Okay, everybody in your team scored same as Arsenal abi? So how many goals did your team score altogether and how many goals did Arsenal as a team score?

The Answer is the difference between us.

From the little I know and have watched, especially this season in the UCL, he has a few similarities to Klopp and that is why I think they picked him. Considering their current roster and investment, Liverpool needed to ensure the transition post-Klopp isn't a drastic change to how they play tactically.

Arne plays an intense high press just like Klopp. He pushes his front and midfield high during the press. Also, he plays fast transition and packs the box with players just like Klopp. They do however play different formation but their ideologies are quite similar. It is moderate risk for Liverpool because replacing legendary coaches is a tough task, especially in Big clubs.

Hmmmmmm interesting. Really not easy replacing a legend like Klopp. I wish him good luck, but not against Arsenal and Arteta sa.

Saka started taking up the burden of the team at a very young age and it is telling on him as he already looks old- dropped in pace, unable to take his man, and some times looks confused about what he should be doing. This level of responsibility meant his growth may probably have stunted. The right approach for the manager ahead of next season is to get someone who can relieve him and yet he will not feel missed or that something is off. So that he can come into games with a relaxed mind and do what he knows best.

So in summary, Saka needs a worthy deputy. Same goes to Odegaard.

True and we need Partey's replacement, Jorg is still not it for me, I want a good DM that will free Rice to go forward like Roland17 also stated.

With a fit Timber, If we get a strong Saka and Odegaard deputy with Partey's replacement, we should be the team to beat next season irrespective of what other teams including City are doing. Also hoping Jesus can become more clinical like Trossard.

The title race is still open and anything is still possible. A red card, a penalty, VAR etc. It's hope for me, because City doesn't look like a team that will lose, but then hope maketh not ashamed for all things are possible.

It's been a great ride for Arsenal to get to this point. At 6 games to go after we drew at Man City it was a three horse race of which very few felt Liverpool were the ones with the advantage because of their easier run of games and they were at the top. At the end of it all it has boiled down to just us and City.

Winning it would make a huge statement and would mark a new beginning at the club after years of oblivion. It will shine a bright light again at the north of London. However, win or lose the team has done well as you cannot fault a team that fought for the title till the last day. I will be anticipating...

I co-sign this.

Good luck to all of us Arsenal fans !

You can mock chelsea all you want. It's not your fault. Last time i checked, No true chelsea fan is happy with our current condition. Our useless owners are our major problem. I'm certain Abrahimovic's chelsea will sack arteta after last season. What Roland and oyin is preaching seems to be the bitter truth. Mediocrity is a big disease!!! For your information Pep will still be around for the next 2-3 seasons

Mediocrity! You guys are also misunderstanding Arteta supporters.

None of us said Arteta only! or that Arteta is the best or only manager we can have; we are only saying if Arteta must go, get us a manager that will take us to the promisedland and not the one that will take us back to Egypt. I agree Abrahimovic's Chelsea would have sacked Arteta but he would most likely replace him with someone better at any cost, like after sacking Mourinho, he gave you guys Ancelotti. But you must also admit that some of his rash decisions/experimentations did not turn out well.

Basically what we are saying is that we don't want your type of current owner's experimentation that is taking the club backward. We even suggested names we will gladly take in place of Arteta... how is that Mediocrity? We just don't want a situation where because Tuchel is having a hard time, we have to get Harry Potter; keeping Tuchel while waiting for someone like Klopp to be ready would have been a wiser decision.

We will gladly support Arteta leaving for someone obviously better, but not for an Harry Potter, we will rather support the slow and steady progress of Arteta than an experimentation that will take us years back. If taking this careful stand make us Mediocres, then so be it. I had thought you Chelsea fans will understand our reasons for not wanting Arteta to be quickly dismissed, considering what is currently going on with your club and knowing there are only few better managers out there; but I guess I am wrong.

You probably need to go back and read the pages before this.

Both coaches have had 1 2nd place finishes (current season ongoing)

Pioli's worst finish in the league is 6th, Arteta's worst finish is 8th in consecutive seasons

Arteta's best UCL finish is the Quarter Finals, Pioli's is the Semi-final

Pioli's best finish in the Europa is the Quarter Finals while Arteta's is the semi-finals

We have agreed to not include budgets, since you agree Arteta has had more financial backing.

Once again, based on the above, the comparison is justified and available facts show Pioli has accomplished more

Good analysis.

