I think the media has done a real disservice on this USAID closure story.
They have told the story more of consequences for the US rather than consequence for people who relied on these services and what happens when they are shut down overnight.

Was talking to a friend who works at the World Bank, she was telling me how much of partnership USAID had with a lot of these aid organizations. That a lot of people were going to be affected.

It dawned on me more that people will most likely die because of this decision. A lot of people.

If he wanted to make the argument he had the power to and the programs were a waste he should have at least given the partners 3 months to find alternatives or slow shut them down.
