I just got my visa today. First timer. One month validity Submission: July 10th TLS pick up notification: July 16th I was really surprised with how fast it was! I have valid UK, Canada, and US visas, so that probably helped. I've only visited the UK once (last year) though. Other visas are unused. |
Yes, it is. Was there last week. lovetterrison: |
Visa alert! 6 months renewal Application: May 28th Biometrics: June 4th Collection email: June 16th With the public holidays, I was not expecting a response till June 30th, but this took 5 business days only. |
I've been a silent reader but I learned a lot from this thread and wanted to pay it forward. I applied for a visa to visit my sibling for 2 weeks. Submission date: September 5th Biometrics: September 11th Collection email: October 2nd I got an email when tls sent my application to DMC, but didn't get any email from UKVI about receiving my application or that a decision had been made. It took exactly 15 working days. The visa was granted. I submitted these documents: Cover letter Payslips Salary account bank statement Savings account bank statement Employment and promotion letters Sibling's BRP and passport Sibling's tenancy agreement Chats to explain that inflow into my accounts were loan repayments Copies of US and Canadian visas (both valid but unused) Travel stamps for previous trips to India and Cote D'Ivoire My bank statements were not very clean. I had some credits which were loan repayments from friends and family. I was a bit concerned about this but decided to submit anyway. I budgeted 1,000 pounds in the application form (no accommodation) and included a comment in my cover letter that it was a very conservative estimate but I have the ability to flex to 2,000 pounds if required. In hindsight, my application was probably not so straightforward, but I think the fact that I work in a reputable international organization and possess US and Canadian visas may have helped. My bank statements also demonstrated monthly salary payments and transfers to my savings account. I hope this helps someone! |
Prettyqween:It's not just you. The earliest date I can see in Abuja is November 26th! |
I've been following silently for some time. I saw a post by Opeyemi007 earlier this year about his visa turnaround time and it encouraged me to apply, so I wanted to pay it forward and share this to encourage others. Application submission: Feb 2nd, 2024 Biometrics: Feb 5th, 2024 Eligibility completed: Feb 12th, 2024 BVL and PPR: Feb 16th, 2024 I applied for a tourist visa. I have a valid US visa which I have not used yet and have been to two countries. The only documents I submitted were my passport data page, copy of US visa, employment letter, and payslips (optional) . Goodluck to all those still waiting! |
