Tactically, Brighton is the most complex team in the epl. Liverpool lost 3 nil there. Losing 1 nil is a wonderful achievement if you ask me.

The most annoying part is the lackadaisical display.

Look at Everton midfielders and attackers putting in a shift and winning balls. Rashford will be walking around expecting the defenders and Casemiro to win the ball back so that he can lose chances.

you don't get the point. Man United doesn't have that management luxury.
Jack Grealish is an example. if it is taking time to work, he goes out of the firing line for some time and the pressure on his back lessens because the team is doing well anyways. the cost of a player, new environment, unfamiliar system may not work immediately. Phil Foden is no longer a starter. Luka Modric is another example. you should have gotten the point.
If Mbappe moves to Man City today for £1b and he's firing blanks at first, it wouldn't matter because he can be excused from games and hidden from press scrutiny for months with zero consequence. If he moved to United and started with same difficulty, then it's a huge problem for the entire club because he was brought in to solve our scoring problems in the first place. Ole brought Bruno Fernandes when we were constantly having issues with chance creation. imagine for one second Bruno had a rough start ...
the steps to get to this level require sacrifices. this is the reason we must look at deals that are smart on paper and get them in numbers. low profile but talented acquisitions spread that initial bedding time that might weigh heavy on a single high profile signing or two. like a poster here said, the likes of Mitoma didn't fall from heaven. Vidic and Evra had very rough starts. aside fans of the club, nobody really cared or noticed.
again, this brings us to the large scale overhaul that was the initial point. our scouting department seem to be asleep and it's having a direct consequence on the youth set up and cost of player signing; even though I suspect our owners are more interested in laundering cash under pretence. the guys that negotiate and close deals are another cog. this sluggish running of the club didn't start this season. going for Ten Hag's neck on the chopping block because he's the obvious candidate will keep us exactly where we've been since 2014.
