Lies. You won't see a citizen of Qatar or Saudi Arabia who is "poor". Even though poor is relative, the so-called poor citizen of Saudi Arabia is assured of shelter and 3 meals a day.
Also Nigeria isn't a rich country, the oil you all keep referring to isn't 1/10th of what Canada, USA or Russia have. Also resources is no longer used to define the wealth of a country. If so, DR Congo will be the wealthiest in the world rather it's among the poorest. If you don't have dedicated and good leaders to harness the resources you have no matter how small or large they are, the citizens won't benefit. |

Electric Power Sector Reform Act of 2005 must be the act that Bought darkness with 16 Billion Dollars.

Arapmoi22: Why did Buhari that many citizens called useless is the one to repeal that retrogressive law?
It means he is not totally useless at the end of the day.
All OBJ needed to do is to start a bill to allow states generate, transmit and also distribute their energy as deemed fit.
But that psychopath who is only consumed by power focus on killing political opponents (Bola Ige, Harry Marshall, Aminoasari Dikibo etal) instead of thinking progressively. Consumed with power and greed that made him change five Igbo senate presidents in 7 years (Evans Enwerem, Chuba Okadibo, Adolphus Nwagbara, Anyim Pius Anyim, then Ken Nnamani). He removes with impunity as soon as anyone ask any question from a semi-god.
The psychopath would remove governors with touts as he did to Rasheed Ladoja and Chris Ngige. Illegal removal of elected Governor through state of emergency declaration in Plateau State. This evil old man used power as if he created the heavens and the earth.
He was so intoxicated that he now felt he could change our constitution to allow him reign forever. Yes, if he was succesfull with 3rd term, he would have used same template for 4th, 5th, etc.
If OBJ was not the evil man he is, nothing stopped him from making progressive decision to allow state generate, transmit and distribute their own power by starting such bill. Baba wants to crush Lagos and Tinubu by crushing anything that has to do with ENRON (a power generate, build and operate consortium Lagos invited in 2000). He could help Lagos, Akwa Ibom and other states initiatives. OBJ won't.
They told us OBJ paid all debts, but IMF is inundated with borrowed funds between 2000 and 2007. Who is deceiving who? Well, OBJ achieved something big though. He bought us DARKNESS worth 16 Billion Dollars. Mumu, I doubt you know the meaning of Psychopath with your repeated usage. Did you hear of Electric Power Sector Reform Act of 2005? |

What constitution was he obeying
Obj wasn't really smart enough to know that what Attah did would have been a model for other states to copy.
I keep saying that Obj had the best opportunity to set this country on the right track.
Make una no dey defend nonsense So, what did Obj stand to gain... You also read where Attah said it wasn't about politics or anything but faulty "federal arrangement" Tinubu is currently trying to a tax law passed, you see the hurdles he's facing. You-all think a President can just wake up rewrite the constitution to please all. So, if Obj couldn't fix, why did Yardua or GEJ fix it, why till the time of Buhari. |

kedeojo: Leave those who are busy defending him. Obasanjo had the chance for putting the country in good footing but greed never allowed him. Do you know the meaning of greed? What did he benefit personally from it. Or he earns more money if Nigeria/Akwa Ibom is in the dark. Rather he would have been proud to say, he ensured stable power supply in the country. Things like these are called bottlenecks, they are not broken easily. Remember the transformation in the power sector, from NEPA to PHCN to Gencos and Discos .... Each govt had to break the bottleneck one after the other . |
Politics › Re: Obasanjo Stopped Akwa Ibom From Having 24-hour Power After I Built Plant – Attah by ntyce(m): 12:20pm On Jan 18, 2025 |
kedeojo: Obasanjo lack foresight, he should have amended the law to allow state generate electricity and distribute. It would have been healthy competition among governors then and that would have been the best. If twenty states have generated 500 mega watt of electricity, that would have amount to 10000 MW as at that time plus the already generated one. The country would have been more industrialize by now. Lol, King Solomon .. That's why Govt is a continuum. Why didn't Yardua or GEJ amend the law or you think they also don't want to take the credit for ensuring stable power supply? You just don't amend laws to make things easier, there will always be consequences. Same Obj deregulated the oil sector, Nigerians including Tinubu protested against it. Same Tinubu introduced deregulation in a wicked manner. |

If all state where forced to build a power plant at 700megawatts each we won't be having problems there will be jobs all around the country. But because some people want to sell generators we all should suffer. They know how to buy the best cars in the north and use planes to get it delivered to them but can't invest in basic infrastructures. Another lazy thinker... Where is Shiroro, Mambilla, Kainji Dams located? Where does most of the electricity generated come from? Or you think a state has the financial ability to construct a dam? |

ObJ is the foundation of the problem we are facing today.
A very greed and selfish man. No one must outshine him ,he always has problem with anything good coming from other people. Shut up, olodo... You read every part but omitted where he said this Attah said he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the time so Obasanjo’s disapproval wasn’t about party politics but about a faulty federal arrangement. It wasn't about Obj the individual rather the existing law at that time. As the President, he swore to obey the constitution. What subsequent Presidents did was to amend the law. |
