PoliticsSOUTHERN KADUNA: MURIC CONDEMNS KILLING OF MUSLIMS AFTER PEACE PACT by OfficialMURIC(op):
The Nigerian Muslim rights group, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has condemned the guerilla-style killing of Muslims and Fulanis in Zangon Kataf. The killings occurred on 8th and 9th September, 2020 thereby violating the peace pact of 22nd August, 2020.

MURIC condemned the killings in a press statement issued on Monday, 14th September, 2020 by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

The statement reads:

“Christian youths of Zangon Kataf have violated the 22nd August, 2020 peace pact initiated by the Agwa Atyap, Sir Dominic Gambo Yahaya between the Atyap and Hausa/Fulani. The breach occurred on Tuesday 8th September, 2020 when they launched guerrilla-like attacks on Muslims and Fulanis.

“The attacks resulted in the killing of three unarmed and defenseless Fulani near Gora Gan. Those killed were Abdullahi Hassan, Yusuf Hassan Sogiji and Abubakar Hassan. Two other Fulani men, Musa Hassan and his father, Malam Hassan are still being treated in Jama'a Clinic in Zonkwa after sustaining various degrees of injuries during the attack.

“Another Fulani Muslim, AbdulRashid Lawal Malan was killed by the Christian Kataf militia the following day, Wednesday, 9th September, 2020 in Kurmin Masara, near Bakin Kogi bridge. Maitalata Idris Narutu, a Fulani and native of Zango urban, who lives in Dokan Lere narrowly escaped being killed when his car was stopped at an illegal roadblock mounted by Atyap youth militia.

“The setting up of roadblocks by the youth militia contravenes the terms of the peace pact entered on 22nd August, 2020. Both local and international stakeholders must hold the Christian Atyap militia of Southern Kaduna responsible for starting the vicious cycle of bloodshedding after the recent peace pact.

“MURIC strongly condemns these killings and attacks on law-abiding Muslims. We call for stronger presence of security agents. It is high time soldiers are drafted to Southern Kaduna to enforce law and order. We advocate long term military presence until the inhabitants of Southern Kaduna learn how to peacefully coexist.

“As an organization whose motto is ‘Dialogue, No Violence’, we frown at violence in all its ramifications. We are fully committed to a peaceful approach to the Southern Kaduna crisis. We therefore call on both parties to sheath their swords.”

PoliticsRe: MURIC TASKS FG TO CLARIFY ON ANTI-NORTH SCHOLARSHIP LIST by OfficialMURIC(op): 4:35am On Sep 03, 2020
If this turns out to be true, MURIC wholeheartedly condemns the list. We will never accept discrimination against Muslims. MURIC will continue to role in to liberate the light of Islam from the dark forces of religious oppression.

This list contains all the myriad injustices that still blight Muslims sixty years after the end of colonialism.

The degree to which the concentrated poverty in largely segregated Muslim communities shuts their members off from opportunity is alarming and must stop.

We will continue to stand for justice, fairness and equity no matter whose ox is gored.
PoliticsMURIC TASKS FG TO CLARIFY ON ANTI-NORTH SCHOLARSHIP LIST by OfficialMURIC(op): 4:08am On Sep 03, 2020
An unconfirmed list of successful candidates for the 2020/2021 Federal Government scholarship has gone viral on social media thereby generating tension. The list is allegedly attached to a letter written by a prominent Nigerian citizen in the diaspora to the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu. The author complained that the list is an embarrassment to the entire North.

The Nigerian Muslim rights group, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has intervened in the controversy by tasking the Federal Government to confirm or deny the authenticity of the controversial list. MURIC’s intervention came through a statement signed by the director of the human rights organisation, Professor Ishaq Akintola on Wednesday, 2nd September, 2020.

MURIC said, “It had better not be true. The entire nineteen (19) Northern states have just twenty-one (21) successful candidates while the seventeen (17) Southern states have seventy candidates (70). This list has greatly short-changed the North. What criteria was used to generate this anti-North list?

“Worse still, there is only one Muslim among the 13 successful candidates from North Central. This is unacceptable. Such an exercise can only be designed for the purpose of Christianising the North. It is as diabolical as it is Islamophobic. If confirmed, it means another cunny move to Christianise Nigeria has just been uncovered.

“Although we suspect that this list may be another fake news and the handiwork of enemies of peace, yet the Federal Government must speak up on it before it causes further damage to the already thin veneer of mutual confidence in the North-South dichotomy as well as the fragile Christian/Muslim relationship in the country.

