We just ordered for a couple battleborns Lifepo4 12v 100ah batteries and they are in transit to Nigeria.

I must say that I'm very very excited at the thought of having a battery that delivers 100% of it's rated capacity over a long period of time.

I will keep the house posted when they arrive and on how they perform and if indeed Lithium is the future.

From the way I see it, even at current prices, they may already be more cost effective than their lead acid counterparts, especially the ones from Nigeria.

yeah ph is terribe during the rainy season, @niyi, would not understand, even if u oversize the panellls 2x , it may likely not sustain u for 5 days straight bad weather unless you oversize the bank again 4x

The issue is that batteries in Nigeria in general are terrible, anyways our problems are about solved.

The quoted price of US$999 is too high for that capacity and chemistry. If you are a DIY person, I suggest you CALB LifePo4 batteries instead.

For the capacity of 1200WH (24V 50AH) you require 8units of CALB 3.2v 50AH batteries. You can easily get a 50AH CALB LiFePo4 battery at US$60 each or less. The CALB batteries are also rated at 3000-5000 cycles at 80% DOD.

Hmmm, Just saw this now, would have to do some more research into this.

Think these calbs would need an external bms, something I'm no expert at now, while the battleborns have a built in bms and does all battery protection inside - over charge, over discharge, current limiting and so on.

The prices of those calbs look appealing though i must say.

Either way, my replacement pack MUST be LifePO4. We just spent about 350,000 naira on a 48v 200ah lead acid setup from naija and again, these batteries could not even make it up to a year. At this rate, it's best to pay that 700,000 once and get a 5-10 year battery, even if the capacity might be low or just adequate.

Not sure about landing, but the price in the U.S is $950, but they only weigh a third of the equivalent of lead acid, so shipping will be way lower

They are claiming 3000-5000 cycles at 80% DOD and 100A max discharge current, sounds too good to be true, but I guess we'll see.

I really don't know why the HDMI port isn't working bro.

Bought this unit used from UK, but it had that issue from day one.

apart from the boot up issue, you can't output through HDMI only component. The HDMI port is still there, but doesn't seem to work.

No HDMI output, only component

system takes 60 seconds to boot up.
