I agree ko si big deal, which is why i'm considering moving back, to be like those ppl. Thanks btw. |
I actually believe i can get a job without involving those families because i believe my CV speaks volume and btw i've friends whose families can also get me a job in case i find it difficult. |
Thanks Sky-walker, much appreciated!! Btw, my parents are in Nigeria but all of my siblings are here. My parents did everything in the good times to make sure all of us study abroad and out of Nigeria before their business model collapsed, which i envy them because it was as if they knew things was gonna be difficult for them in the future, so they invested all they had to send us to school abroad. I really thank God they did, because now they don't even work anymore even though they're both under under 55 because all their children work for FTSE 100 and Dow listed compaines even the youngest 22yr. I pray i'm as lucky as them when i grow-up. I'm sure some of you would wonder how they're so young with grown-up kids, they married very very early, even my mum is not 50yrs yet and she doesn't work anymore LOL!!!! You can't blame her since she has Kids giving her 100K per month Ibime, are you saying i'll get less or more ? |
Is it worth moving back to Nigeria ![]() I work for one of the biggest investment management bank in the world(based on AUM). I currently earn about N600K monthly after TAX but excluding bonus, i was suppose to get promoted to assistant manager in Feb 2009 but the bank has a freeze both on pay and promotion until 2010. By July 2009 i would have MSc Finance plus 3 years experience. BTW I'm between 23-27yrs old Now, I'm tired of what I'm doing, guess because i didn't get my promotion/pay increase. and it's not gonna happen soon, i seriously want to change my career path and since I'll be completing my MSc finance in July09(part-time), it should open new doors. I'm seriously considering moving back to Nigeria which my parents are against because they believe it better for me to stay here and that they believe i would have a better future here. About getting a job in Nigeria, i don't believe its a big deal since I've the experience and qualifications and also have families who can get me a job over the phone, but my parents don't want those families involved in my life, they believe they're evil even though most of them are extremely wealthy. About staying here, I'll easily get a job that will pay me N700K after tax if i stay here. Is it worth moving back or is it just because most of my friends have moved back and i feel lonely without my close Nigerian friends ![]() |
Thanks!!! |