“Not only that, it has been used as a tool for playing tortuous religious politics particularly the preference for picking minority Christians from predominantly Muslim areas. This could only have been intended to further deepen ignorance and poverty among the Muslims while the infinitesimally small Christian group in the North is unjustly lifted into the circle of elites and the bourgeoisie.

“It is rather unfortunate that while we consistently lay emphasis on the need for fair distribution of the dividends of democracy among all groups, some unpatriotic elements are determined to continue exhibiting gymnastic religiousity in their official capacities.

“In spite of recent attempts to smear our image in order to blackmail us into silence, MURIC will not keep quiet in the face of elite tyranny. We will not kowtow to the poohpooh of shenanigans masquerading as regional heroes. We will never accept discrimination against any tribe. We will continue to stand for justice, fairness and equity no matter whose ox is gored. Stability, peace and prosperity in every part of Nigeria is the major concern of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC).”

PoliticsRe: Romoval Of El-Rufai: NBA Misfired - MURIC by OfficialMURIC(op): 2:16am On Aug 22, 2020
NBA as a group of learned literati, should have preference for the intellectuals over morons. But instead, NBA has shown itself to be phoney who will abandon its own morals in pursuit of sentiment and bias. Is NBA now an extension of CAN? Is El-Rufai responsible for the killings in Southern Kaduna? Why demonise El-Rufai and idolise Obasanjo and Wike (killers of innocent people and enemies of democracy)?

An association of NBA's breadth would fail if it depended solely on one side judgment. It is time NBA to chart a more robust course and rethink its policy after the dust settled. For an organisation in the need of momentous change, NBA has to decide who it puts its faith in.

Above all, NBA needs to regain legitimacy by holding itself to account.
PoliticsRomoval Of El-Rufai: NBA Misfired - MURIC by OfficialMURIC(op): 1:29am On Aug 22, 2020
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) yesterday removed the name of El-Rufai from the list of speakers at its 2020 Virtual Annual General Conference (AGC) which is scheduled for 26th to 29th August, 2020.

Reacting to this development, an Islamic human rights organisation, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), described NBA’s action as parochial, myopic and jejune. MURIC spoke on Friday, 21st August, 2020 through its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

“NBA yesterday dropped Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State from the list speakers at its Virtual AGC which is billed to start on 26th August, 2020. It is high level prejudice. NBA as a group of learned literati should know better. It is parochial, myopic and jejune.

“The fact that NBA took the ill-advised step on account of a petition written by a group, Open Bar Initiative whose main fear is expressed as ‘One can be sure that he will also use the given platform to advance his conflated narrative, designed to deceive and confuse the nation on the real causes of the killings’ exposes NBA’s impatience, intolerance and self-conceit.

“Is it not better to hear him out than to lock him out? Is it not better to jaw-jaw than to war-war? The departure of the ambassador, they say, is the beginning of war. By dropping El-Rufai, NBA has declared war on the other side in the Southern Kaduna crisis. By so doing, it lost a golden chance to be part of the solution to the conflict. NBA has elected to be part of the problem.

“Was it not Jane Goodall who said, ‘Change happens by listening and then starting a dialogue with the people who are doing something you don’t believe is right’? Change cannot come through rejection and exclusion.

“How justifiable is NBA’s decision to exclude Governor El-Rufai from the virtual conference when people like Chief Olusegun Obasanjo of Odi and Zaki Biam fame and Governor Nyesom Wike are among the speakers? Who bulldozed the hotels of innocent people despite court orders? Who visited unspeakable violence on political opponents? Should NBA hobnob with people linked to genocide and undemocratic practices? So why demonise El-Rufai where killers of innocent people and enemies of democracy are idolised?

“MURIC calls on all lawyers from the North to boycott NBA’s AGC in protest against this open declaration of war on Northern Kaduna. Every little action of injustice must spark a reaction if tyranny is to be stopped in the world. NBA has crossed the red line in human relations and conflict management. No single lawyer from the North should participate in the AGC either as a resource person or as a participant unless NBA rescinds its decision to drop El-Rufai from the list of speakers. Injury to one is injury to all.”