But if you are giving the job to look for an upgrade to Arteta, judging from our current level, and looking at this your analysis, would you recommend Pioli to take over from Arteta?

Where was Arterta before coming here, he never managed, he was a bigger risk than those midtables you're mocking.... Are you saying Arterta is the best thing that can happen to Arsenal now?

There is a very big difference between when Arteta came to Arsenal and now.

When Arteta came to Arsenal, we were struggling between mid table and Top 6. Giving a rookie that learned under one of the best managers an opportunity to see what he can do is not much of a big risk, what is needed is to sack him as soon as the team is about to enter relegation zone and nothing much would have been lost.

But giving a Top-2 team to a rookie to manage is not just foolishness but something close to suicide. Nobody would have allowed an Arteta on us if we were where we are now.

There is an adage in Yoruba that translate "if a god cannot better your situation, let him leave you the way you are". So asking us to gamble on an unproven manager that has no guarantee of bettering us at this level is beyond foolishness my brother. I will rather stick with the upward improving Arteta, with hope of him winning a trophy sooner than gamble on another rookie or an unproven manager.

The fact that Arteta improves both himself and team every season is worth more than experimenting with an unsure manager.

Give me Pep or Klopp or Ancelotti or Zidane then we can talk, otherwise leave me alone jeje with Arteta. I need to see Alonso for 1 more season before I rate him.

Last season was a hard one for me

It was hard for every fan because it was for us to win before we bottled it...but nobody claimed it was bottled because of Pep. If there is any excuse for Arteta apart from his lack of experience, is the series of bad injuries that happened. Partey became Partey and just when Elneny was adjusting to the role, he got injured too and we had to rely on Lokonga but then it was Arteta that bought Lokonga so he takes the stick. Then Saliba injury opened our defense like apere.... Nketia tried filling in for Jesus but the rest of the bench were not at par with the 1st eleven. This is the reason we crashed... And yes Arteta takes the lion blame. But he can be forgiven when we consider othe improvements he made on the team.

Didn't Ole solskjaer have an impressive record vs Pep?

You are even using Jamie fûcking carragher as example to buttress your stand. Lmao

Like I said earlier, the Wenger era has really damaged so many things at the club.

I wish Una speedy recovery grin

Lol. If you wish us speedy recovery, what will you wish your team? I am so damn sure you people will be happier to be in Arsenal shoes right now, and if we make the mistake of sacking Arteta your team's fans and the remaining 37 teams will celebrate hiring Arteta.

So let us celebrate our second best 'poor mentality' in peace.

Taking minimum of 4 points from all the top 6 teams this season is an achievement that means Arteta has the potential of being better than Pep, he just need to learn not to take the lesser team for granted and hopefully he will get stronger squad like City so that even if Saka or Saliba or Odegaard are not playing we will not drop in quality. City can still win any game even with Haaland or KDB or any other important player not available.

One of our problems right now is that we don't have equally good substitute for some of our key players, so many of them have to play virtually all the games; that need to change so they don't wear out and suffer fatigue... Like they appear in some of the matches, especially Saka, Odegaard and Saliba.

Some may claim I am making excuse for Arteta, but I make same excuse for Klopp... I still believe Klopp is better than Arteta despite Arteta being the better of the 2 in the past 2 seasons... But I believe that Klopp performances dropped because the club did not strengthen the squad adequately and the team suffered when key players got injured with no adequate substitute.

If we had won last season or by any chance win this season, I will still believe it's team improvement+luck cos as at now irrespective of the results, I still rate Pep and Klopp ahead Arteta, but Arteta is the best Work-in-progress manager out there.

While you have written and made some good points, this, respectfully isn’t the case. On this thread, over and over again, the reason we have failed to win irrespective is because Pep is chasing us which makes absolutely no sense to someone like me.

The toxic positivity is what many of you want some of us to swallow and we have refused it. We have not said Arteta has not improved the team but please don’t tell me he ha also not faltered or fumbled competitions when we were in strong positions to win them and those are the issues.

If after 700M, all we can brag about is finishing 2nd and being competitive then that is an indictment on Arteta considering 2 other big clubs (Chelsea/ United) are in transition and in terrible situations. Arteta is approaching the total net spend of Kloop going into his 5th year.

