The estimated budget for this movie was pegged at over 400 Million Naira according to the movie Director, Steve Gukas. You are probably wondering how such an amount was spent on a Nollywood movie. Well this is not just any other Nollywood movie. With the release of 93 days across cinemas Nationwide, a new standard has definitely been set for Nollywood Movie Productions. This is a movie every Nigerian should watch, mainly because one way or the other we can relate and remember the events, panic and scare that surrounded the Ebola outbreak in Lagos, Nigeria at the time. Casting: According to the Director, he knew this movie would either sink or swim on the performance of the cast hence the need to bring in talents for the movie. They all brought on their A Game and delivered powerfully. Bimbo Akintola’s performance was nothing short of absolute brilliance. Bimbo gives a tour de force performance, portraying the role of Dr.Stella Ameyo Adadevoh. If you thought Danny Glover’s accent would have been an issue, then you need to see how he got into character portraying Dr. Benjamin Ohiaeri (Chief Medical Director of the First Consultant hospital) Wouldn’t you say there was some resemblance between the two of them? In terms of casting majority of the actors looked like the characters they were portraying. https://www.nollyconnect.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Danny-glover.jpg Veteran Nollywood Actor, Keppy Ekpeyong proves to us that like fine wine, he gets better with age. Keppy plays the role of Patrick Sawyer, a Liberian-American lawyer who was notable for being the index case for the introduction of Ebola virus disease into Nigeria. Keppy gives us a very insightful view into the life of Mr Sawyer before he passed away. Somkele Iyamah, is one rising actor who is bound to break new grounds and serve as an inspiration to aspiring Nollywood actors. She plays the role of Dr. Ada Igonoh one of the survivor of the Ebola outbreak. If you want to know how Dr. Ada survived the Ebola outbreak, then you need to see Somekele in action as she effortlessly shows us Dr. Ada’s fighting zeal and determination to beat the virus. The rest of the cast like I earlier noted brought depth and capacity while delivering their various roles. Story Line and Development/ dialogue. In 93 days the Director carefully carries us along detailing every step and action taken from the outbreak to the contamination of the deadly disease. Although the movie is about two hours long, every moment is intriguing and riveting. The dialogue between the cast was also very convincing. One can deduce that the cast bonded well on set and were able to synchronize while delivering their dialogues. Movie Directing Steve Gukas is arguably one of Nollywood’s best movie Directors at the moment. When you are done watching this movie, it hits you that only someone who is a pace setter like Steve will stop at nothing to deliver an impressive job. The direction on this movie is definitely of international standard and will appeal to all kind of audience. Cinematography/ Picture Quality. The picture quality and Cinematography is pretty impressive and must be commended. Lagos and its environs was beautifully captured. Despite the challenges movie producer go through in shooting in a metropolis like Lagos, 93 days did a fantastic job with the Cinematography. Be sure to check out 93 days in cinemas near you. AY has released the trailer for his new movie titled A Trip To Jamaica. And is here again to take your money. Hate it him or love him, there is no taking out the fact that he knows what his audience want. It’s been almost two years since his last movie 30 days in Atlanta. Which is said to be the highest grossing Nigerian movie in cinemas. Ay is someone I like to describe as a fast thinker and like I earlier said knows what his audience want. Without further ado, here is why I think a trip to Jamaica is going to be another hit. AY Is The King Of Publicity When it comes to publicising his events and shows I think no one does it better than AY. He aggressively uses all the medium available to push out his gigs. You can be rest assured that he’ll lay his hands on every available platform to publicise his events. He Cuts Across All Classes Let’s agree that the cinema culture is still elitist at this stage, but AY seems to have broken than culture for his last movie, 30 days in Atlanta. I personally witnessed a large crowd of people from a certain area come out to watch this movie. This class of people ordinarily wouldn’t spend a dime on seeing a movie in the cinema, because to them it is luxury. It was the first time ever in a cinema hall for quite a few of them. People Want To Have A Good Laugh The average Nigerian really just wants to have a good laugh and ease up the tension of the everyday hustle and bustle. This is another reason why i think AY is going to cash out with his latest movie. What are your thoughts?

