YeyeGbami: Owners can only salivate, na rental drivers dey make more money in the game. Car,trucks etc Unequivocally, this has been the order of the day. If car owners want more, they should hit the road and taste the honey pot If driver-partners want to keep more of the income, they should take a loan, get a car and deal with maintenance/other expenses themselves. Personally, I can't give my car to anyone on rental. Even if the driver is willing to pay 100k, I won't be satisfied Like I wrote earlier, I feel this business was intended for sole proprietors. Keep your profit and losses to yourself. |

I feel e-hailing was poised to serve sole proprietors.
However, Driver-partners and vehicle owners must make compromising decisions for smooth partnership.
There are Driver-partners that still pay 25k rental fee weekly.
E-hailing filled a massive unemployment gap. |

HelenaWills: Is 50k for maintenance even realistic? Or doesn't the maintenance include repairs and servicing? It is ooo. Last November, I spent #100,000 on maintenance. December 2025,I spent #220,000. This January/February, I didn't do any maintenance. The reason I spent so much in December was cos I did lube service which cost me almost 100k. I feel I'm spending more on maintenance, cos of the age of the car. |

wait, shey nah that bonny camp wey them lock cause this gridlock?
this amount no pay for this work o, I can imagine the body pain🤦♂️
imagine person wey no get plenty fuel again, indrive drivers go too suffer for that island this period. I don't think we will suffer boss. We just need to restrategise. I understand the bridge closure was a shocker. But we knew it was going to be closed. Infact, LASG had hung advisory plaques on most routes within VI-Ikoyi for over 3 weeks. Allowing many to plan ahead. My heart goes out to the stranded Lagosian's who had to walk long distances home. On my way out, last night, I saw several cars abandoned across the diversion routes. Several others being towed. I even saw a Lexus on fire. LASG should pls expedite the works as it's too late to re-open the bridge (it's been taken apart already). |

lexylexy: Baba how do you get your rides on indrive. I see you're doing about N450/km. Please tell us your secret on how you get such trips and how many trips you do daily. My boss, that's the advantage of indrive I love. Last year, I focused more on long trips. But realised, I spent more on fuel, maintenance and commission. Presently, I do more short trips. And the best time to complete short trips without traffic is @ night. Yes, I'm a night crawler. |

Obedibombedi: Yes. With time and experience you will earn more. "Much respect" started like you, today he's a high flier.
Simple tips : Dont joke with Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
Eat before you leave home. Avoid stimulants.
Decide if it's day-shift or night-shift. Don't combine both, else you will be restless the following day.
Combine all three major apps. With time you will decipher which one suits your work ethics.
Understand demand- zones. ( for instance waiting for request in ICM on a Monday morning).
Don't accept useless requests
You must not work every day.
Read and learn from other experienced drivers.
I'll post more as I can. Be a master at either long trips or short trips, and stick to one. It helps monitor your fuel expenditure. You don't have to please any rider, it's not your responsibility. Take Wait time seriously. Most times I tell my riders(in drive) that I've arrived when I'm about 3mins away. Aim to complete more good trips. Bad trips are also vital for re-positioning. Have a strong goal, it will drive you to keep chasing e-hailing money. What ever you do, ensure your vehicle is pristine from September to December. Don't cheat the system. It's an honest hustle. One can become a multi-millionaire in few years.

Biodun1929: Good day to you all.
I know people don't like to disclose how much they earn, but maybe some people that don't mind to give me an idea of how much they make from this hustle. I drive a Nigeria used KIA Cerato (2006 model) I bought 3 years ago. It's a 2.0 engine car. i'm on Bolt Regular and I got on In drive 4 days ago. Based on the 3 weeks I have done this so far, I'd say I make an average of 20k a week (after removing fuel money)...working 5 days a week. That's pretty low, and I want to know how other people are doing.
Is it because i'm new to the business, or because my car chops fuel. I just want to know.
Thanks in advance. Yes. With time and experience you will earn more. "Much respect" started like you, today he's a high flier. PHEEEMMMY: Hello everyone, I need your honest advice.
I’m 39, currently working as a manager at a private cleaning company (the company cleans banks etc), but the pay is bad—₦100K per month for a master’s holder. I work Monday till Saturday and I barely have any time for any other thing. The job is killing me. I’ve decided it’s time to do something for myself, and I’m looking at joining the ride-hailing business (Uber, Bolt, Indrive, Taxify) in Lagos.
I plan to buy a car in the ₦3M-₦4M range with money from friends and family. But before I take that step, I want to hear from you, the experts. If I were your brother, what would you honestly tell me?
-Is this a smart move? -What kind of car should I go for in this budget? -What are the biggest challenges I should expect? -Can I make decent money, or is it just stress?
I respect your experience, so I want to hear the truth—good or bad. Thanks in advance for your advice! This is the best time to begin. A small 2003 -2007, 1.4L- 1.8L motor would be perfect. A smartphone with at least 8gb RAM. Get all vehicle documents, download all major apps (Uber, indriver and Bolt) and hit the road. In 6months, you'd be geared up to either continue or quit. Last month I only drove for 6 days in all. Havent driven this month, but I still guide P.S: I can't take any salary less than 1.5M monthly Good luck sir. |
