Nigeria midfielder, John Ogu showed his romantic side at the weekend as he proposed to his fiancée Chiugo Akaolisa right on the pitch after a game involving his Israeli club Hapoel Beer Sheva and Maccabi Peta Tikva on Saturday.

The hosts won 5-2 but it was the marital victory for the footballer that will be the talk of the city for a long time because immediately after the final whistle, Ogu committed himself to his beautiful girlfriend.

While Ogu earns his living as a central midfielder, Chiugo is a blogger and entrepreneur by day and a budding novelist by night.

A 70 year old man might have cheated death when he came back to life after spending three days in a mortuary in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.
Doctors at a private hospital in the town had on Saturday, August 26, 2015, certified Amos Otene dead at 4. 30 am and promptly covered him up and wheeled him into the mortuary, awaiting instructions from members of the family for embarment.

When one of his sons who stays in Lafia returned home to confirm the death, according to Eche,the son at about 1.39 pm, “the morticians at the hospital wheeled out the trolley containing my father and unveiled the face for me to see.

It was in this process that the supposedly he started raising his right hand and all of us fled towards the reception area of the mortuary. From a safe distance we watched as my father lifted himself and sat on the bed and that was about seven minutes later. One of the attendants eventually summoned enough courage and approached my father who fell back on the trolley.”

Eche said that the doctors ordered that the resurrected man be readmitted in the ward where remained in the ward till Tuesday when the doctors carried out series of tests and certified Otene fit for discharge.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo have made known their assets, with the President declaring less than N30 million and his deputy a cash balance of N94 million and US$900,000 in his bank accounts.

The assets, which were still being verified by the Code of Conduct Bureau, it was learned, also showed the President to have shareholdings in Berger Paints, Union Bank and Skye Bank with a total of seven houses including two mud houses.
