Science/Technology › From Chatbots To Workers: How AI Is Starting To Do Real Jobs In Space, Code And by oauproject(op): 2:48pm On Nov 04

AI is moving beyond answering questions. The latest Daily Tech discussion looks at what happens when AI starts doing actual work — running a model aboard a prototype satellite, helping write and manage code, and even being used by attackers in new ways.

Three ideas stand out. First, putting AI in orbit shows how far the technology has travelled from the desktop. Second, changes to how coding tools are charged and used could reshape how developers work day to day. Third, the rise of AI agents brings a security question with it: who is really in control when software acts on our behalf?

That last question is worth keeping in mind for every AI claim we hear: what does it actually do, where does it do it, and who is in control? Watch the full discussion here:

What do you think — is AI doing real work a step forward, or are we handing over too much control too quickly? Share your thoughts below.

Christianity Etc › Borrow Empty Jars, Not A Few: How A Widow's Last Jar Of Oil Paid Her Debt And Sa by oauproject(op): 12:45pm On Nov 04

Sometimes the most powerful miracles start with almost nothing. In this short Bible story from 2 Kings 4, a widow is left in a desperate place after her husband's death. A creditor is coming to take her two sons to settle a debt she cannot pay, and all she has left in the house is one small jar of oil.

When she cries out to the prophet Elisha, he does not hand her money. He gives her a strange instruction instead: go and borrow empty jars from all your neighbours, and do not borrow just a few. Behind a closed door, she pours from her one small jar — and the oil keeps flowing until every borrowed jar is full. Only when there are no more jars left does the oil stop.

Elisha then tells her to sell the oil, pay the debt, and live on what remains with her sons. It is a story about provision, obedience, and trusting God with what little you have, even when it does not look like enough.
