Romance / Re: Is It Ok To Start Life All Over Again At 46? by obaidan: 12:16am
Oburu202:
Bro, honestly it's a bit late. They can try to tell you all these nonsense.
The truth remains that it's late. Add just 10 years to it.
How old would you be when your kids is 18?
Be happy with yourself. Life in itself is meaningless. Nothing last forever. There's nothing we will go with. Everything is new everyday. We just don't understand it.
Acknowledge that it's late. But don't let it weigh you down. Nothing is meaningful in life. Humans just kill ourselves over nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I dont quite agree with you. It all depends on if he can get the energy to start fighting from now going forward. going forward, he needs to play by his own standar and be realistic as u mentioned.
If I were him(and I dont really have skills), I would beg for funds and consider small scale agriculture and be diligent and see what I can make out of that in 3 to 4 years. When I become financially stable a little bit, I would consider adopting an intelligent orphan that was abandoned. He can still create happiness around him. His focus should be on getting some financial stability, not when to have his own biological kids. He can still have his own kids, but his focus should be on having some financial capacity to make the child of a hopeless child beautiful, he stands a good chance of reaping.
If luckily all goes well for him starting from now and at 50, he starts raising a child that is around 10......with prayers, support and God's grace, he can find himself joy and absolute fulfillment again. Depending on how things pan out, he can also try to have his own biological kid down the road.

Just clocked 46 yesterday.
And nothing to write home about

It is never too late, the toughest part of the journey is finding the strength, the drive, the energy to fight.......but if you are lucky and blessed to find that energy and focus, believe me it is never too late

Real! It’s far better to be poor, depressed, sad and be hopeless and eventually die in Canada than to be a billionaire in Nigeria. At least your people back home go dey respect your name say u dey abroad..

agree! Couple with the fact that over 640 million Nigerians have died in the last two months due to insecurity and poverty. A whooping 780 million Nigerians can’t afford to feed and cloth themselves and are suffering on the street of Lagos. Nigeria is hell! Better to become homeless and die of cold and depression in Canada than to be a dangote billionaire in Nigeria. At least your people in Naija will know you’re abroad and that’s enough respect as it is

bolded must be a joke.

I dont know why Kwankwaso came into politics, but right now he is just in to cash out, he will sell out to the likely winner in 2027... either by coming out directly to support someone or by chipping away from a northerner's vote block in order to give his southern friend an advantage

Career / Re: NAFDAC Salary Structure by obaidan: 12:44am On Feb 06
DeOTR:

Shared apartment in New Smyrna Beach, Florida is almost $2000 monthly. I guess you now know where all those money goes.
You earn big in the US, you also spend it there. I don't see any serious sense in converting his salary to dollars when we know even with the sorry state of naira, he'll still live a better life than someone earning 2k monthly in the US.
A mini flat in Rwanda is equivalent of 350k in naira. Things you can buy at 8k in Nigeria are almost equivalent of 17k over there. Their taxes are higher too.
You guys should stop comparing the incomparable.
2k shared apartment rent in New Smyrna Beach is not the only place to live in Florida and definitely not the only place to live in the US. I can also tell you 2 bedroom apartment in Silver Spring MD is 2.5k monthly. I can give you other cost effective options all over US, even in Florida. So dont make it sound like the best 2k/month can get you all over US is a room in a shared apartment.
Btw My comparison was that a university graduate in NAFDAC with salary of 250k/month with similar skillset/knowledge will command income of 60k/yr upwards in the US(assuming work permit is sorted).
i said 2k income in the US is generally for unskilled, uneducated, high school grads doing gap year, immigrant still trying to get papers and all. - I never said 2k income will live a better life than 250k income in Nigeria( however if u look at things in Nigeria today, it is arguable)
- i dont know how Rwanda entered the story, i dont know what's obtainable in Rwanda but i know in Lagos and Abuja and PH where u can find plenty people earning 250k/month. For 1 bedroom apartment in a places like Ikosi Ketu(lagos), Kubwa(abuja) u will spend 50% of that your 250k income on rent...and these locations are not even decent like that

why not compare the naira with Zimbabwe dollar or any other low currency.. he is living averagely and okay eith the 250k($150 like you said,) but someone earning 2000 dollars in the USA that u are comparing. That's about 3m naira. Is very very poor and one of the lowest income earner in USA. So give ur self brain abeg. Mumu
people in US with comparable skills n knowledge to the person earning 250k in nafdac are earning $5k per month. 2k per month salary na for people wey no get skill/education or person wey finish high school wan make small money before dem go university or immigrant wey no get right work permit. and low earners like that still get refund from their taxes at the end of the year, a lot of them still get much more than equivalent of N250k times 12

See weyrey question from sufferhead grin
Can you use 220k to rent any 2-3 bedroom flat in any city in NIGERIA?

The way many of you think is the reason why you will forever remain in poverty.
An average civil servant makes $150 a day in USA.
In Nigeria, that's what an average senior civil servant make in ONE FULL MONTH.
even people wey dey drive taxi dey make $200 a day. I am not sure a full director's monthly salary is up to $700...... Consultants in government hospitals are not earning 1.2m per month..i no even sure say dem dey earn 1m

You're a good student of history. You succinctly capture the scenario well.
I was also surprised when El-Rufai gave his support to Tinubu. I was initially arguing that El-Rufai will only support Amaechi because he was so close to Amaechi then and Amaechi the person that singlehandedly saved him when he had a case with EFCC. Amaechi even drove him to EFCC office, my instinct was telling me, it was time to repay Amaechi's back but that thought failed me completely.
Well, what I later heard was Tinubu promised him vice president or a very juicy post and El-Rufai fell for it.

so so naive of him. Tinubu making Elrufai his vice will basically be a repeat of what almost consumed Obasanjo in 2023.

The thing about religion. It's breaks the very law it is supposed to uphold. God said, "thou shalt not commit murder", If these ones were serving the living god, they would simply revert back to him in situations like this. But for this religious people, even with their endless praying ritual they still don't believe their God enough to take vengeance and fight for himself, rather they must take the laws into their own hands; threatening, fighting and won't be satiated until they kill for their god.

What a shame of a people who call on a god they least believe in to act independently for himself.
You mean A certain religion

Dangote, Danjuma, Abdulsamad Rabiu, Indimi can collectively engage 2 million Northern youths, they should go and cry to them, their other leaders with pedophilic disorder and their sultan that looks forward to entrenching sharia in the south
they also have a governor that sponsored marriage of i think 100 jobless youths...they can cry to that one too to use that money to buy seedlings and clear farmland for them
