LAFIAGI KINGSHIP: THE HIGHEST BIDDERS MADE THE LIST

We write with utmost regard for your person and office as the executive Governor of our dear state. Here, we seek to bring to your attention a matter of urgent intervention, with your reputation and integrity we believe this is a case of interest and we trust in your judgement as entrusted on you by the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.

According to reliable information from close sources to the kingmakers, the process of selection has been compromised and the highest bidders made the list through to your office. As we all know the late Emir reigned for over 45 years and for the first time the king makers in their lifetime has a statutory duty to perform, in their decession to make selection, they have decided to compromise the process that will bring forth a candidate of merit .Your excellency sir, we have received credible information that the names submitted have paid well their way through to your office and we call on your attention and authority to revoke the misrepresented list to avoid chaos in our township.

It was disclosed that the selected applicants had offered money in millions, and at a point it was one king maker against four as the top most and influential king maker made his way to take huge bribe without their consent and come to impose names on them. Eventually they had a mutual agreement and came to conclusions after their selfish aims were satisfied to present the candidates who had bid the highest amount. This is denigrating and embarrassing on our image and the lafiagi emirate council, we write to appeal to you as the leader of our dear state and the final decision taker to come to our aid in redeeming a long built reputation of objectivity instead of this process of gratification for favours that will not go well at the end of it all.

Mr governor, we plead that you constitute a panel of enquiry and delegate men of honour to wage in and select merited applicants for your final decision on who will ascend the throne as the 14th Emir of Lafiagi.

Here is a list of applicant and their profiles for your perusal.

1. MAKUN LAFIAGI, SAMBO HALIRU (Age 79)
Hails from EMI Etsu Saadu, a younger brother to the late Emir and a descendant of Etsu ABDULKADIR . He is a a retired civil servant.

Before his retirement he had held political appointments with successive Kwara state government and played actively in politics locally and the state of Kwara.

He has held many titles of royalty as it relates to his pedigree and he has the fore knowledge of royalty and reign of royalty, he is based in Ilorin and speaks English fluently, Yoruba , a little of Hausa and the native Nupe dialect

2. IYAN LAFIAGI, MOHAMMED SHAABA LAFIAGI (Age 81)
The name Sha'aba Lafiagi is a household name in Lafiagi and a prominent personality in Kwara state.
He is a descendant of Etsu Ibrahim Halilu

Shaaba Lafiagi is a veteran politician who was elected governor of Kwara State in January 1992 on the Social Democratic Party (SDP) platform, and was removed from office by the administration of General Sani Abacha in November 1993. He was later elected senator to represent Kwara north from 7th June 2011 – June 2019. The former governor and senator is based in Ilorin

He is the current Iyan lafiagi and has travelled far and wide across the nation, he speaks English fluently, Yoruba, a little of Hausa and Nupe native dialect. He also has a sister who is married to the late Emir.

3. CIROMA LAFIAGI, SAADU HALIRU (Age 59)
The first son of the late Emir popularly known as Lukpan, he has taken titles of royalty progressively from Ubandoma through untill his confirmation as the Ciroma of Lafiagi.

The cool, calm and collected prince who is a civil servant working with the Kwara state government for over 25 years is based in Ilorin, he also speaks English fluently, Yoruba, a little of Hausa and nupe native dialect. He is a descendant of Etsu ABDULKADIR and Etsu Saadu, the late Emir who is his father.

4. SARDAUNA LAFIAGI, NDAGI BELLO ISA (Age 53)
His background is not far fetched from EMI Shaaba Iliyasu, his first title of royalty was Sarkin Kudu and now the Sardaunan Lafiagi with a fore knowledge of royalty. He is a descendant of Etsu ABDULKADIR

Alhaji Ndagi Bello Isa who is popularly refered to as Octagon (Otago) is a prolific economist from the prestigious Bayero University Kano with MSC from university of Jos and MBA from Ahmadu Bello university Zaria, a private sector actor who has built his career in the oil sector, starting from capital oil before proceeding to Agip Nigeria PLc and has served in various capacities as staff of the defunct Agip Nigeria PLc that metamophosised to Oando, Eni group and now OVH energy for over 25 years until his voluntary retirement in 2019. He was the sales manager aviation terminal Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport Abuja. Serving with OVH energy, he was transferred within states from his primary state of service plateau state through to Gombe, Bauchi, Kano and finally Abuja-FCT untill his retirement.

Alhaji Ndagi Bello Isa is a great grand child of Etsu Muhammadu Bello who is the grand father of the late Emir. He is the son of the current Kpotun of Lafiagi and he is married to the daughter of the late Emir, he is currently based in Kano. He speaks English fluently, Hausa, Yoruba and his native Nupe dialect

5. UBANDOMA LAFIAGI, KUDU SKYE BANK (Age 51)
His first title of royalty is Ubandoma by the late emir last year 2021, A private sector actor, a seasoned banker who is currently active in service has held positions in various capacities with the defunct Sky Bank and currently working with Wema Bank.

He is based in Kano and working in Abuja currently , he hails from EMI Rani and a descendant of Etsu ABDULKADIR, he speaks English fluently, Hausa and a little of Yoruba and his native Nupe dialect.

6. DCP ALIYU KAWUNDA (Age 44)
A public servant, an officer of the Republic who graduated from the federal university of technology Minna and has since found passion in his service to the nation as a police officer, he is a vibrant police officer who has several years of experience as a cop.

7. MUSA BELLO (Age 47)
The son of the late Alhaji Bello, A descendant of ABDULKADIR . He is a civil servant and actively in service, he is also in the race to ascend the throne as the 14th Emir.

He speaks English,Hausa and the nupe dialect, based in Abuja.

He hails from EMI Etsu Umaru and a descendant of Etsu Abdulraheem and Etsu Umaru Okede. He speaks English fluently, Yoruba, Hausa and the native Nupe dialect.