queenfav:No it not "The arbitration" but "93 Days". When it comes out in September it's definitely going to have these Nollywood producer/ directors have a re-think about their career path..lol. You should check out the trailer if you haven't.i You re right about Eloise, i found myself googling up who this pretty lady was while watching thue movie |
queenfav:Haha Oscars? Hopefully we will get there soon enough. The plot of the movie wasn't all that intriguing to me. But i was just marvelled by the determination and commitment on Kunle's part to get this movie done, despite what pirates did to his last movie October first. PS: There is the new Nollywood movie that had it's trailer released about a week ago, trust me the production on this movie is going to have you marvelled. Any idea what this movie is? |
waxxydude:Damn right about how he captured these countries. Absolutely brilliant.. |
homesteady:Awesome! Let's know your thoughts about the movie tomorrow? |
The anticipation and hype leading to the cinema premiere of kunle Afolayan's latest movie The CEO is finally over, as it premiered in cinemas nation wide over the weekend. The movie which has been described as a Pan African movie was shot in five African countries. To avoid feeding you spoilers we would give a brief review of the movie and hopefully expect your own thoughts on the movie. Kunle did an absolute brilliant job in terms of cinematography and capturing the beauty of these various African countries. The picture quality will definitely match up to International standards. The cast also delivered effortlessly as they interpreted their roles professionally. It goes to show that whoever was responsible for the casting did so thoroughly. The plot and story line of the movie was likewise enjoyable and flowed seamlessly. The movie had it's plot twist which hopefully you'll find out when you see the movie. Kunle has pleaded with pirates to this time have mercy on him as he borrowed 500million to finance the movie. We hope that this plea doesn't fall on deaf ears and they allow him to recoup his profit. This movie is definitely a must see and we are going to give it an 8/10. Have you seen the movie? What are your thought? Would you recommend the movie to other movie lovers? GIDI BLUES: [img][/img] Have you seen the movie? It's showing in most cinemas across the country. The reason i opened this thread and hopefully consequent threads is to give a simple and short review of the movie( With No Spoilers), the goal here is to help someone else to hopefully make a right call on whether or not to see the movie. Let me start off by giving my own short review The acting was solid from all the cast and i think they all gave it their best shots. The picture quality and cinematography was equally brilliant and nicely done. The plot of the movie is your typical boy meets girl and found love where he never expected. I think the the capturing of the scenery and environment in Lagos is what i was particularly impressed with. If i was to rate it over 10.. I'll give it a 6/10 PS: Hauwa Allahubura is a really pretty lady and i couldn't take my eyes of her. However, i think the make up was to heavy on her face in different scenes of the movie.

If you really want to be in Nollywood movies you have to make acting your job. Take acting classes, audition for small plays in your area; build a resume and reputation in your theatre community; pay for good head shots. Casting is the selecting of actors to play the various roles. Sometimes a part is written with a particular actor in mind, but usually not. The casting director can play a significant role in the eventual success or failure of the movie or TV show. This Post will guide you on how to successfully audition and get picked for a movie in Nollywood. 1.Understand what the Movie audition is looking for To begin with read and comprehend the audition notice correctly to make certain that you are trying out for a role that fits your acting style, age and personality. You don’t want to get there probably after travelling hours and then finding out that the audition is for kids from ages 10-15. This can be depressing and frustrating at the same time. Do make sure your match the criteria for the audition. 2 . Arrive Early At The Venue You should always arrive at least thirty to one hour before the commencement of the audition. This gives you ample time so that you can relax and get comfortable with the casting crew by making small talks. 3. Do your Research About The Company and Their Works Know the company, their work, their ethic and their approach. (So many actors audition for my company who have no idea what we do and what their aesthetic is.) See this as a chance to explore, experience and express. 4. Prepare Your Headshot and Profile for the Audition Headshots are so important for actors and you should make sure to follow these tips .No black and white photos. You MUST look like yourself. If your headshot is overly retouched, it’s an instant “no.” Be sure to take both outdoor and indoor photos. In addition, it is important to present images that convey the qualities of the types of roles you’d like to perform. Submit appropriately, which means you need to have more than one headshot (if you want to keep your options open). 5. Enter The Room With Confidence Build your confidence by performing in front of people, saying what you like doing what you want. Remember you are in media world here no pain no gain rule works. So enhance your creativity to others and show them what you are and where you belong to. 6. Network & Socialize Make sure to meet new and fellow actors who are there for the audition. Once you meet and connect with someone, be in touch regularly—and not just when you need something. It will also come in handy when next there is a movie audition you are unaware off. 7. Get as good as you can at the craft of acting This includes taking classes, befriending actors and filmmakers, create opportunities to practice. Be very honest with yourself about your strengths and weaknesses; never blame “the system” when you don’t get parts. Experience is key. The director and studio want to know you have a history of showing up and being good. 8. Learn the basics of film production How does a film actually get made? What separates bad film-making from good film-making? This gives you leverage over a newbie who has no prior experience. It would help build vocabulary for yourself, when next film terms are flying around you can meaningfully contribute to such discussions. 9 Be Professional Do not ever take it personally if you are not casted or called back. They may not have been looking for someone who looks like you, talks like you, or perhaps acts like you. There are some people who don’t fit in certain parts. Thank the Casting Directors and look forward to your next audition 10 Get on-screen credits and Be Ready To Work for Free if Need Be Money shouldn’t be your only driving force when breaking into Nollywood. You should have it at the back of your mind that you are building your resume when doing this jobs for free. It sucks, no doubt considering you have to transport and feed yourself at the same time. Always remember that nothing good comes easy |
