَءِ مُسْلِمِينَ فَصَارُوا كُفَّارًا ‏.‏ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ هَذَا شَىْءٌ تَقُولُهُ قَالَ بَلْ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ ‏.‏"

Abu Ghalib narrated that Abu Umamah said:
"(The Khawarij) are the worst of the slain who are killed under heaven, and the best of the slain are those who were killed by them. Those (Khawarij) are the dogs of Hell. Those people were Muslims but they became disbelievers." I said: "O Abu Umamah, is that your opinion?" He said: "Rather I heard it from the Messenger of Allah."

A Muslim can in turn become a Kafir. Someone who's a Muslim can become a Kafir if such person did something that nullifies his or Islam.
