1Sharon:Why bring knife to a pillow fight |
Nukilia:You can actually get your point across without sounding like a badly-raised person. |
Kewtt:Sadly if one has a child that is acting in this unfortunate way. Shaming him in public like this will only make the child alienate him or herself from the father/family further, the stage will now be set for the partner to manipulate him well well. It's a dicey one |
Orinechi:I know. I really know. But deep down you still love your son, so he has to try. The boy is not wise we all know, and that why the father should help him. |
The man should rest at this point. Wish his boy well. He needs all the family love he can get. If a woman goes ahead to marry your son that is much younger than d woman without the consent or blessings or presence of you the father, what ur boy needs from you is protection, support, guidance and someone to watch his back. He is lost, he is lost, d least u can do for ur child is to forgive HIM and be there for him, even if he has not said sorry. The father needs maturity and wisdom, his son is still his son. If anything happens to the boy, he cannot replace his son, na him go still cry and live with the pain, the 38 years old girl will get another boy to marry |
achorladey:Quoted from the link u shared, The Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Taiwo Oyedele, has disclosed that a mere 10% of the $20 billion 2023 diaspora remittances reached the Nigerian foreign exchange market. The funds do not pass through Nigerian FOREX market. A lot is happening in the P2P market. Almost everyone on their whatsapp status is selling and buying dollar. It's not like people's money are not getting Nigeria. The money is already labelled remittances, so it gets remitted but it doesn't pass through the official forex market. If someone wants to send money to their child abroad and u want to send money home to do some things. Una go deal, I believe that's what he's talking about. I stand to be corrected |
Proserpina:Everything na gaslighting to una. E say rejects thank God for faceless forum wey dey give some of una voice. If you are raising your own daughters already I wish u all the best on that, if you are looking to get married I still wish u all the best. |
Dear young girls, He is not my type, he is not rich enough, he is not trendy enough, he is not tall dark and handsome, he doesn't have full beards. He is not this, he is not that. Dem dey tell una now, una dey find weytin no lost. Shey u see weytin dey happen to ur role models at 38. This babe still dey lucky na, shey the boy still decided to go ahead with her against the wish of his family, plenty babes dey for street, dem no even mind make the family of the man even do billboard and advert on NTA news to rubbish them like ds, make the boy just decide to be with them. Even if e no Marry them, make e just dey for dem like bf or fiance, make dem for get chance of pregnancy. The babe dey play with fire sha, make nothing happen to the boy o, otherwise she go pay lawyer money tire. She no go jail o but they will unsettle her in a very big way |
If we let these generation of super eagles players retire without using them to win anything, it will be sad. |
2Radii:But in Nigeria, the growth in people's expenditure is exponential while they r not really stepping up any ladder. Meanwhile if minimal social vices, ready made amenities are available in UK, that is a huge part of what constitute quality/standard of living. Those 2 things u call ONLY, those are the things a lot of people want want in this life, and they will have peace and live happily forever with their loved ones. |
Roger3D:Yes. |
achorladey:I largely agree with your points. But see at some point we have to make comparisons. Foreign remittances are not necessarily chasing few goods at the moment. Practically speaking, Even with rising cost got goods in naija, What $1k or £1k did for me 10months ago is very small compared to what it does for me at the moment. I would like u to tell me why u say, not all remittance get to Nigeria. I don't get that part. Is it missing along the transfer route? Relocating to UK in itself is not what will make u wealthy, it can however fetch you a pathway to plan for a super comfortable life in the very near and distant future. if you do things correctly 85 out of 100 times u will achieve this. Nigeria on the other is a place u can just become wealthy with the way things are, but from what I know the probability of that happening is 30%(less if we are being honest) |
RaptorX:it makes sense to convert what u have left for investment after every other bills have been taken care of |
lekonso:what part of what he said do u think is not true |
