yemitexcel: Seriously, the month I got the car was thesame month I got the job and then it was 50k but later increased it to 75k .. though is a career path even though I am already 35 and a family is growing already. The thing there is that when we are out of the state for external audit, we are given 7k daily and hotel accommodation also.. we can save up to 500k plus in like 2 months from the money clients will tips us but aside the feeding allowance from the firm no additional money. After like 3 months outside state till following year again then we continue with the basic salary. 250k-500k monthly is guaranteed after expenses for a sole proprietor on e-hailing. Note: Not everyone is hustle-oriented.

yemitexcel: Please house, i need advice, I currently earns less than 80k and when we travel between February and june of every year, is possible i save up to 800k but from July to December is just the 70k monthly. Should i resign and use my car for E-hailing fully or i should stick with the job and if i am to resign which state should i move to, Abuja or lagos because i use my car for E-hailing in ibadan when i am around during evening times and weekends. I am open for condemnation and advices thank you all. Are you a career person? If you fancy being a sole proprietor and know how to drive very well, e-hailing is profitable. 80k salary in 2025 is not fresh. |

Much respect, baba. If the car isn't giving him issues, there'll be no need to dispose it. Also, the extra confidence that he is using a genuine part. In the last 4 years I have replaced my front struts 6 times ( 2 Chinese, 4 toks) They are squeaking already. Do the mathematics |

sunnymighty: @Omoapena and Glithronix I contacted someone ( A dealer) and he quoted the following prices for a pair of rear shock absorber for Toyota Camry Big Daddy.
Toyota OEM - 250k Japan - 180k China - 60k.
Only one rear absorber is faulty, but I have decided to change both absorber to China made. Go for the Toyota OEM, it will last a decade. Don't worry, you will make the money back in a week |

SHOOPSYN: I was stopped by police, checked papers. I am using my old plate number on my new car. Which is EXISTING. I have the existing number place registration paper, old proof ownership showing old car. But renewed proof of ownership showing my current car. Now, police said I must have court papers showing I use my old plate on my new car. I was shocked to my anus. .After serious arguments about that, took me to their station, which I won't allow ordinarily( I prefer doing normal than drive inside station) but I was interested to get to see their ogas, hoping they will correct him, their own is even worse, we met 3 different boss, all saying same thing.,Eventually, I concluded, I am dealing with Nigeria police. My mistake is, trying to explaining to them and forgot I am dealing with Nigerian police. This is how it has been for years, just get existing number plate paper. They spoke with the person in charge of my paper renewal, that one makes it worse because she was so annoyed hearing such. You can't drag with them, so is either I wait till Tuesday to go customary court and do the the paper(if there is anything like that) or I do normal. I chose the later... Let the rotting continues. Same police stopped me for old series plate number engraved on my car. Requesting for police report and court affidavit. I showed him a valid allocation of plate number showing the old-new plate number details, previous proof of ownership on the old plate number. I was even ready to show him the old plate numbers sitting in my trunk, but didn't need to drag with the ignorant fellow. I just asked him if the Nigerian police issue plate numbers now? Is it my fault that the Fed govt discontinued the old series plate numbers and lured many of us to pay for new series plate numbers. Last last, I drove off with a smirk on my face. |

The former is in pondering if his Corolla 2010 model is ideal for the hustle and also his situation with his friend. The latter is willing to buy a vehicle but he wants a reliable one within 4-5m range and he is opting for Honda civic.

dru23: I hope the car is tokunbo. If the car is tokunbo than you are in the best position now to pamper the car. Especially since you be the only driver.......
For the oil specifications, factory recommends 0w20.. using the factory recommended oil will help you burn less fuel .....
The engine oil brand of choice is Mobil 1 , fake full plenty pass original. But am your plug for original Mobil 1 .... You can do oil change every 7k miles or 11600km or every six months whichever comes first...
Using the wrong oil will lead to this (pic1)
And using the factory recommended oil and original Mobil 1 will lead to this (Pic 2) Do you have 5w20 on ground sir? Let me buy. Before price changes by mid-year. |

1. it can't be less than 5m isn't 5m, just an assumption which it's definitely going to be more than that.
2. for a newbie, it will be difficult to adjust to the understanding of the hustle before he will be able to find it profitable
3. this is HP which means all maintenance on him, and that's more expenses including his personal expenses.
4. the person making 1m monthly is a pro and that's not his entire take home. See as u dey rub my beards with whining |

dreezy007: Good afternoon house, after 1 month of car search and several car inspections. I was able to see a Camry 2004 in very good condition almost like tokunbo standard.
So i want to ask anyone using same car here for uber/bolt can you please give an insight is it a good ride for this business, I’m just looking at the 2.4l engine compared to 1.8l Corolla.
I have only been searching for Corolla the past one month till I found this Camry in almost tokunbo standard condition for 5.7m If you have 5.7 million to invest, leave 2.4L motors. 1.4 - 1.8L should be your aim. It's the same fares for my 3.5L SUV and 1.8L sedan. In fact, I'm thinking of going fully electric soonest. |

ReadaDream: False... To the best of my knowledge, if your car is registered in any state of the federation but your residential address is Lagos State or you do business with the car in Lagos State, you need a LAGOS worthy certificate. You can argue the first year of registration but subsequently, you may be fined. N.B This information is from Lagos VIS, allegedly. |

UrPapa: Hello guys, I have a newly registered Camry 010 and I plan on giving a friend to use for Uber and stuff These are the questions baffling me 1. The car registration is for another state and he wants to use it in Lagos, is it possible 2. What’s the minimum insurance policy can he get to start up with 3. Is the car profitable for a e-hailing… at least profitable to feed a newly wedded young man with no kid yet 4. What’s other documents is needed for him to register the car on the e hailing apps and drive in Lagos 5. I read where people talk about inter state gigs being better than intra state; How true is it and how can one register that Will respond accordingly: 1. You need a Lagos road- worthy vehicle. Other vehicle documents should be valid 2. Third party insurance is the minimum. 3. It is profitable if driven at least 50hours weekly. 4. No other document 5. Intra state is safer for a newbie. |

dru23: I will advise to use 5w30 instead of 5w20. Since the car is under more wear and tear due to using it for Uber. And me for example, I drive 90% mostly on highway and I do oil change between 7k to 10k miles. Highway driving does not stress the engine compare to city Uber driving o. Your 10k mile oil change is too much. Make it 7k miles using Mobil 1 5w30 high mileage............
My Mobil 1 import from the USA sells for 65k for now. We will always be cheaper and original than most sellers.. We can save you money......
And most importantly engine oil will always be cheaper than engine replacement.... Senior man, i prefer 5w20. It gives me better fuel mileage. Will contact you when I need within the year. Still have 7,500 km to cover. BTW, I meant 15,000km not miles. My error |

tho, the 20w-50 doesn't short oil, I just feel the need to switch to the recommended oil if there will be no side effect to the engine. No |

Omoapena: in essence, you're actually making money but your bad car is the one taking most of it, someone using a very sound car won't experience what you're experiencing. You get it. I change tyres every 10,000 miles. I still have extra set of tyres, waiting for the rear tyres to go bad. I spend 85k for 5w20 synthetic and 10k for Bosch oil filter that will last me 15,000 km. I spend with pride on my sedan cos I know what it generates. My SUV Sits at home year in and out. Only goes out for offline. Yet I dont spend on it like my daily driver sedan. (Mind you, it generated 600k in January alone at zero maintenance). If you are making over 1M monthly, spending less than 200k on your car shouldn't bulge you. |
