CareerLearning A Career In Heavy Machine----- The New Goldmine by office300(op): 12:21pm On Jun 01, 2021
Ask yourself...

Could you operate large machinery?
Can you work as part of a team on a busy job site?
Do you have good communication skills?
Can you listen and follow instructions?
Do you have good judgement?

If the answer to these questions is yes, then a career as a Heavy Equipment Operator could be right for you.

Heavy Equipment Operators operate heavy equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, airport and so on, without these operators, most roads and bridges would not exist.

Skilled heavy equipment operators are valuable resources, not just because machines like mobile crane, forklift and reachstackers cant operate themselves but also because operators who are good at their jobs tend to be more productive; they even use less fuel compared with less-skilled counterparts.

Operators can learn via on-the-job training, but more often, companies today prefer to hire an operator who has had some training, or a trade school or industry training program like equilog Training Institute.

Become a Global certified heavy machinery operator between 4-8 weeks and earn in an in-demand career today, Dubai, Poland, Canada and many more.

Benefits of Attending Heavy Equipment Training with equilog Technical services.

What will you get after your training?

CareerWhy Mobile Crane Operator Training Is Worth It!!! by office300(op): 12:29pm On Mar 15, 2021
Mobile crane operator training is crucial (and worthwhile) if you want to start a career in the construction industry. To succeed in this role, you should have hands-on experience with cranes and building materials.

As a certified Crane Operator it qualifies you for jobs
Completing mobile crane operating training makes you more qualified for a mobile crane operator job than someone who hasn’t completed it. That much should be obvious. With a little hard work, you can finish a mobile crane operator program with the skills and knowledge you need to take on an entry-level role in the field. In such a role, you’ll keep learning and honing your skills. Mobile crane training simply gives you a leg up when it comes to landing that first job in construction.

What skills do you need to be a crane operator?
No specific degree is required for this role. Crane operators gain experience on-site or by completing relevant apprenticeships. They hold a commercial driver’s license and usually a relevant certificate (e.g. Hard Hat certification globally recognised from the US). Accuracy and knowledge of safety regulations and protocols are essential. Crane operators must also be able to lift heavy loads, climb on lifting equipment safely and stand for long hours. Equilog Technical Services are in partnership with Hard Hat Training Series in US & Canada.

Crane Operator Salaries in Nigeria and overseas
The average net salary for Crane Operator in Nigeria is ₦146K. Salary estimated from 5 employees and while overseas the average hourly pay for a Mobile Crane Operator is $24.93

Without any doubt making a choice to invest in our forth Mobile Crane Training program scheduled to hold on the 12th of April 2021 will be a worthwhile investment to you.

BusinessBest Skill To Have Before Travelling Out Of Nigeria - For The Experienced by office300(op): 1:15pm On Oct 30, 2020
We are here to guide you towards achieving the necessary skills that will help you reach your goal — obtain not just a job, but a lucrative career!

Billions are being spent in Nigeria and many more developed countries to build and repair roads, bridges, airfields, office buildings, shopping centers, and subdivisions – not to mention for soil conservation, land leveling, reclamation and flood control projects to improve our environment. Heavy equipment machines cost hundreds of thousands of naira, but they do a lot of work and earn a profit for their owners, if qualified operators run them.

The construction, forestry, strip mining, conservation, land clearing, utilities and other industries are not going to employ untrained or unskilled people to operate these costly machines. And so, the need for qualified heavy equipment operators never ends. The person who successfully completes a high-quality training program in this field should have a good future. Because of this, our Heavy Equipment Operator Graduates are generally fully employed in this field soon after graduation. Construction is the largest service industry in Nigeria, the United States, Canada, Australia, Dubai and it is growing fast, with more roads, houses, apartments, and office buildings being built every day – and plenty more on the drawing boards. Contractors and construction firms have a constant need for qualified heavy-equipment operators, to help build all these highways and structures. Heavy equipment operators and small earth-moving contractors also work in the utilities industry, including telephone, electric, gas, and water companies.

There is no more important occupation in developed and developing countries than the heavy equipment operator. Without these people, we would have very limited roads, dams, bridges, housing, flood control, and very little mining, land clearing, conservation, landscaping, reclamation, land filling, logging, or pipelines.

Equilog Training Institute will train you on various types of heavy equipment, qualifying you for a great job. The opportunities in this field are excellent for properly trained individuals. Demand for qualified heavy equipment operators shows strong, consistent growth. For qualified operators, this means job security, diverse employment opportunities, great benefits, retirement plans and steady compensation.