2Radii:expenses and utilities wont remain stagnant, if its about cravings, people earning 50kNGN per month in naija have cravings too. The normal thing is that u dont satify ur cravings if u cannot afford it, will 3k net income take care of a family of 3 in UK? it will. Will the household income be minimum wage forever? I dont expect it to be so. |
Neoteny:I want to point some things to you. Will their annual household income forever remain on 40k? Are there no opportunity to change to better paying jobs or get promoted to higher-paying roles within the same company? and Lets go by this your calculation, even if all they have left to save as a family is £200 for fixing something back home, is it not something for being on minimum wage jobs? But my major argument with u is this, will they be on minimum wage forever? Do they have jobs in Nigeria that will have them save 500k every month for investment or building project? When they were in Nigeria, did they have budget for gifts, entertainment. If NO, why is it now suddenly important because they are in UK. |
fkj950ax:But he said it clearly na, yearly salary and monthly net income, just press calculator divide by 12 na. He did not misrepresent anything. |
theysg:he said the absolute truth, u get value for ur money, proper value for the tax u pay |
AirBay: if you dont have money u just come on nairaland and start posting naija is better than UK |
TheGift:Please share a little about the cost of living crisis...what is housing like |
achorladey:The basis for comparison is that savings u have to send to Nigeria that you talked about. Husband and Wife with household net income of 2800 can still afford to easily send 588pounds(1millionNGN) back home monthly for whatever project they have(which is conservative because they wont stay on minimum wage forever and many people even earn above minimum wage). No let anyone whine u say say rent dey expensive, person wey dey from ikorodu go VI everyday in Nigeria, e reach UK e say e no fit stay 45minutes away from his office. Na him dey find weytin no lost |
Kemistri3:dont be dramatic. Husband and wife even earning 2800 net pay collectively are not doing badly. They may not be able to buy Gwagon but they can live a comfortable life. They will even have 500k to spend on building projects back home every month. Your kids can do great things, if u get son, u fit try whine am make e be footballer. The opportunities are endless. Even if u no send money home for housing project, collect mortgage, after few years apply to collect Home Equity Line of Credit, use am do weytin u wan do back home or wherever. |
Olaolex:Sweet_alexis: Dogs don’t die from eating it, so you won’t die too Nigerians have the worst mouth in the entire universe imagine response |
alpharoyalty:I can't say you are wrong, looks that way. Hopefully she is happy and good. |
Beautiful woman, ageless. May God give her happiness and joy. If she has it already. May God make her joy last forever. |
Nigerian Police and a Fraudster? they are in the same line of business, ds one na fight between 2 business associates, Na family matter, dem go settle am amicably |
chiiraq802:Bournemouth should make the world a better place by doing the needful UPDATE- At this point, City Should not mess this up |
MomohMrMoore:It is better to monitor what is happening than to ban crypto trading. Because really with technology, u cannot really ban anything. The web space is such that you can be in Nigeria and be operating anywhere else in the world on the internet. So imagine someone's activity manipulating ur currency when u can't see what the person is doing, it's better u see so u can control appropriately. |
Cardoso should stop being an idiot. They have told you can't stop determined minds from operating in the crypto space. P2P is well ahead of you. Why not face your currency decline problem from the root. Synergize ur economic policies and shoot to earn forex for the country. Encourage people that will produce, set up trade exchange systems and the rest with China and serious partners. Forget the hate u have for the tribe that will benefit most from reinvigorating trade and production, just do it and save the country. |
Jokerman:I don't know what you are trying to get at but the only salient point u made was that tribal voting did not start today. In 1999 there were 2 yoruba Frontliners, yorubas voted enmass for 1, even obasanjo did not get massive vote from his state ogun. You say SE is d only one that vote based on competence, but the only time a SE person was a Frontliner the SE states also went to him massively. The country Nigeria is not united by default and every tribe, every fucking tribe do the same thing, go tribal with their votes. I am a sure and big Obi fan but you've got to stop this lopsided analysis |
Who will build affordable uni for d massed like ds. Government dey fail sha because we can't tell private investors how invest their money, make una dey vote wisely o |
