RomanceRe: What Are Bw Looking Into A White Man? by obenda(op): 2:23pm On Jan 06, 2011
Mrs, Eve:
Obenda,

Let me just say this and I will leave you to it. Inkie can't speak for nobody but Inkie. Mrs. Eve can't speak for nobody but Mrs. Eve. Tpia can't speak for nobody but Tpia. So when you said if you represent African women why not share thoughts? That was some of the dumbest poo I ever heard. We are part of a woman's group but we ARE INDIVIDUALLY DIFFERENT. Got it?

There was a icon on that " representing Africa women", got it? But probably irony is not one of your gift. I started this topic just out of simple and sincere curiosity and because here where I live ther are nt so many bw to relate to ask. I thought that here in Naiaraland I could get back some feedback, wether positive or not. Instead I am faced with people that feel this topic very unwelcomed, i realise that each one of you, except few ones, are just thinking that I want to hook up some ladies here or stir some fight.

Well it is not like that.

You was irking my damn nerves.

I am sorry but it is not my fault if you aren't capable of see irony in my text, even if it is signalled by icons. Actually, reconsidering your extensive list of qualities in your ideal guy I relaise that irony and self-irony are missing. Something that I find indispensable in people, not only women.

::sighs:: I understand what you're saying but there is no straight froward answer. For example , the stuff tpia1 mentioned aren't necessarily the things I may like in a caucasian man. Let me give you another example, I was on the train and I saw this tall handsome cauasian man with reddish blond hair and green eyes and I was immediately attracted to him. When i left the train and met my friend in the street, a causasian guy who was average height with with blond hair and I was also attracted to him [lol, he was trying to ask me out but I was totally oblivious  embarassed]. Do you see how different the two men are? Personally for me, I have no preference what I look for in a causasian man. For you to be asking us women such a specific question makes no sense. I'm sorry if this isn't really answering your question but its the truth. What one African woman may like may be displeasure to another just as what you like as an Italian man may differed from what another Italian man may like. Its quite obvious that you don't represent all of Italy so why would you expect one of us to represent all of African. My personal tastes vary from men to men. For me, this is my ideal guy [regardless of their ethnicity], I like a man who possesses the qualities of a renaissance man--He’s self-assured, focused, disciplined, and responsible, yet knows how to let loose and have fun. His intellectual and career interests are balanced with cultural and physical activities. Comfortable in jeans or a tux, this action man throws himself into his pursuits and is willing to fail. In touch with and expressive of his emotions, he exudes compassion and warmth as he crosses social and ethnic boundaries. Gathering eclectic and diverse admirers, the Renaissance Man knows what qualities he’s looking for in a woman and is unlikely to be swayed.
Thanks for your answer, of which I desume that it is our opposite aspects may play a great role attracting partners in BWWM or BMWW relations. A law that is in many way valid for general man/woman relationships and attraction. In fact, it is the color thing that it is attractive (or repulsive if someone dislike other race colour). You mention green eyes and blonde or red hair as attractive, they are impossible to find in black people (at lest the hair); I could mention a lot of physical appearances of BW that I find attractive and can't find in WW.

By the way, and this is said from someone living at the very heart where Renaissance was born, you would be surprised of how many negative angles a Renaissance man had back then. It is enough to read about the lifes of Cosimo de Medici, or the Urbino's Duke to find out how terrible those men were. If you knew them as they really were and not how they were portraited by artists and literates (fed by them) you would not praise the Renaissance man so loud.

ciao

Ok, I'm a bit confused here are you asking us women of Nairaland what we like as individuals or are you asking us to answer for African women as a whole?  huh
Well if you represent all African women as a whole why not? ;-)

C'mon, your individual opinion will be enough, but please go over the " every man that treats me right, no m,atter the color, shape, etc". Just imagine to be on a bus, a white man pops in and you are attracted. Just tell which things that are typical or you can find in white men are intriguing to you.

Sorry, I know that I am asking to be very straight forward, but I don't think it is a taboo to speak out of what's attractive/unattractive between men and women.

thanks

Tpia1 THANKS SO MUCH! This is the first REAL answer to my question. Seeing the link I am glad to see that all girls here have a good eye for beauty. All the boys listed in the linked thread are very nice, it is interesting to note that Enrique iglesias scores best. He is not the blonde-haired guy that I was thinking would score best, say like Brad Pitt.

Clint Eastwood is one of my preferred actors and sure it resumes at its best the white man physical shape - litle pointy noise, high cheekbone, etc - at least the anglosaxon type. Thanks to his movies he also conveys this image of hero, I was surprised to see him as good in the part of the unlucky lover in the movie "the bridges of madison county"

Good to know that Iglesias seems to be liked so much, he's more resembling the southern European style. Unfortunately, I am not that beautiful, I am more in the style of Richard Gere (well probably He would not agree with me).

Tpia1, thanks again. I know that my question could have seemed a bit bizarre but this is the true. I have not seen black people in my countries since recent years, except from the media which NEVER cover Africa anyway, unless there is a tragedy or white people are involved in something. Now that I see black people and now that I am attracted by BW I am always wondering what they would like in a white man. We have so many physical differences that I am curious to know which one is likely to attract the other race partner. Sure I am attracted by some aspects that White women don't have, or at least not in general. For instance, I noticed that some black women have larger shoulders and a more erect stance, I don't know if that depends on the habit of carrying things on your head, but I like it. It gives black women a very good posture, some of you do really walk like a queen.

Look, one of the great thing I have learned is that you have exposed to things to truly comprehend and appreciate them. 20 years ago I found that facial features of black people not attracting, that's because I was dipped down in western style beauty canon. Nowadays, I started to like them, just because I see REAL people and more and more that I see them I find this sight natural and my beauty canon changes accordingly.