When you need to lift heavy amounts of soil, an excavator is a must on your job site. Excavators are popular earthmoving vehicles that feature a bucket, arm, rotating cab, and movable tracks. These components provide superior digging power and mobility, allowing this heavy equipment
to perform a variety of functions, from digging trenches and breaking holes to lifting away waste and excavating mines. When renting your excavator, you’ll want to consider its size and speed as well as the working conditions, such as the amount of space and the soil types.
The most common excavator types are crawlers, dragline excavators, suction excavators, skid steer, and long reach excavators.

Excavators are used in many ways:

●Digging attachments and dredging
●Construction
●Demolition with hydraulic claw, cutter and breaker of trenches, holes, foundations
●General grading/landscaping
●Mining, especially, but not only open-pit mining etc.

One of the biggest challenges that construction companies face today is the shortage of skilled workers. They are unable to find qualified operators that they can put in a piece of equipment [and be certain they] understand what they're doing or know what they need to do to get the job done. That's where we come in. “Here at Equilog, we train excavator operators and certify excavator operators through Hardhat
Training Centre, OSHA & International Association of Drilling Contractor IADC.

Additionally, we offer training on safe operations and we observe all OSHA standard on machinery operations. There are lots of benefits that come from learning to operate an excavator, these are to mention a few;

Employability:
Simply put, employers like to hire operators with both a depth and breadth of knowledge and experience. And while you’ll have to gain most of your experience on the job, heavy equipment training is a great way for a novice to get a little operating experience under their belts, and for
all students to expand their knowledge on a wide range of important work-related subjects.

Pay and Benefits:
An O ’level certification and the ability to read and write is all the schooling required for acceptance into our heavy equipment operator training program. And program graduates find that their pay as a heavy equipment operator far outstrips their previous paycheck-to-paycheck
existence. Actual wages earned will vary according to specific job and location. Nevertheless, wider knowledge and skill provides an edge over competitors.

In some cases, heavy equipment operators may also look forward to a wide range of employee benefits such as:

●Health care and Retirement plan.
●Steady compensation.
●Job security.

Accelerated Training and Career Services:

Course lengths vary depending on the particular school and equipment, our excavator program can be competed in 6 week. Accelerated operator training course result in greater program affordability and no time wasted in learning non-essential subject matter. We give trainees career
advice and we also help them create their resume.

Job Satisfaction:
●Research have proven that the majority of heavy equipment operators are “highly satisfied and the happiest” in their employment.

●Actually, it’s really no surprise why heavy equipment operators like their jobs. Besides good pay and benefits, the work is both challenging and offers the satisfaction that comes seeing the physical results of one’s labor.

If the benefits described above sound good to you, it’s time to consider enrolling in a quality heavy equipment operator training program…………….EQUILOG OPEN THE DOOR TO A NEW CAREER! 09091746789 08088821299

CareerWhy Training Is Important! by office300(op): 12:17pm On Oct 16, 2020
WHY TRAINING IS IMPORTANT!

Working Around Heavy Equipment

Background

75% of construction related “struck by” and “run over” fatalities involve heavy equipment. Heavy equipment, such as cranes, excavators, forklifts, dump trucks, and pay loaders are an essential part of construction. All ground-based workers should remain outside of the working area of heavy equipment while the machine is in operation. This working area is also known as the “danger zone.” Before working around heavy equipment, you should know the potential hazards and how to avoid them!

Heavy Equipment Danger Zones

Unless it is essential to the task, all personnel should stay away from all sides of heavy equipment while it is in use. Danger zones include (but are not limited to):
*Blind spots and/or areas of limited visibility
*Rotating machinery
*Swing radius
*Travel path
*Under suspended or overhead loads
*Overhead hazards (i.e. overhead utility lines, and overhead piping/cable trays, etc.)
*Working over or around existing underground facilities
*Close proximity of moving equipment

Safety Tips

Safely working in the areas of any heavy equipment requires that shared responsibility of both the equipment operator and their coworkers. Unsafe practices by either the operator or those around the equipment can create very dangerous situations. Serious injuries can occur if the equipment strikes a worker, or if the equipment is rolled over. Here are a few common safety rules for operators and ground based workers to consider:

*Inspection of the equipment prior to operation to ensure that all lights and audible alarms are working properly
*A defined route and clear visual path for the operator when moving equipment from the point of origin to the work site
*Heavy equipment must have a rollover protective structure (ROPS)—ROPS is designed to protect the operator if the machine tips over
*Use 3-point mounting and dismounting technique off of heavy equipment—NEVER JUMP OFF HEAVY EQUIPMENT
*Maintain a clear line of site between the operator and workers. *Blind spots are common. If you can’t see the operator, they can’t see you
*Wear high visibility clothing and Personal Protective Equipment
*Never work under a suspended or overhead load
*Watch for shifting or unstable loads and working surfaces

Many times, when workers think the can be seen by the operators of heavy equipment they can’t. You may be in a blind spot or the operator has been driving in a designated travel path for a period of time and the only thing that has changed is you!!!!! May eye contact with operators!

