Foreign Affairs › Trump-kim Summit To Be Held On Singapore's Sentosa Island by obixcel(op): 4:00pm On Jun 06, 2018
The much-anticipated meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un will take place at a hotel on the Singaporean island of Sentosa, the White House has confirmed.

The 12 June summit was called off two weeks ago by Mr Trump but has since been salvaged after a flurry of contacts between the two sides.

Mr Trump said on Tuesday that plans were "moving along very nicely".

The US wants Mr Kim to commit to giving up his nuclear weapons.

But it is unclear exactly what is on the table for the discussions in Singapore. Mr Trump has suggested the first meeting will kick off a longer process of negotiations, calling it a "get-to-know-you situation".

"A lot of relationships being built, a lot of negotiations going on before the trip," he told reporters on Tuesday. "It's very important - it'll be a very important couple of days."

The summit would represent the first ever meeting between a North Korean leader and a sitting US president.

Foreign Affairs › Breaking!! President Trump Announces June 12 Summit With North Korea Is Back On by obixcel(op): 9:03am On Jun 02, 2018
President Donald Trump said Friday that the planned summit with North Korea in Singapore is back on, roughly one week after the president sent a letter to Kim Jong Un calling off the planned June 12th summit.

The announcement came after an envoy of North Korean officials hand-delivered a letter to the president from North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

"We'll be meeting on June 12 in Singapore. It went very well," the president told reporters following the letter-delivery. "The relationships are building and that's a very positive thing.

I saw this coming....but I believe the summit will still go on as scheduled. Kim insulted VP Pence and POTUS pulled the plug..He's not afraid to walk away from the table if need be, unlike Obama that was cowed in submission by China despite the insults at him. So far, as far as Asian politics is concerned, President Trump's foreign policy has excelled and done far better than his Predecessors.

MY PREDICTION

THE JUDGEMENT WILL BE OVERTURNED

grin grin grin

It was rightly pointed out and yes it's true,
- This is his personal account and so he can do and undo as he wishes
- Twitter isn't a party to this suit
- This is in fact quite the opposite, and that is, an infringement on President Trump's own first amendment right as first, an INDIVIDUAL CITIZEN before you talk about him being PRESIDENT. The Office of the President does not erode the Individual right of whoever occupies that office

NOTE: Imagine the decision/Judgement was upheld, this sets a bad precedence for not just future Presidents to come but for INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS as a whole. Remember, it's a double edged sword and it cuts both ways; You can't shoot yourself on the foot, break all the common sense rules simply because you don't like Trump. So those in favour of the current judgement should think twice.

Foreign Affairs › Nine Times President Donald Trump Has Referred To MS-13 Gang Members As ‘animals by obixcel(op): 3:48pm On May 18, 2018
President Donald Trump has a history of referring to MS-13 gang members as “animals” who rape, torture, and kill Americans, particularly during discussions about border security or illegal immigration.

He did it again on Wednesday, during an immigration round table, but mainstream news outlets and Democrats quickly accused him of describing immigrants as animals.

The president noted on Thursday that he frequently refers to gang members as animals and will continue doing so.

“When the MS-13 comes in, when the other gang members come into our country, I refer to them as animals and guess what, I always will,” he said in response to the controversy.

Here is a list of nine other instances when Trump has referred to gang members as “animals” since he was inaugurated as President of the United States. (This list does not include his references on the campaign trail in the 2016 presidential election.)

1. Campaign rally in Pennsylvania March 10, 2018

''Places that I know so well are loaded up with MS- 13. … They don’t use guns. They like to use knives and other things because it is much more painful. It is much slower. These are animals. And we send these guys out and we liberate those towns. We liberate them''.

2. CPAC speech – February 23, 2018

''Now, they don’t like guns. You know why? They’re not painful enough. These are animals. They cut people. They cut them. They cut them up in little pieces and they want them to suffer. And we take them into our country because our immigration laws are so bad''.

3. Remarks on school safety, February 22, 2018

''The gangs are such a problem. You know, we talk about child safety. The kids walk home and they meet one of these gangs. And these are absolute animals. These aren’t human beings; these are animals. And it’s the torture — the level of torture. In this country, who would ever believe a thing like this could happen? But we’re literally getting MS-13 out by the thousands''.

4. Cabinet meeting at the White House December 20, 2017

''We’re restoring immigration enforcement at levels that our country has never seen before, and taking the fight to the criminal gangs like MS-13, where we’re decimating those animals. They’re animals. What they do is horrible, horrible''.

5. Campaign rally in Pensacola, Florida December 8, 2017

''America is being respected again abroad and we are taking care of our citizens at home. And we’re going to have safety. And we have got a lot more now. We are getting rid of the M.S. 13 animals''.
…
''It’s time for Congress to adopt a pro-American immigration agenda … Increasing the number of ICE officers, who are fantastic, and Border Patrol officers so we can dismantle vile criminal gangs like, as I said, MS-13, animals''.

