No one is excluding anyone. Nigeria is an amalgamated entity comprised of 3 regions. To attain power, two regions combine against the other. In 2015, Tinubu aligned with the North to get Jonathan out of power and went from opposition to incumbent president. In 2016, the perfect opportunity presented itself for the Southeast to have a foot in the door, but they bought Tinubu's propaganda and joined him in screaming "turn of the South." Well, news flash! The North already has an existing, albeit strained alliance with Tinubu. They made him president. Worse case scenario, it takes nothing away from the North to let him continue. At the end of the day, when the spoils are being shared, one region will claim victimhood but they passed up on the opportunity to play the politics. Nothing goes for nothing!

Makinde will learn the hard way. Wike has shown you several times that he is not a man to be ignored like that. As it is, no credible candidate has indicated any interest to contest under the PDP, because it is risky and volatile. Instead of divisive and belligerent speech like this, a reconciliatory journey should be embraced. Both Igbos and the Yorubas should unite and cooperate. We may even call the bluff of the Northerners and hand over to another southerner from the East though and certainly not PO. That man is too dull for my liking.

It was this same reasoning that scattered PDP before elections. It is the time of the South and you're saying Atiku should contest. Will you say the same thing when it is the turn of the North? In all fair play, it should be a southern candidate that the opposition should rally round. Whether Tinubu or whoever wins, the turn of the north is 2031. The north should rather support Obi to run for one term, then the ticket goes back to the North. In the absence of this, let Tinubu continue till 2031.

The point is that equality and fair play must be seen to be in place, otherwise there will continue to be rancor and cries of marginalization. The North should rally behind a southern candidate, whether it is Tinubu or Peter Obi, or whoever. Otherwise, the opposition will end up scattered again. Any mistake for Atiku to emerge as the flagbearer with Obi as the vice, that ticket will be dead on arrival. This is a ticket that should have been worked out in 2023, with Obi as the flagbearer because it was the turn of a Southern presidency.

And tinubu waited for Gej to complete the turn of the south before aligning with buhari?
