TenQ: In any democracy where a sector of the populace feel disenfranchised, there is problem.
Secondly, by pure democracy only the Fulani and the Yoruba will ever rule this country! How about the Ijaw, Ibibio, Tangale, Edo, Itshekiri, Igbo etc. Should they be happy that population is not in their favour!?. Like I said earlier: If the current government have performed exceptionally, may they get a third time.
However if not, then at least we can achieve a resolution to the feelings of being disenfranchised by some people.
By the Way, I do not like Democracy because when the majority of the populace are illiterates, they will always vote in incompetency What is competence by your own definition and mention one President or head of state that was competent. |

While speaking on the development, the Deputy Secretary of State Landau expressed strong agreement with Nigeria’s position, adding that as Africa’s fastest-growing economy and most populous country, Nigeria is a regional power that deserves partnership with the United States. He affirmed that the agreement will bring greater prosperity to both countries and that the United States is happy to supportNigeria’s economic growth. “The signal we are sending is that the United States and Nigeria are partners. Under President Trump and President Tinubu’s leadership, the United States and Nigeria have done many things together in the last one and a half years that we’ve never done before. I think we would like to keep building on that momentum”, he said. https://www.channelstv.com/2026/09/24/nigeria-us-sign-mineral-investment-pact/ |

Nteogwuija: Comrade, we shouldn't care about what the opposition is doing. BAT has performed beyond expectations. In just 3 years, Nigeria now has uninterrupted power supply. All federal roads are motorable with no pothole. We are on zero debt. Today the president travels by road from Abuja to Benue without his motorcade and no harm has gotten to him.
We now have the citizens with the highest purchasing power in Africa, resulting in foreign bussinesses flocking into Nigeria. We now have better trade surplus because we now export more than we import. The refineries in Onne and Kaduna are 100% functional. All these and many more achievements too big that our eyes can't see.
The demigod is class above the competition. His achievements in these 3+ years are his selling points. BAT is winning even b4 any vote is cast. Comrade, I don't see y we should be concerned about the competition. A good product they say sells itself. Garri no need advert. BAT na garri. Oga,Tinubu is winning with a landslide in 2027. Putinofrussia: Face the topic of Mr Obi,the packaged fraud. Presidents do not have to go to UNGA everytime if they so wish. They can send delegates and this is done globally. Jonathan skipped UNGA two times when he was president and so did other Nigerian presidents. You are just wailing your life out. Even before he became President,Tinubu travelled to USA in August 2021 when he visited Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Maryland, USA, for medical care/knee surgery.
He also recorded brief technical or personal stopovers...such as in Los Angeles.....during broader international travels when he became president.
In 2023,President Tinubu also traveled to New York City to attend and address the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), ring the NASDAQ closing bell, and met with US business and tech leaders. Yes. The UNN registrar’s office misleadingly indicated in the letter sent to PREMIUM TIMES that copies of both results and other supporting documents were attached as annexures.
None of those documents were sent with the letter to PREMIUM TIMES as indicated. Frantic efforts to draw the attention of the Chief Registrar, Ngozi Nnebedum, and her office to the omission – urging them to resend the letter with the attached documents – have been futile.
Mrs Nnebedum and her office ignored this newspaper’s e-mails requesting the missing details. The registrar subsequently ignored PREMIUM TIMES’ repeated phone calls. When she finally answered our call on Monday, she expressed surprise that the annexures were omitted and promised to re-send them. But she neither kept the promise nor answered subsequent calls. |

Racoon: Kindly forward to the UNN, NPF, ICPC DSS and any other investigative bodies as deemed fit. This is why you should inform Tinubu to reverse the removal of certificate forgery as pre-election matter so that the courts can investigate and jail Peter Obi if he forged certificates. Meanwhile Tinubu should allow the US courts to come clean on his Heroin running records. Even Trump cannot stop USA courts from doing their legal work talkless of Tinubu. If there is anything incriminating or criminal about Tinubu, baba Obasanjo,Jonathan and millions of oppositions who have been chasing shadows for 33 years including the baba Ikemefuna fleecing baba Atiku now, would have brought out tangible results but all they have been giving us are tales by moonlight. |

Politics › Re: Proof That Yoruba Money Was Used To Build Nigeria by Ofemannnu: 4:01pm On Sep 13 |
lawani: Proof that Yoruba money was used to build Nigeria
As at 1955 the pattern of federal allocation sharing was such that the western state of Nigeria meaning the Southwest, Edo and Delta got 500,000 pounds and the North got over 4 million pounds while the East got over 3.5 million pounds. Is there another way such can be explained outside the fact that western Nigerian money was being used to finance the rest of the country?
In 1960, the budget of the West was 55 million pounds the East 12 million pounds and the North 7 million pounds
Now in 2026, non oil revenue has surpassed 75 percent of federal revenue after decades of a national wilderness experience of depending on oil money by up to over 90 percent of revenue and of the non oil revenue the country now has, the South West is bringing like 55 percent or more. I am yet to add what is being generated by Edo and Delta and if they are added, it will be easily seen that we are still in 1960 and 1955 in 2026 when the old west is compared to the old East and the old North in terms of bringing revenue to the center
Therefore if you are among those saying the money of other Nigerians built any part of Yoruba land or even any part of the old West, please stop saying so because it is far from the truth. It is infact the polar opposite of the truth. The west got 500k when the North got over 4.5 million and the East over 3.5 million and that ratio was used not for a few years but for decades starting from 1914. People without large cities can't be easily taxed
The truth is that the old West in 2026 is still bleeding for Nigeria as it was in 1955 or even 1914, 1920 and etc
A sad truth is that the people taking this money from the west have their own money. The North is buying more cement than the South for instance and this shows they have disposable income more than the South. The East is oil rich too
Therefore remove from your argument the point that Nigeria built Lagos, Ibadan or Ilesa as a reason why those cities are owned by all Nigerians. They are owned by all Nigerians only for as long as Nigeria exists and all Nigerian cities are owned by all Nigerians in exactly the same way.
If there is any truth that needs to be said, it is the truth that some units of Nigeria are grossly underrepresented at the center in Nigeria and therefore grossly underfunded as a result and that reality is ongoing with nobody trying to address it. Another reality is that Nigeria since 1914 has been an 'Agbana' (money pit) for the Yoruba meaning investment with no returns but it is actually worse than that because it is bringing negative returns.
When will those actually being trampled upon in Nigeria start to complain as against those who think they are being trampled upon that are complaining? Will the 30 senators, hundreds of reps and many governors' salaries being owed the SW and the NW ever be reimbursed them? What about all the laws made by a lopsided national Assembly? Will they ever be repealed? What about all the positions and appointments shared according to quota system where states must be represented equally despite that a state can be ten times the population of another state while also paying ten times the tax?
Then for those saying Nigerians are too mixed together to separate, which ethnicity in Nigeria has investments across Nigeria more than the Yoruba? Google the top car dealers, hoteliers, architects, doctors, lawyers and etc in any non Yoruba city and see the data. Check Abuja, PH, Enugu, Onitsha, Kaduna, Jos and etc. However it does not change the fact that a Yoruba country is what is best for the Yoruba people. It does not change the fact that Nigeria is best decoupled.
The only thing that I can make of those constantly saying Lagos and not Zungeru, Lokoja, Enugu, Kaduna or Calabar etc was developed by all Nigerians is that they can't come to terms with the level of organized prosperity in the west compared to other regions. It is contrary to what they would like to be true. The glaring reality on the ground shows clearly that the Yoruba are the main casualty of census manipulations in Nigeria and they don't want to admit that.
