Our God is king indeed, both old and young came out, the turn-up was so much, I begin to wonder how come about the so much crowd, because when we were about starting the procession the crowd was not too much like that, but i noticed the crowd suddenly increased. The 3 different choirs with their different uniforms performed wonderfully, what about the CWO i didn't know they can sing so well, the Ewe society danced their cultural style, the CBIU i don't know what to say, the Legionairies so beautiful, how many i wan name, all for him. JOURNEY WITH THE SAINTS When spiritual persons cannot meditate, they should learn to remain in God's presence with a loving attention and a tranquil intellect, even though they seem to themselves to be idle. For little by little and very soon the divine calm and peace with a wondrous, sublime knowledge of God, enveloped in divine love, will be infused into their souls. St. John of the cross. |
Today's Saint St. Catherine of Alexandria (c. 310) According to the Legend of St. Catherine, this young woman converted to Christianity after receiving a vision. At the age of 18, she debated 50 pagan philosophers. Amazed at her wisdom and debating skills, they became Christians—as did about 200 soldiers and members of the emperor’s family. All of them were martyred. Sentenced to be executed on a spiked wheel, Catherine touched the wheel and it shattered. She was beheaded. Centuries later, angels are said to have carried the body of St. Catherine to a monastery at the foot of Mt. Sinai. Devotion to her spread as a result of the Crusades. She was invoked as the patroness of students, teachers, librarians and lawyers. Catherine is one of the 14 Holy Helpers, venerated especially in Germany and Hungary. Quote “Therefore I [King Solomon] prayed, and prudence was given me; I pleaded, and the spirit of Wisdom came to me. I preferred her to scepter and throne, and deemed riches nothing in comparison with her, nor did I liken any priceless gem to her;/ Because all gold, in view of her, is a little sand, and before her, silver is to be accounted mire. Beyond health and comeliness I loved her, and I chose to have her rather than the light, because the splendor of her never yields to sleep. Yet all good things together came to me in her company, and countless riches at her hands; and I rejoiced in them all, because Wisdom is their leader, though I had not known that she is the mother of these” (Wisdom 7:7-12). |
I read the portions you gave me but my real problem is how to revive the Spirit. I really want to but chance and few other things have been my hindrances. I don’t want a situation whereby I will be forcing myself to do the normal things expected of me. In the past, I derived joy participating in any Church activities – I was not forcing myself. My participation in the last Devotion was as if someone was pushing me to the Church. Unlike when I used to go freely!Ebos we know the flesh is weak, but the spirit is willing and it can never be by our own power and to revive the Spirit is not by magic, thats why you have to call upon the Holy Spirit to give you strength. Remember the "Come Holy Spirit prayer, " you can pray it as often as you can. Attend daily mass, then watch and see the transformation. You know, when you lose physical contact with maybe 95% of your friends who reason the way you do – it becomes difficult to move on with the new friends you make because getting the type of friends you want is not all that easy. It’s easy to make new friends but very difficult to know who will blend with you. It takes a long time to know who’s who before you begin to retrace from them.Try and make friends with those that are serious with the things of God. Remember the adage that says "show me your friends and i will tell you who you are" So select your friends. I don't need to tell u this, u need to make some sacrifice to get what you want. The Scripture said it, if your right or left hands cause you to sin cut it off, , you know the conclusion. @Everyone, especially Ebos and Viee Good day all, what a wonderful day. So can we know those who attended the procession and the experiences gathered. I thank God i was able to make it, we left the Church around 2pm and ended around 5pm and the experience was wonderful, some groups were carried away, even when we arrived the final destination. It was like it should not end, Every society with their different societal uniforms, it made it so colorful. |
Thats what i call the Spirit. God will surely help them to rise again. I was very weak like that before, but thank God who helped me up again. We have vigil today in preparation for the procession, we started with 9 days novena in my parish. |

@alliednetw You get time o |
@Ebos and Viee What i always do is that everyday on my way to the office, i have made it compulsory to be saying at least a decade of the Rosary everyday before i get to my office i am through saying it. I use my finger Rosary. The enemy is trickish, he can device so many strategies to pull us down, but we have to say no, and let our no be no. And always ask for the Grace of God to follow him. JOURNEY WITH THE SAINTS This Lord of ours is so anxious that we should desire him and strive after his companionship that he calls us ceaselessly, time after time, to approach him; and this voice of his is so sweet. St. Teresa of Avila |
Today's Saint Blessed Miguel Agustín Pro (1891-1927) ¡Viva Cristo Rey! (Long live Christ the King) were the last words Father Pro uttered before he was executed for being a Catholic priest and serving his flock. Born into a prosperous, devout family in Guadalupe de Zacatecas, he entered the Jesuits in 1911 but three years later fled to Granada, Spain, because of religious persecution in Mexico. He was ordained in Belgium in 1925. He immediately returned to Mexico, where he served a Church forced to go “underground.” He celebrated the Eucharist clandestinely and ministered the other sacraments to small groups of Catholics. He and his brother Roberto were arrested on trumped-up charges of attempting to assassinate Mexico’s president. Roberto was spared but Miguel was sentenced to face a firing squad on November 23, 1927. His funeral became a public demonstration of faith. He was beatified in 1988. Quote During his homily at the beatification Mass, Pope John Paul II said that Father Pro “is a new glory for the beloved Mexican nation, as well as for the Society of Jesus. His life of sacrificing and intrepid apostolate was always inspired by a tireless evangelizing effort. Neither suffering nor serious illness, neither the exhausting ministerial activity, frequently carried out in difficult and dangerous circumstances, could stifle the radiating and contagious joy which he brought to his life for Christ and which nothing could take away (see John 16:22). Indeed, the deepest root of self-sacrificing surrender for the lowly was his passionate love for Jesus Christ and his ardent desire to be conformed to him, even unto death.” |
Can you meditate of these chapters tonite, then we will talk more tomorrow, i have to run down to mass; Please pray with it; Rom. 8:31-39 |
the procession starts with prayer. Like the Legionairies they say up to the 20 decades of the Rosary, Is after the prayers then Praises. It depends on Parishes. |
That’s Jesus, brutally bruised, marching toward Calvary just to gain Salvation for us all. He was pierced for my sake. But how much have I done to show appreciation?Is so touchy |
@Ebos Which society in Church do you belong to or you belong to b4? Belonging to society helps a lot, is not only coming to Sunday mass and you will wait until the next sunday. (that is sunday sunday tonic) |
Start with the procession on Sunday and as you are moving around, your prayer point should be "God please i need the anointing of strength and also the re-enkindle the zeal in me again to work for you. Ebos you can as well book mass for that intention and make sure you attend. If God sees that seriousness in you to return back, he too will come to your aid. And please we all should put Ebos into our individual prayers. You will be in my prayers this night. |
Visualizing the angels and saints giving me a ground red carpet welcome and thinking of the songs that would be sang that day by the angels and saints of God. |
