Last time I checked the immigrant online status It showed refused.
Other people waiting also confirmed theirs is showing refused as well.
October 2020 would be one year that I was placed in the dark hole (AP).
It’s very frustrating but I will soldier on.

Waow yours is almost a year? This is crazy mine is 6 month now and it is frustrating.. the waiting is not a joke but God will put a smile on our faces at the end..

Hello there,

I decided to start this thread because I have gone through all the travel section on Nairaland and there is no subject or thread that discusses U.S Immigrant Visa Applicants whose cases are undergoing Administrative Processing, after appearing for their interview at the U.S Consulate or Embassy.

My objective of starting this thread is to have US immigrant visa applicants who are currently in this situation or those have gone through the Administrative Processing hole, share their experience and how they came out of it because I am currently in this situation.

So you are married to a US citizen who has petitioned for you to come join him/her in the United States. US petitioner has submitted form i-130 and sent petition fee to the USCIS and after waiting for several months (we waited for 360 days), the USCIS finally approved your petition and sent your case file to the National Visa Center (NVC). The NVC sends you an email with your case ID and invoice ID, then you and your petitioner pay the AOS and IV fee, and submits all the required Financial and Civil supporting documents. You wait for that to be approved by the NVC (we waited for 3 months) and then you received the email that says you are Documentarily Qualified. Then you wait another for 1 or 2 months for your visa interview to be scheduled. You eventually receive another email from the NVC stating that your interview has been scheduled, with date and time of the interview. Then you go for your medical examination at the designated U.S hospital, pay the medical fees and come back for your medical report/result. After that, you start fasting and praying all kinds of prayers for a successful visa interview, with all the sleepless nights involved. Then on the D-Day (the visa interview day), you appear at the U.S Consulate or Embassy for your interview. The Consular Officer calls your number, starts the interview, mid-way through the interview the Consular Officer discovers there is an inconsistency in your case file and at the end of the interview, he/she says "your case requires further processing" or "your case requires administrative processing" and hands you back your passport and a white paper which indicates that you can email the U.S Consulate for updates after 90 days, if you do not hear from them. You leave the Consulate or Embassy feeling like life has been taken out of you. You and your spouse or family members back in the U.S are disappointed. Then you start thinking and asking yourself: another 3 months or 90 days delay?

Let's discuss our experiences on this thread and how you came out of the dark hole called Administrative Processing and eventually got your visa.

my brother am telling you it’s crazy.. am also going through the same thing and it’s very frustrating.. I can see you wrote this last year I want to know how did it go?

Guys,

Update!!!

So i got an email in this afternoon that says:

'We write to inform you that the review of your case has been completed and the next step is for you to drop off your International passport at the GSS Document Collection Center located at the DHL Service Center at Plot 230, Muri Okunola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos for visa issuance. Once you submit the highlighted, it will be forwarded to the U.S. Consulate office for processing. A copy of our drop off letter is attached for your use.'

I was so excited.

I was on the Island at that time.......if you see the way i drove down to the mainland, picked my passport and ran back to VI so that i would get to the DHL ofice before 4.00pm.

I hope to get my passport back as soon as possible. I have a wedding to plan ASAP.

Thanks guys for all the kind and encouraging words....i was already getting frustrated.

hi this is a good news and am happy for you..I have a question I had my interview on feb 24th this year and after that they put me on administrative process before the lock down... so I want to know was your case on administrative processing and how long was it?
