But you have to show proof that it is unauthorized charges and the bank has to clear the air on that before you send in your complaint, so that many people will not just start taking knee jerk reactions and send in complaints when they have not talked with the bank on what transpired in their accounts. If the bank does not give you a comfortable explanation (which they will surely try to do) then you can send in your complaint.

Mali hotel 'attacked by gunmen' in Bamako

Gunmen have launched an attack on the Radisson Blu Hotel in the centre of Mali's capital, Bamako, witnesses say.

"Apparently it's an attempt to take hostages. The police are there and are sealing off the area," a security source told Reuters news agency.

Automatic weapon fire could be heard from outside the 190-room hotel, AFP reports.

BBC Afrique's Abdourahmane Dia says the US-owned hotel is popular with expats working in Mali.

In August, suspected Islamist gunmen killed 13 people, including five UN workers, during a hostage siege at a hotel in the central Malian town of Sevare.

The US embassy in Bamako has tweeted that it "is aware of an ongoing active shooter operation at the Radisson Hotel".

All US citizens were asked "to shelter in place" and "encouraged to contact their families".

"It's all happening on the seventh floor, jihadists are firing in the corridor," a security source told AFP.

Jihadists launch assault with automatic weapons at hotel in capital frequented by Western officials, at least 3 dead.

Muslim terrorists opened fire on an upscale hotel on Friday in the city of Bamako, the capital of the western African state of Mali, taking 170 people hostage.

The jihadists used automatic weapons according to security sources in their assault on the Radisson Blu Hotel. Some reports indicate that at least three people have died in the attack.

"They have locked in about 140 guests and about 30 employees," a spokesperson for the Carlson Rezidor group that owns the hotel told NBC News. "So the hotel is locked down and there is no possibility to go out or come in."

"As per our information the persons who have entered the building and have initiated the hostage-taking have locked the property, so it is not locked by police or other forces," the spokesperson added.

The luxury hotel, which has 190 rooms, is a popular site for Western officials according to French-language media.

According to the French RFI radio, the attack was launched by three assailants who entered the hotel with diplomatic cars.

Security forces have set up a cordon around the building, and a security source told AFP that "it's all happening on the seventh floor, jihadists are firing in the corridor."

Mali's capital was also targeted back in May, when a restaurant was attacked and four people were murdered, among them two Malians as well as a French and Belgian citizen.

In the town of Sevare in central Mali, jihadist terrorists in August murdered 13 people including five UN workers at a hostage crisis in a hotel.
