After you successfully declare independence unilaterally (And assuming the unlikely scenario where there is no civil war), Biafra will transition to an era of global isolation,

All UN countries that have diplomatic relationship with Nigeria will never recognize Biafra as a country, since it is against diplomatic protocols to disrespect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of recognized countries, and in this case, Nigeria.

The sad truth here is that the international community does not like cessation, even though the right to self-determination is enshrined in the UN charter, especially when it is done unilaterally. That's why you probably havent heard of countries like Abkhazia, Transnistria, South Ossetia, Somaliland, etc.

The only way for Biafra to break by force without being decimated by the full force of the Nigerian military, and also support from its allies (eg Ecowas, the West, etc) is if a stronger military backs it up, eg Russia or China, but they won't, because of the reasons cited above.