Wosrsestill, is the barren idea that we can’t criticize or question his position because there is no replacement, I mean! The mentality of this club is soft, too soft especially when it matters and it is not getting better. Pep has been the convenient excuse and it is littered on this thread.

If the goal is to continue spending for top 4 then let’s be on same page about it.

The reality remains that Arteta and 18 other managers are competing with Pep and Pep and his team remains the best or the one to beat. It is what it is.

Like I wrote earlier, Arteta made lots of mistakes and lost some silly points on the line (my wife knows that I have not recovered from our loss to Villa), but all other managers including Pep made mistakes and loss silly matches too, just that Pep errors are less, reason he remains the one to beat.

We all know money alone doesn't guarantee trophies, else we should be fighting for top 6 because 4 other teams in EPL outspent us, but here we are remaining competitive to the very end.

I am yet to see anyone here that supports Arteta and also fails to acknowledge it when Arteta errs, we are all passionate about the club and feel the pain of every loss or drop of points.

Also those of us supporting Arteta still love the club more than Arteta, what we are simply saying is that we should not risk throwing Arteta away without the prospect of getting someone better... To me, if we are not getting Pep or Klopp or Ancelotti or may be Zidane, then let's be patient with Arteta... Since it's obvious the team improves with him every season, we can afford to hope he will reach the peak in 1 or 2 more seasons...than starting a new process with another unproven manager. But should the club announce a discussion with any of these 4 managers I mentioned earlier, you will see many of us dumping Arteta like a plague... because at the end what we want is the club success and not Arteta's success... But for now without getting any of these 4 managers.... Arteta remains our best progress path.

My mentality is make una stop calling pep for una failure
Play rubbish blame pep
Bottle league blame pep
He's the one in charge of arsenal abi

It's pep that instruct the players to play absolute nonsense today right
Well what do I know 🤣🤣

You are missing the point Oyin, or you and few others here just enjoy twisting words to make a point. Nobody here blames Pep for Arteta and his team's mistakes and unwarranted losses... The blames rest squally on Arteta's head.

What we are saying is that all managers including Pep and Arteta make mistakes and silly decisions that cost points, but Pep makes less of those. In other leagues or pre-Pep era on EPL, Arteta would have won many trophies convincingly even with these same errors he made... But Arteta's improvement and errors came in the days of Pep.

Bottom like of our arguments is just stating the obvious; that Pep is so good and he makes less mistakes compare to Arteta and other managers. And for as long as we have such an outstanding manager like Pep in the league, Arteta will need all the luck in the world to beat him on a long run, despite the fact that Arteta took 4points when they both met this season.

And while we admit Arteta is not as good as Pep, we also acknowledge Arteta's effort in improving our team and making our team become competitive. Even though we want trophies and it has not come, we believe in the absent of getting Pep or Klopp or Ancelotti to manage us, the best option is to allow Arteta to continue, hoping that luck and trophies will come to us soon while he continues to improve himself and the quality and mentality of our team. The worse mistake we will make is to go the way of Man United and Chelsea.

Without trophies we are back to square one because the players won't stay
This we know well well

Not necessarily back to square one, every manager should be prepared for a particular player leaving or not being available due to injuries or for other reasons, no matter how good the player is... If any of our current players leaves, I believe Arteta will know an equally good or better replacement.

Let us be realistic please, Arteta will need a little bit of more lucks to win trophies for as long as Pep and Klopp are still in the view... I don't know anyone among us Arsenal fans who rates Arteta in the same level with Pep and Klopp, yet many of us expect Arteta to easily win these trophies.... Pep and Klopp will not be folding their arms and just let go na.

But we should give kudos to Arteta for the fact that our team has become competitive and we are no longer any team's walkover. One thing is SURE, with the way Arteta is improving in this game, trophies are bound to come sooner or later, it is a matter of time and I am not in a hurry. It has been a long time I consistently enjoy watching my team week in week out as I am now... It is not enough for me, I want trophies on top too, but if trophies fail to come, I will still not shout Arteta-Out!

The smile for me here is that; the rookie manager many Arsenal fans would have gladly thrown into the bottom of River Thames has become who many big clubs fans now desire, even when he is yet to win EPL or CL. One of my friends, a Chelsea fan last week was wishing their owner can make an offer Arteta wouldn't be able to refuse... I just told him 'dey play'. grin

I think Arteta owes some of us fans who argued that he be giving a chance to complete the process something... especially after that his 1st full season that ended us nowhere.