CareerWhy Being A Heavy Equipment Operator Is The Career Of The Future by office300(op): 11:33am On Sep 22, 2020
There’s plenty of work to do on a construction site that cannot be done by hand; this is where a construction equipment operator comes in. He or she may operate the equipment that moves heavy materials from Point A to Point B, excavate gravel and earth, drive piles into the ground, or spread and level asphalt, concrete and other paving material.

In this position, workers will operate heavy equipment used in the construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, airports, gas and oil pipelines, tunnels, buildings and other structures, in surface mining and quarrying activities and in material handling work. They are employed by construction, pipeline and logging companies, as well as by heavy equipment contractors.

All over Nigeria and even in the world, numerous multibillion dollar infrastructure and excavation projects are underway and making good progress. At the forefront of these projects is a skilled set of committed heavy-equipment operators.

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, Construction Equipment Operators are predicted to see an increase of 19 percent in their job outlook from 2012 to 2022; this is well above the average outlook of 11 percent for the same timeframe in other industries.

In addition to this statistic, there are other reasons why heavy equipment is a strong career choice for those looking to make a career change.

Perhaps most enticing among these reasons are that few blue-collar jobs pay as well as heavy equipment operator jobs. When you consider the pay, the pension, and all the benefits together, it is a fairly lucrative field. Additionally, if you have multiple qualifications (i.e. rigger, mobile crane operation certification, Class A CDL, OSHA etc.), you can command even higher pay.

CareerThe Most Common Causes Of Fatal Forklift Accidents by office300(op): 12:41pm On Aug 24, 2020
You would think forklift safety training and forklift licenses would be a given for all businesses. After all, operating a forklift is fairly a dangerous work. Forklifts are large pieces of machinery with a number of moving parts and quite a bit of power. While they make many tasks much easier, there is a high risk of injury and property damage if something goes wrong during forklift operation.

Forklifts can cause damage when items slip off the tyres or become torn or punctured by them. This can cause the loss of product as well as the spillage of solvents, chemicals or other hazardous substances. Forklift operator error and accidents cost time and money. They may also result in injury or even death. Around 28.5% of all workplace fatalities are caused by a falling or tipping forklift load, and around 34% of worker fatalities in 2015 were drivers of heavy machinery. These operator errors also cause a stunning 2 billion dollars in damaged products per year.

Forklift injuries cause around 85 fatalities and 35,000 serious injury accidents per year. Averaging all stats for both serious and minor injuries, this means that well over 10 percent of all forklift users will be involved in some kind of accident in the coming year.

The most common causes of fatal forklift accidents include:

The forklift tipping over and crushing the operator: 42%
Crush injury between the forklift and a surface besides the ground: 25%
Crush injury between 2 forklifts: 11%
Being struck or run over by a forklift: 10%
Struck by falling material being carried by a forklift: 8%
Falling from a forklift platform: 4%
When it comes to fatalities from forklift accidents, over 42% occur during the manufacturing process. This is not surprising due to the prevalent use of forklifts in this industry.

Close to 24% of major forklift accidents occur in the construction industry, 12.5% in the wholesale trade industry, 11% in the transport industry, 9% in retail trade and just over 1% of forklift accidents occur in the mining industry.

Forklift Operator Training Reduces Accidents, Fatalities
Fatalities and major accidents can occur in just about every industry that requires a forklift for operation and the transport of goods and materials. However, numerous studies have indicated that many, many forklift accidents can be prevented with proper forklift training.

As you can see, forklift driver safety training is crucial. It can minimize accidents and fatalities on the job while also reducing financial losses from damaged goods. Forklift drivers who operate this machinery without training pose an immediate danger to both themselves and everyone in the work area.

A safe operation is paramount to the success of a business. Safety keeps a business viable and helps contribute to continued profits down the road. Since workers tend to reflect the attitude of the business owners and management, it is important to make safe forklift use a priority at the highest levels. If you haven’t yet implemented a forklift driver training course for your workers, it’s time to do so. Equilog is a training centre that can take care of your responsibilities. Don't hesitate be employable in the job markets be reliable to your society.

equilog Professional Reachstacker Training

Aim: Anatomy of a reachstacker, trainee was shown parts of the machine and functions of the hand controls.

A reach stacker is a vehicle used for handling intermodal cargo containers in small terminals or medium-sized ports. Reach stackers are able to transport a container short distances very quickly and pile them in various rows depending on its access.
Reach stackers have gained ground in container handling in most markets because of their flexibility and higher stacking and storage capacity when compared to forklift trucks. Using reach stackers, container blocks can be kept 4-deep due to second row access.
There are also empty stackers or empty container handlers that are used only for handling empty containers quickly and efficiently.

