EducationKogi Poly Uncovers Certificate Forgery Scammers by Obgist(op): 6:31pm On Oct 31, 2025
Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has uncovered a certificate forgery syndicate involving both staff and fake students.

According to the Rector, Prof. Salisu Ogbo, five staff members have been suspended, while four fake students are already in custody.

“We discovered about 30 forged ND certificates that were sold to unsuspecting buyers,” he revealed. “Some of them even used the fake results to apply for HND in our school.”

The Rector said the racket was exposed through routine checks by the school’s Admission, ICT, and Security Units, which uncovered massive manipulation of student records.

He vowed that those involved will be brought to justice, adding that the management won’t tolerate acts that tarnish the institution’s reputation.

“We will not relent in our efforts to clean up the system,” Prof. Ogbo assured.

Foreign AffairsAI Minister In Albania ‘gets Pregnant’ With 83 Babies — And She’s Not Even Human by Obgist(op): 4:01pm On Oct 31, 2025
If you thought 2025 had already shown us enough surprises, think again — because this one sounds straight out of a sci-fi movie!

Reports say Albania’s Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Diela, is “pregnant” with 83 babies. But here’s the shocker — Diela isn’t human at all. She’s an AI chatbot! 😲

According to Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, the so-called “birth” refers to the creation of 83 new digital assistants, each one designed to help lawmakers in parliament — taking notes, reminding MPs of meetings, and tracking their legislative work. Basically, it’s like having 83 little ChatGPTs working for the government.

Who Exactly Is Diela?

Diela was first introduced earlier this year as a chatbot built by the Albanian government in partnership with Microsoft. She started out as a virtual assistant helping citizens process documents and access public services online.

By September 2025, she was upgraded and officially appointed as the world’s first AI Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. The government said it was part of a push for transparency and efficiency — after all, as the Prime Minister joked, “You can’t bribe an algorithm.”

But not everyone is celebrating this tech milestone. Critics are already pointing to Article 100 of Albania’s Constitution, which clearly says that only natural persons can serve as ministers. Since Diela is a machine with no human status or citizenship, many are questioning the legality and accountability of her position.

If Diela makes a mistake, who takes the blame her developers, the government, or the AI itself? That’s the kind of legal and ethical dilemma experts are now debating.

While some countries like the US, UK, and Germany use AI tools to assist with governance, none have gone this far — giving an actual ministerial title to an AI and now talking about her “digital pregnancy.”

‎Many observers say Diela’s 83 “babies” are symbolic, but they raise serious questions about how far AI should go in politics and decision-making.

Nairaland GeneralWhy Nigerian Celebrities Land Global Endorsements While Local Brands Lag Behind by Obgist(op): 8:23pm On Aug 03, 2025
Let’s be real, Nigerian celebrities are blowing up on the international scene! Burna Boy performing at the Champions League final, Tems writing tracks for Hollywood blockbusters, even influencers from BBN landing foreign brand deals.

Meanwhile, what are many Nigerian companies doing? Still pricing endorsement deals like it’s 2005, or just slapping faces on billboards without a real strategy.

Here’s the Facts:
Foreign brands see the bigger picture. They’re not just paying for clout they’re building long-term partnerships. They understand the vibe economy, the cultural weight Nigerian stars carry, online and offline.

But local brands? Many still don’t get it. That’s why Pepsi, Adidas, even Netflix are taking the lead, working with our own stars to sell back to us.

I believe it’s time Nigerian businesses woke up. Support the rising stars. Don’t wait till they’ve “blown.” Build with them early. Create stories — not just static ads.

Because right now, our celebrities are global. But are our brands thinking global?

What do you guys think? Are local brands too slow or just underfunded?