6. Political rally in Phoenix, AZ August 22, 2017

''They don’t shoot people, because it’s too fast and not painful. They cut them up into little pieces. These are animals''.

7. Remarks by President Trump to Law Enforcement Officials on MS-13 – July 28, 2017

''I was reading — one of these animals was caught — in explaining, they like to knife them and cut them, and let them die slowly because that way it’s more painful, and they enjoy watching that much more. These are animals''.
…
''They have transformed peaceful parks and beautiful, quiet neighborhoods into bloodstained killing fields. They’re animals''.

8. Campaign rally in Youngstown, Ohio – July 25, 2017

''You’ve seen the stories about some of these animals. They don’t want to use guns, because it’s too fast and it’s not painful enough. So they’ll take a young, beautiful girl, 16, 15, and others and they slice them and dice them with a knife because they want them to go through excruciating pain before they die. And these are the animals that we’ve been protecting for so long''.

9. Campaign rally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa – June 21, 2017

''They don’t like to shoot people. They like to cut people. They do things that nobody can believe. These are true animals. We are moving them out of the country by the thousands, by the thousands'.

Health › U.S First Lady, Melania Trump Recovering After Kidney Procedure by obixcel(op): 2:40pm On May 15, 2018
First lady Melania Trump is recovering from an embolization procedure that she underwent Monday to treat a benign kidney condition, the White House announced — just minutes after word of former Sen. Harry Reid's operation to treat his pancreatic cancer spread.

Mrs. Trump, 48, likely will remain under observation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for the duration of the week, communications director Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.

The news of Mrs. Trump's hospitalization came as a shock, as many Americans were unaware she had a kidney condition. The day before, she was wishing everyone a "Happy Mother's Day" on Twitter.

NOTE:

What is an 'embolization procedure'?
Embolization procedures are performed to cut off blood supply to a tumor, aneurysm or abnormal growth, typically growing in the kidney or liver, to shrink the foreign mass.

"In this procedure, an interventional radiologist uses imaging guidance to insert a catheter into a primary artery and advance it to blood vessel leading to a tumor or other area where the bloody supply needs to be blocked," Cancer Treatment Centers of America explains in a post on its website.

Since the surgery is non-invasive, recovery time tends to be quick. Patients are usually monitored for about 2 hours after the procedure. If vital signs are strong and patients can walk down a long hall with a nurse successfully, then they're generally discharged that same day, according to Northwestern Medicine.

"Kidney embolization procedures are generally well tolerated," John Friedewald, M.D., medical director of kidney and pancreas transplantation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, told Women's Health on Monday, adding that it causes only minor side effects such as fever, pain or bleeding at the injection spot.

What is a benign kidney condition?
When an abnormal mass is "benign," that means it's non-cancerous and contained, meaning it won't spread to the rest of the body. It's unclear whether Mrs. Trump had a benign tumor (angiomyolipoma), cyst or other unusual growth — but, as the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) points out, a "simple kidney cyst" is the most common benign kidney condition.

"A simple cyst is a round or oval fluid-filled sac. One or more cysts can develop in a kidney," the CCS explains, adding that it's most common in adults 50 years or older.

It's actually pretty hard to identify a kidney condition, experts say.

"Most kidney masses... are discovered incidentally - meaning that they are found by chance during radiologic studies obtained for an unrelated medical condition," the Mayo Clinic says.

Foreign Affairs › Hillary Clinton To Australians: People 'uneasy With Women In Leadership' by obixcel(op): 2:20pm On May 15, 2018
Hillary Clinton recently took another trip abroad where she discussed her 2016 election loss to Donald Trump.

Speaking in Melbourne, Clinton asked in jest that the audience "forget that I got three million more votes -- it's over," in reference to her popular vote win, as compared with her Electoral College loss.

"There is still a very large proportion of the population that is uneasy with women in positions of leadership," said Clinton, who previously visited India to discuss the election.

"So, the easiest way to kind of avoid to have to look at someone on her merits is to dismiss her on her looks," she continued.
In her remarks, Clinton also said her opponents would say "I'm not against women" while wearing apparel that mocked her.

During the campaign, Clinton critics marketed shirts calling for her to be imprisoned, as well as one borrowing the stylized "Hope" image made popular by President Obama, to accuse Clinton's husband Bill of sexual assault.

Clinton said such t-shirts said "horrible things" about her, and that they appeared to make her the exception: "I'm not for 'that' woman."

Watched this movie yesterday. Thought it was okay... barely. Loved the soundtrack and all the song scenes in the movie, but the actual narrative I found dull, cliche, and uninteresting. The whole movie was basically a whole bunch of circus-themed music videos that had scenes in between it to try and make a narrative. Probably won't watch again. 5/10