Jobs/VacanciesBuild Your Career On A Skill by office300(op): 1:07pm On Jul 22, 2020
There was a time when all you needed to succeed was the ability to read and write English.

After that came the era of university degree. In fact, you had the chances of getting a good job with a good salary.

Then came the era of Masters and PhD. The demands of the Labour market went higher. You had to have a masters or PhD to get a good job.

Before long it became the era of foreign degrees... employers started looking for people from foreign universities.

Now that era has ended: We are now in the era of skills. What you know and what you can do with your brain or your hands. Your level of education notwithstanding; what matters right now is the skills that you have especially new age/digital skills.

So I ask you, what are you doing to remain relevant in this season? ✍✍

Are you still carrying your certificate up and down with obsolete knowledge?
Or you are still blaming the government that is not even aware of your existence?

Having a decent white collar job has always been the dream of every individual, but due to the trend in world globalization where job loss has become a norm and job titles are beginning to change, more individuals (Graduates, Non graduates, employed and unemployed) are seeking to secure their future by acquiring a life time SKILL.

A heavy equipment operator's job prospects are anticipated to increase in the coming years. This is all due to a severe shortage of good training programs and scarcity of trained workers.
People usually don't opt for jobs in a place where they have to work in uncomfortable working environments.

Heavy equipment operators operate equipment used in the construction and maintenance of bridges, roads, airports, tunnels, pipelines, buildings and other structural work. Construction, production and manufacturing companies, public works and heavy equipment contractors recruit equipment operators.

The scope of the job profile of a equipment operator is expected cover most job openings, as economic growth have bought in new infrastructural growth, which requires constant maintenance. There would be constant requirement for equipment operators to maintain and patch up roads.
Many cities are growing and installing mass transportation systems. This expansion would need workers to fill in new jobs.

Jobs/VacanciesYou Need To Do This Before Applying For A Job by office300(op): 1:24pm On Jul 09, 2020
A friend confided in me last week that he didn't feel secure at his work place. As an executive staff, his boss recent reshuffling and reorganization put him in a precarious state. This speaks on current trends in business in the wake of COVID-19.

Before a company fires any staff many factors must have been considered behind the closed doors.

The first exercise a manager will conduct is comparing the cost of each employee with the benefits (revenue) generated by the employee.

The second stage of evaluation is figuring out who are the manager’s friends (aka cronyism). The friend of the manager can truly be a friend,
or someone who makes the manager look so good, it’s impossible to let that person go.

The third step a manager must think about is what will happen if business revives and she needs to rehire the person let go. The more difficult he or she is to replace, the lower the chance he or she will be let go. Above is HOW MANAGERS THINK BEFORE FIRING YOU.

How to Improve Your Job Security

1. Understand the manager and company goals.

Making yourself into an indispensable member of a team means proactively addressing problems begins with a clear view of your manager or company's goals.
Then, You may have to ask yourself 'How can I add value to the company bottom line'
If you can come up with a solution to a problem or a new way to address a stated goal, then that’s one less thing for your supervisor to think about. Try and stay ahead of issues, and bring your polished ideas to your manager if you believe they can be helpful.

2.Grow your skillset.

The most important question to ask yourself is what skills do I need in order to be up -to- date in the current job market?
I’m a big proponent of life-long learning, and I truly believe that being a life-long learner will help you develop professionally more effectively than many other things. As your career develops, so too should your skillset. Develop your skills both in and outside of the workplace, by taking classes, practicing new skills, and dusting off old ones. Look up LinkedIn to have an idea of current trends in your job role and company's industry.

3.Know how to communicate with your manager.

Good communication brings clarity and FasTracks problem-solving. Having unclogged, clear lines of communication with your manager will help prevent any small issues from developing into larger, career-ending problems. In line with this, know which mode of communication is most preferable for your manager. Are they more comfortable with email, or in-person? How often do they want to hear about project progress? When possible, adapt your mode of communication to fit with their preference.

4.Become an expert in something.

People turn to the experts when there are challenges and to solve problems. Look for areas in your business where you can put your skills to use and become an expert. Then, volunteer for projects that will allow you to use these skills and show them off.

5.Offer to help coworkers.

Don’t wait for someone to approach you. Offer your help to others when it appears they might need it. Don’t expect any return favors – help others because you want to, not because you expect something in return. Always play nice with others and learn to flex your style so you can get along with any personality type.

6. Networking is Vital.

You can find new employment opportunities with better packages through current professional relationships when you engage in quality network
building. When your network knows your skills, personality, and preferences, they will think of you when opportunities arise.

7. Never miss a commitment. Complete all your projects/assignments on time (and under budget). If you hit an obstacle, “go ugly early” as the old saying goes, by letting your boss know and asking for help.
