NwaAmaikpe:

The minister of Education needs to do something about our education sector.
It's not fair that studying for a Masters degree overseas will trigger brain complications for students.
How do you explain it that a person graduates with a 1st class or 2.1 in Nigeria, gets admitted for a Master's degree overseas, then slumps and dies either while still studying or shortly after studying.
This brings me back to what Aunty Rapuokwu, my CRK teacher told me after catching me armed with almost half of the new testament hidden in between my armpit for use as "expo" during one of her exams.
She simply said, "you are only weakening your brain energy by cheating".
And she wasn't wrong; my first visit to the psychiatric hospital as a patient was from a supposed 'brain fäg' because I blanked out after being handed my Further Maths question paper and seeing Quadratic equations that looked like Hieroglyphics.
With that said, I hope village people are finally happy...because how do you rationalize someone not dying from the stress, heartache, poverty and hardship in Nigeria but then dying from a mere headache after succesfully integrating in a country of limitless potentials?
However, it is not right for a religious person like myself to sound so superstitious.
What if it is not underused brain energy or village people that are responsible for all these 'slump-and-die' deaths, but prayerful sidekicks wishing to replace them?
Mama Ramota still says that's the only reason she was scared when she found out I was cheating on her with a born-again Christian. Lol. You're still a bit rusty. Need to oil your parts........ Ishilove, your bf needs your help. 😁 |

Yankee101: I prefer data driven events When the kaduna nd Port-Hacourt refineries were working, bunkering was much much less than this
Pipelines already exist for example for Dangote cement for gas power
It should reduce the opportunities for bringing large tanker ships to the shore You can't compare gas to crude. With containers as simple as nylon bags you can transport crude. A lot of crude is stolen before before the last stage of custody transfer. You've seen pictures of modifications on Pipelines to divert crude before it gets to collections centres for onward transfer to the vessels. KD & PH refinery functioning were not directly related to the reduction in bunkering activities. The Economy played a huge role in the rise of bunkering. Buhari's tenure witnessed the highest bunkering I'd ever seen in the creeks of warri. Remember the Buhari employed Tantita does not fight crude oil theft in the seas where it loaded but in the creeks. The first stage of custody transfer. |
Politics › Re: Naira Slumps Against Dollar Amid Fuel Price Hike by NothingDoMe: 10:48pm On Sep 04, 2024 |
Yankee101: Dangote is 650k installed capacity Nigeria is 3million barrels per day installed capacity but now down to half in actual declared crude due to Theft. The stealing of exported crude is possible when you have to load plenty of ships at the same time on the near and far seaside. If the shipping is limited due to internal consumption, that helps reduce bunkering also.
We have Gombe and Kogi proven reserves yet to fully come on stream. These can be piped straight to the refineries just like Kaduna and Port-Hacourt are already connected A lot of the crude is stolen at the 1st stage of custody transfer even before it gets to the ships. You go just dey your work station see the line pressure dey go down because boys don hook up dey suck the line. Dangote refinery cannot help with bunkering. Rather, bunkering will increase because of the drive for more forex. Note that Nigeria cannot go beyond the OPEX quota in order to control price of oil. Except another country has a shortfall, tapping our proven reserves will be not be useful. |
Romance › Re: The Fear Of Being Used And Discarded Is The Reason Why Some Women Demand Money by NothingDoMe: 10:33pm On Sep 04, 2024 |
Merry100: The fear of being used and discarded is one of the reasons why some Nigerian women demand money in relationships.
In general, Nigerian women are very supportive; they do not prioritize their partner's financial status or income. Once they have fallen in love, they are willing to support their partner through thick and thin. However, some women in certain parts of Nigeria, such as Lagos, are more demanding.
Lagos is an expensive city, and as a result, the lifestyle can be quite extravagant. There is an abundance of bars, clubs, and other nightlife options in Lagos compared to other cities, which has led to a culture where sex is overhyped and frequently demanded. If the emphasis on sex were reduced, the demand for money and other financial gestures would also decrease.
In Lagos, many guys prioritize sex greatly in relationships. Some even date women whom they don't perceive as their ideal spouse, solely because they need a sexual partner. A guy can utilize a lady as his girlfriend just to satisfy his sexual urges for up to six years, breaking her heart. Many women in Lagos are already aware of these tactics. That is the reason some choose to date men who can spoil them with material things, ensuring they gain something from the relationship. This way, they won't feel used if they happen to fall into such an unfortunate situation. Lol. Lies from the pit of hell 🤣 |

Politics › Re: Naira Slumps Against Dollar Amid Fuel Price Hike by NothingDoMe: 8:12pm On Sep 04, 2024 |
Yankee101: Absolutely if done honestly and transparently
Sell Crude in Naira to local refineries All bought by the NNPC is local currency Sold to Nigerians in local currency Sell excess to neighboring countries in USD like we already do for electricity’ Save on FX used to purchase refined products for import Save on subsidies and eliminate it totally
Most of the subsides are being converted to USD
You eliminate 2 sources of FX leakage and gain a new one
The byproduct of refining petrochemicals can produce tar for road construction, chemicals, rubber etc. All these are generally imported. We can eliminate that leakage too
These should naturally strengthen the naira
If Nigeria was a regular country I’ll start buying naira right now. But it is not Excellent points. However you haven't addressed the IOCs need to repatriate their funds. Except you're saying that the NNPC will be the sole supplier with her 60 or 65% Joint venture share. |
