You are engaging in sharing connections and, who knows, you may also see your name on a Coke bottle. So After I give someone a coke with their name on it What Next?[/quote] |
Coca-Cola‘s legendary Share a Coke campaign is here, and this time it’s all about Gen Z and everything we love: unique names, vibes, and life-giving experiences. There’s a great feeling that comes with seeing your name on a bottle of Coke. It becomes more than just a drink; it comes with a moment, a smile, and a reason to share with friends and family. Coca-Cola brought this feeling to life when Share a Coke first launched, and now it's back with 1000+ names, slangs, and squad names to celebrate the culture of sharing that’s so deeply Nigerian. For many young Nigerians, especially Gen Z, this will be their very first Share a Coke experience, and because Share a Coke celebrates the friendships and online experiences that define this generation, 2025 is the year of creating and sharing moments that truly matter. This time, the campaign is back bigger and bolder, with exciting prizes, unforgettable experiences, and fresh ways to celebrate everyday moments. So, whether you’re grabbing a Coke at school, at work, or celebrating those big life moments ranging from birthdays to weddings, Coca-Cola will be right there - where every sip leads to something special. Every purchase of a Coca-Cola will give Nigerians a chance to unlock instant rewards or the life-changing opportunity to become a millionaire every week. Yes, millionaire. Yes, every week. Coke is pulling up where the culture lives with dynamic activities and community-led experiences that bring people together through the simple joy of sharing and connection. In a time when connections are often fleeting, Coca-Cola is giving Nigerians something tangible: a share they can hold on to. So, the next time you pick up a can or bottle of Coke, take a look. Maybe it has your name, your best friend’s or your squad’s name. It’s about you and who you will share a Coke with. Share a Coke is here and reimagined for today’s Nigeria.

I was in school during the last campaign. I can't wait to see my name on the bottle this time around. |
bolaayenimo:Well, the competitors to MultiChoice in the Nigerian market, StarTimes, has also increased its tariffs. The FG must, therefore, summon StarTimes, who increased prices first, before talking about MultiChoice. Furthermore, it is ironic that the same FG that is asking MultiChoice to suspend their tariff increase approved 100 per cent increment in train fares on the Abuja-Kaduna route and sanctioned FAAN hike in Passenger Service Charge by 100 per cent all within this same period of COVID-19, which it claims is hard for Nigerians economically. If government agencies can increase their tariffs during a critical period under the guise of financial challenges, are private firms excused from experiencing such hiccups during this same period? |
xcelentattitude:Dear Sir or Ma'am, None of neither MultiChoice, DStv or GOtv is raping you, as you have claimed. The company, as a legal and lawful entity operating in Nigeria, is only implementing the law as encapsulated in the Finance Act, 2019. In case you are not aware, the law raised VAT rate from 5% to 7.5%, meaning a 2.5% increment was made law. Now, multiChoice bore the increment for subscribers for 4 months. You must admit that even in difficult times such as this, that was a noble gesture from the company. However, Father Christmas does not hand over gifts all through the year. Therefore, you are bound as a Nigerian to pay the legislated amount of tax, and so you must. I am sure you're not one of those lazy youths, so you can pick up a calculator and determine if the new prices reflect the VAT rate or it was an exorbitant upward review of prices. Merci! |
flokii:First of all, you need to do proper research to know that MultiChoice doesn't operate "Pay as you go" system of billing in South Africa, as you claim. Secondly, MultiChoice Nigeria is a PROUDLY NIGERIAN company run by Nigerians Thirdly, tariff rates were not increased. It was the 2,5% VAT increment by the Federal Government that was reflected. Or why do you think the Federal Government through the Ministry of Information or the FCCPC (formerly CPC) has not raised an objection? I'm sure you can pick up a calculator to cross-check the figures and deduce an interpretation after that. |
It seems Nigerians are always quick to attack private enterprises without first understanding the decision behind their actions. MultiChoice didn't increase prices on DStv and GOtv. It is simply implementing the 2.5% increase in VAT, which is now 7.5% up from 5%. The calculations can be done and it will show that it's the new VAT rate that has reflected in the pricing, and not a company review of prices. |
