Before the European comes to africa, the land is ours and they have their bible. When they came they taught us how to pray by closing our eyes and by the time we opened our eyes they heard the land and we owned the bible.
In yoruba land, God (olohun) is known as the supreme being whom they believed to have created the earth and also Devil (esu) is known as and anti God being, so it is not until European intervention that all this is known in yoruba land. Hence yoruba people have been serving God before intervention of the white man e.g stealing is a sin in yoruba land before the bible comes
According to the yorubas God sent orishAs to create the earth and some of which are oduduwa, oruminla and co and it is through this orisha that the people serve God.
Oruminla as the one the orisha of God and who came physically to earth as a prophet. He is the Orisha of wisdom, knowledge, and divination.He is "Ibikeji Olodumare" (second in command to God) and "eleri ipin" (witness of faith ). It was also Orunmila who carried Ifá (the wisdom of God) to Earth.
During his era on earth, people consult him for help and he solved the people's problem through his divine knowledge and he also help them to know which offering or sacrifice to be made to God to answer their prayers.
When the white man comes, through the introduction of some technology that freak the yoruba man, he gives them the bible and blind their brain against their beliefs. The yoruba man now believe their prophet are fake because they perform rituals to their God
Similarly in the bible numerous of rituals and sacrifice was performed to pleads to the almighty God but the people fail to notice this till date.
My conclusion is that different prophet are sent to different set of people on earth and oruminla and his true followers will make heaven
