Therefore there is nothing the govt can do to reduce the price of petrol, it will solely be controlled and influenced by d global price of crude oil and ur local exchange rate.
This is because President Bubu had mortgaged future sales of up to 30yrs in advance to collect loan.
The app companies are trying to strike a balance between increasing the fares too much or making it affordable to a large extent. Transportation is an essential service, but with alternatives, if ur own is too expensive, only a few will patronize u. Ones in a while people will want to experience ur service but u will not be the go-to for regular needs. Just like riders have adjusted to not getting AC, or entering Maggie cube cars, people will have to learn to cut down cost just to make the service still affordable. Even if it's at the cost of quality, affordability is still d priority to get turnover.
The Nigeria society is not a rich or high purchasing power or high spending society, so If u make ur service luxury, no be person go tell u. U will wake up, buy fuel and sit in d sun for hours before u see trip. Forget that people still request trips even in surge, but that surge price is not sustainable.
Having said that, I believe the app companies can increase the fare a little more and it will not affect patronage because at this rate, very few people are willing to invest, and its just a matter of time for d collapse of the standard if things doesn't change.

I applied on July 23, as I saw the thread here on Nairaland with same thought as many Doubting Thomases that it's an audio loan, APC members loan, election bribe loan, you have to know someone that knows someone to get it, infact the first and most liked comment of that thread was 'if you've never benefitted from any of these grants/loans from FG click like'.

But I'm here to clear your doubt that it's far from that and it was an easy-peasy without needing anyone or agent to get but just following simple instructions and providing your correct details.

I first sing-up with my basic info like name, mail, number, NIN on app.youthcred.com

It has 3 tiers;

For Youth Corpers
For Employed Youth
For Entrepreneurs/Self-employed Youth

I applied as an entrpreneur/self-employed youth.

I got a confirmation mail on July 30, that my application has been approved!

Now, this is where the main processes began.

It has 5 stages/level from 0 - 5 and all stages are accessibble from your dashboard.

Stage 0 & 1, you answer basic financial questions relating to loans and your experience around credits, banks, lenders & repayments.

Stage 2, you provide your business details, address, business name, number (just put a random number that follows the format) etc.

Stage 3, you link your bank details with BVN and supply your 1yr account statements.
Ths is where the crux of the matter is, it's your 1yr account statements that determines the amount of loan you'll get, in my case #233k maximum, which I took all.
You keep trying/refreshing as this may take time before it reflects.

Stage 4, you set-up your automatic debit repayment link, here you send #50 from your account to theirs for confirmation.

Stage 5, I got the loan today Aug 3!

The loan comes with. just 2% interest rate, 233k to pay back 247k over 3 months, difference of roughly 20k, all administrative charges inclusive.