A couple of us have given you an answer. Seems like you were looking for a more specific answer. Look, we're all different so our answers will vary--we're not robots or clones that just spit out one specific answer. All I can say is, if/when you meet an African woman, just be yourself. If at some point in time she mentions where she's from then perhaps you can do some research on her county's culture to help you get to know her better [culturally speaking].
Yes I look for specific answers since my question was specific. I have not asked any of you for a SINGLE, homogeneous answer. I don't consider none of you as robots or clones.

For instance: do you prefer pointy or not pointy nose in white men?
Do you prefer  blu or black guys?

Do you prefer slim or large men?

I know that a set of aspects you prefer can be found both in white or black men, ok. But I am interested to know if some physical differences - which is typical of white men -is appealing to you just because it is DIFFERENT.

Fpr example, can you list me some white actors that you find attractive?

no ! there are interesting ladies on Nairaland >>> that you don't meet them doesn't mean they aren't there >>> the thing is that you are new >>> post around and get attention >>> when you bring up this kind of topic >>> you'll be suprised at the response >>> PEACE
Well, I won't move to Nairaland unless i have some opsitive answers to my question.  wink Why should plan a trip to Nigeria when I don't know what black women are thinking what a good looking white man should be? It would be a waste of time and money if it turned out that black women don't like me.

Ten there are plenty of places which are easier for me to get to and where I can meet black ladies (UK, FRANCE and the US)

I understand this topic can put some people not at ease but I don't care at all. Sorry for you if your public status does not allow you to state what you think. Instead I keep coming through posts where women do like to state they are strong sisters and so on, huh

why don't you try hookin' up a lady on Nairaland >>> first hand experience is really what counts

@ topic >>> i do no think there is anything unique that BW need to see in a white dude >>> i surmise they look for what any lady wants trust and affection
I don't like hook up in the Internet, I don't even have a Facebook profile. But from the anser I see I understand that my question is not interesting, every answer is so abstract and general, or maybe women here are bnot so bold to state what they really think?

HI, i tried to reply to sinle posts but I can't see how---sorry.

To Mrs EVE: I' am interested in any useful answers. Yes I do like BW, but I am not here trying to get dated. Here's my history: when I was younger (now I'm 40) there were not black people in Italy, at least in the area where I've grown up. My idea of a beautiful woman was composed both of my preference and by cultural influences. I liked white girls and if you asked me then what top model i preferred teh probable answer was Claudia schiffer and not Naomi Campbell. I realised that Naomi was a beautiful woman but she was not sexy to me, could you believe that?

I recall to have an argument with a friend where I said that Naomi was great but I was indifferent to her beauty. It was legitimate to say that but nowadays, I smile to my old myself. Now that I like black girls I realise HOW MUCH cultural influences are powerful. With more and more black people around in Italy I started to look at different faces and bodies and almost completely changed my preferences. Now I stared to like black noses, lips, eyes and bodies, while before I didn't like them, probably because I could not see their beauty.

In recent years I have been dancing salsa and there I got contact with Cuban and other Caribbean people. My eyes opened to other kind of beauties and the process is still going on. It is also embarrassing for me and for the black girls I meet occasionally on the bus, shopping, etc. It is not polite to stare people but you know, when you are to be accustomed to other facial features and bodies, you need time to look, to observe the details in order to understand what is attractive or not. It is like i am "learning" a new language, a redefinition of what is beautiful.

I am still in this "learning process", and I know what I like in BW, that is I can make my personal list of aspects:

1. I like eye cat eyes, that is not big eyes (like some WW have) but thin eyes

2. I do like all the normal black body differences (bigger and higher backside), skin aspects

3. I do also like BW hair. I do understand that white girls hair is more silky and easier to dress, but sincerely I Don't understand why many BW are so desperate about their curly hair and crave to change them. Ok I underatnd tahta when you are fed up with a style and you want to change it you need to spend hours at the hairdresser, but it STRIKES me that - at least here - NO bW is leaving their hair natural,

4. NO need to make up. When a Bw is beautiful she really doesn't need to use make up while WW, even the MOST beautiful ones, are different of they use make up

OK, now some black woman would please tell me what they like in White men face, body, etc huh

To Area boy: please not all what they say of Italian guys is true, they are just stereotypes.

to sista-ja : please answer my question
RomanceWhat Are Bw Looking Into A White Man? by obenda(op): 1:43pm On Jan 04, 2011
HI all,

I'm new of the forum, I'm Italian and male. I would like to know what are the physical aspects that BW look upon when they date white men.

My curiosity arises from the fact that in recent years I have found more and more black women attractive but I am not able to say if I am attractive for them. Let me explain that Italy is not a melting pot country, residents foreigners account only to 7-8% of the total population and only 1/3 of foreigners are black people.

Most of the black people are coming from Senegal and other West Africa countries (Ivory Coast and Nigeria), or from Somalia (a previous colony of Italy). An most of this share of black people is composed by men, so it is RARE to see black women to ask to. And when you find one that is not the first question you may ask,

I've read a lot of threads here in Nairaland on this topic and I know that the overall answer to my question will be : "it does not matter the colour, body shape, facial features and so on, as long you like her". I totally agree with that BUT it is not what i am looking for. I therefore ask here to all participants to do an extra-effort to state what are the physical white men characteristics they like , or , better, the ones that in their opinion, are those necessary to be considered good looking. Please refer also to celebrities if you want to show examples.

You might find this topic a bit bizarre or rude: I realised that the forum is mainly participated by people living in the USA, I don't want my tipic to be considered as a race issue. Please bear with me and with may naivete, but I'd like to have honest answers. Please bear in mind that mind is just sake of knowledge.

bye
