@Obiwannn bros, I've done that transfer to Acco-Tuhh. Though being pressed for time, I opted to use Access bank as they had a shorter timeline for transfer than GT bank. Access bank took approximately 2 days to initiate and complete the transfer. |
Adding to what has already been said about transferring the blocked account money, I was at GT Bank with my documents, and they said it can be done there also. Be sure to go along with your first degree certificate, NYSC discharge certificate, Admission letter, proof of the amount to be transferred (letter sent by the bank in Germany), international passport, and the print out of the visa requirement by the German embassy (though the person I spoke with at GTB said it was not needed). I would also advise those who are in states where these banks have their headquarters to head to the various headquarters to do it, because I was told the documents would still be transferred to the bank's headquarters for treatment (for GT Bank, this is somewhere in VI, Lagos), and this is what makes it take longer than expected. Normally, it should take a day or two to initiate and complete the transfer, according to them. |
@Ahbbiey interesting insight, thanks for clarifying that. @ednutoyekan please do provide complete information next time, so people can better know how to advise you. |
1. If you've secured admission already, I would say the need to certify documents at the German embassy has become redundant. Though you may still do this, may you so choose (probably for application to some other schools). 2. Having an admission does not in any way guarantee that you'd get a student visa, though it's the first requirement in the process. 3. a)First you go to the German embassy to open a blocked account, if you're using a blocked account (the documents needed for opening a blocked account were explained in detail some pages or so back). b) Using the slip you are given on the day you open your blocked account, you apply for your visa interview (here you'd need to attach a copy of your admission letter, the slip given at the embassy, and a copy of your passport data page). c) The checklist of documents you would need for the visa interview can be found on the German embassy's website. ednutoyekan: |
Also, I believe if you can get one original transcript from your school, and get them to send it to a location where you can pick it up, you can make clear copies of this and take it to the German embassy for certification. I should think these certified transcripts from the German embassy should suffice for the intended purpose. And no, don't use a student copy! hadassaheke: |
