Politics › Re: Naira Slumps Against Dollar Amid Fuel Price Hike by NothingDoMe: 6:58pm On Sep 04, 2024

Don’t be a dimwit, everybody knows he re-introduced subsidy through the back door.

If you had any brains, your reply would have signaled to you why subsidy whether explicit or through the back door is unsustainable. Why have there been queues and scarcity for the last month or so? Because there was no money to pay for it. NNPC incurred $6.9b debt and could not sustain it.

Again I ask you how do you and your numbskull co-travelers expect for subsidy to be paid?

Again you can’t answer!!! Again this is why we say you must have the IQ of a log of wood to be an Obidient!! What kind of human being cannot articulate his position on a matter logically, whether one agrees with it or not is a different matter but at least articulate the reasons, metrics etc behind your positions. This is why normal right thinking people have no respect for you and treat you the contempt, disdain you deserve.
But the dimwit of a president kept saying there's no subsidy. Now who is the real dimwit? Those who voted him that are grossly disappointed and ashamed like yourself or those who accepted and defended his lies until the queues showed up like pregnancy that cannot be hidden. 😄

Please don't take your frustrations out on me bro. You were warned severally.

Again, he can get the money for subsidy from where he got the money to be running a lavish government. 😎

Oga stay on point. This discussion is about the merit/demerits of removing subsidy prices. People tend to divert from the subject and introduce other matters when they are intellectually defeated.

However, for the record I have said it many times that the only problem I have with the Tinubu administration is that you cannot ask people to tighten their belts while you live conspicuously at governments expense.

The difference between Obidients and others is that ALL Obidients have no brain cells, while you will at least more likely to find PDP or APC supporters who are capable of independent rational thinking, even criticizing their own when they do wrong. An Obidient will justify anything and resort to abuse in the process because usually that is all he has. In the process looking like dimwits. Obidients will flood all platforms complaining about price of petrol forgetting that their leader promised to remove subsidy on day 1. In addition, I have asked them (just like I am asking you) where will the money for subsidy come from? I have yet to get a response from probably over 40 I have asked on Nairaland!

Now, since I have answered you, I hope you can answer me unlike your cotravellers by telling us where the money to pay for the shortfall in landing or ex-depot price of petrol price is to be sourced. It is ok saying petrol was this in 2015, petrol is this now, tell us where is the money to come from?
Tinubu removed subsidy yet he is paying much more for subsidy than previous government?

And you're asking me where he'll get the money from? How does one remove subsidy and still pay for subsidy?

Doesn't mean you can't fight it. Olive leaf extract can prevent breakouts according to reports. Some even claimed it cured them.

Simple minded and poor people remain poor largely for 1 simple reason. They cannot endure short term pain for long term gain. They want comfort both now and in the future except life doesn’t work that way. Comfort now leads to future discomfort and discomfort now leads to future comfort because it is in discomfort that you grow. Nobody ever made progress by being comfortable. Going to school is uncomfortable, going to the gym is uncomfortable, building a business is uncomfortable but somehow some simpletons think building a nation especially one at the point of ruin is supposed to be comfortable?

Tinubu is laying the foundations for a better future for Nigeria, simple minds unsurprisingly cannot see it. He may not benefit from it, in fact it may cost him his second term but I can assure you whoever success him will not reverse the reforms because they know it is the right thing to do. They all want to do it but none of them ever had the balls to from Obasanjo to Jonathan to Obi to Atiku, they either tried to remove subsidy or had in in their manifesto. Awolowo is praised today but he was heavily mocked at the time for his free education. The students that enrolled in those “cow shed” Awo schools in the 1950s did not become graduates till the 1970s. When they talk about Awos education programs today they don’t tell you market women and farmers were taxed to pay for it, neither do they tell you the schools were like cow sheds. Similarly they omit to tell you that the poverty in the land today is due to decades of diversion of monies for infrastructure into subsidies. You pick your choice, comfort today discomfort tomorow or discomfort today comfort tomorrow!

I can also assure you that whether 2027 or 2031, whoever succeeds Tinubu will not be called Obi or Atiku. I have never said Tinubu is the best, what I have said and I maintain is that if the options are Atiku or Obj then Tinubu is in a class of his own. People who cannot even manage their own election, people without the strategic mind to claim an easy victory that was theirs for the taking and therefore snatched defeat from the jaws of victory clearly do not have the intellectual or strategic thinking capability to save Nigeria.

So wail all you like. We are all paying for the sins of decades of shortsightedness, misplaced priorities and mismanagement. I have said it many times I do not want a single kobo of subsidy either openly by the government or through the back door via NNPC. If Cameroun can pay N2000 for petrol they we have no business subsidizing petrol. Sell your 5L jeep and buy a corrola.

I am glad it has been removed because I know it’s not coming back whoever comes into power which means we will no longer have situations where we pay more for subsidy that our entire budgets for education roads, health, agriculture combined!
I think you're the simple minded one to believe that the government should be extravagant while the citizens have to go through pains.

There is such a thing as reduction in government expenses internationally but of course you'd turn a blind eye to this.

We are about to begin local production and consumption, the dollar is supposed to become weaker but trust rent takers and wickedness

They’re increasing prices

That’s means automatic inflation which will in turn devalue the naira
Scenario 1: Local production is bought with Naira.

The IOCs don't need Naira, so if you force them to sell in Naira, they will exchange the Naira for USD to take back to their country putting pressure on the Naira.

Scenario 2: Dangote sources for foreign crude.

Foreign operators don't want Naira. So Dangote has to exchange Naira to USD to be able to buy Foreign crude putting pressure on Naira.

Do you know of any Scenario where Naira will appreciate because of Dangote refinery?

Olive leaf extract has been said to be able to fight herpes. You may want to give it a try if you have the funds.

I guess the rule of law does not include honoring police summons, but fixing your own time because you have "some important things" to do

This hypocrisy is what is killing Nigeria.
There is no law that says you must appear on specified date to honor any police invitation.

Invitations and arrest warrants are two different things. The police can't just issue an arrest warrant without any evidence.

I will take this more seriously if it's came from a female lawyer.

Everybody naturally supports what favours them, if they were in the shoes.

Only a person of truth and high level integrity will stand for what is right no matter it's favourableness.

Conclusion: it would have more impact if comment was from a female lawyer.

Modified: Someone onced said "WOMAN is Woe Onto MAN"
He is right. The women who went to court to drag property were asked by the court to show their contributions to the acquisition of said property.

Ajaero is acting as if he is above the law.

The Force PRO in an interview on Channels TV said the NLC rented their second floor to someone implicated in terrorism. He also said there was suspicious correspondence between the person of interest and NLC leadership.

Ajaero needs to honour the invitation and set the record straight. Delaying by a week is likely to impede investigations and makes him look guilty.
He can also set the record straight in the court of law which is available to the police force. 🤡
