PoliticsAnambra By-election Results by nyejar(op): 5:41pm On Aug 16, 2025
Why is there no information on the Anambra by-election results? We've seen results from every other state except Anambra. What's causing the delay? Transparency is key, and people are watching closely. 2027 will be full of surprises. Obidient what? O ti lùlẹ 😊
PoliticsRe: Oyo State Generated More VAT Revenue Than 4 Zones by nyejar: 3:37pm On Jul 21, 2025
This situation reflects a clear imbalance in fiscal federalism. It raises a fundamental question: why should a state like Oyo, which generates substantial internal revenue, receive only a fraction of that amount in federal allocations? Such a disparity challenges the principle of equity and fairness in national resource distribution.

It is imperative that the Oyo State government begins to assert more control over its IGR. While transparency remains critical, the state should prioritize retaining a larger portion of its IGR for local development, infrastructure, education, and healthcare. The current practice of remitting significant revenues to the federal purse, only to receive disproportionately lower allocations, undermines the autonomy and development potential of economically active states.

Oyo State cannot continue to operate as a net contributor to the federation without seeing corresponding benefits. While national unity and resource sharing are vital, the system must be restructured to reward productivity and incentivize local development efforts. A more decentralized fiscal framework, perhaps through restructuring or true federalism, would ensure that states are not merely "feeding" others at the expense of their own growth.

This is not a call for isolationism but a demand for a more equitable and accountable system, one where states that contribute more to the national economy are empowered to do more for their people.

Oh really? Everybody is saying he’s gay; that’ he’s the only son of Peter Obi. Some also claim PO has disowned him due to his way of life. In fact, some also claim he put a curse of his father for how he brought him up.
How can someone of this emblem be a nice guy? I disagree with you, and go with the public opinion.