PoliticsRe: MAKINDE'S GOVERNING BOARD APPOINTMENT IS CHRISTIAN DOMINATED by OfficialMURIC(op): 5:53am On Jul 13, 2020
Governor Makinde has plenty of time to reflect on these loopsided appointments. At very least we have warn him of what will happen if he doesn’t change course. To my fellow South west muslims, what our destiny is going to be if we are ever as weak as we are now. We are being relegated to the bottom.

If something isn’t done, and done in a hurry, to bring muslims in Southwest out of their long years of penury, their long years of hurt and neglect, the whole southwest is doomed.

Let not allow another generation go by without we correcting these persistent injustices.
PoliticsMAKINDE'S GOVERNING BOARD APPOINTMENT IS CHRISTIAN DOMINATED by OfficialMURIC(op): 5:32am On Jul 13, 2020
An Islamic human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has criticized the recent appointments made by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for some tertiary institutions in the state. MURIC described the appointments as lopsided.

This was contained in a statement circulated by the Director of the organization, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Thursday 9th July, 2020.

The group said, “Governor Makinde appointed six chairmen of governing boards yesterday, Wednesday 8th July, 2020 but only one of them (Lateef Sanni) is a Muslim. He appointed thirty four (34) members but only fifteen (15) of them are Muslims. Makinde’s focus is clear. As far as he is concerned, only 16.6% and 44.1% are good enough for Muslims.

“Only a governor with a Christianisation agenda can do that in a Muslim-majority state. But it is our duty to interrogate the governor’s action. Makinde must explain the justification of his latest action to Nigerians. Where in the world can you give 16.6% of the dividend of democracy to the majority group while the minority goes away with 83.4%? Is it fair? Is it just? Is it equitable?

“Where are the merchants of false propaganda? They are quick to carry placards in protest against a Muslim president who is doing his best to create a level playing field for all. They cry marginalization in Abuja but turn the blind eye to the persecution of the majority in Ibadan.

“Now we know where Seyi Makinde is coming from. This is the second time he will shortchange Oyo State Muslims. How many of his commissioners are Muslims and how many are Christians? Out of fourteen commissioners, only four are Muslims. Makinde gave the Christians ten (10). Makinde’s democracy is government of the Christians, by the Christians, for the Christians. He is laying the foundation of full blown oppression of Muslims.

“Can Seyi Makinde tell Nigerians how much the pomp and pageantry of 2019 Christmas cost the government of Oyo State? Is it true that all roundabouts in the city of Ibadan were electrified with special blinking bulbs during the yuletide period of the same year? Mr. Governor sir, can the public know the cost? Was the money not taken from our common patrimony? Was any such thing or something close to it done to make the Muslim festival which was held four months earlier as glamorous? Is Makinde a governor of the Christians only or governor of all?

“We charge Governor Makinde to remember that governance is fragile. Only those who are able to strike a balance between groups rule successfully. We are watching every move in Oyo State because we do not want the emergence of another Fayose there. Makinde must therefore fasten his seat belt.

“We kept quiet when he cheated Muslims in the appointment of commissioners. Now he has sidelined them in the appointment of boards of tertiary institutions. Our people say ‘Ekini keebe, ekeji keebe, eleketa ni ajenjetan’, meaning ‘Once is happenstance, twice is a coincidence, the third time is enemy action. Makinde will not taste power in Oyo State again if he dares Muslims.”

PoliticsOgun Hijab Rule: It Is Weak And Ineffectual - Muric by OfficialMURIC(op): 4:56am On Jul 06, 2020
Justice Bamgbose Alabi of the Abeokuta High Court in Ogun State has ruled that “the use of hijab is considered a fundamental human right only for adults”. This formed the basis of his judgement on Thursday 4th June, 2020 in a case filed by Aishat Abdul-Aleem, an 11-year old Muslim girl who was sent out of school at the Gateway Secondary School, Abeokuta in December 2018.

In its reaction to this judgement, an Islamic human rights outfit, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has described the judgement as judicial namby-pamby. MURIC’s reaction was contained in a press statement issued by the Director of the organization on Monday, 8th June, 2020.

MURIC said, “We reject this judgement in its totality. What manner of judicial declaration is this? Is the judge telling us that minors have no religion, no fundamental human rights, not even a dot in social statistics? Is he telling us that minors do not exist? Why are minors counted during census? Why do we register them at birth? Is the killing of a minor judiciable or not? This judgment suffers from desertification of a human face. It has no soul. It is judicial namby-pamby.

“The ruling stands in contra-distinction to Section 38 (2) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which states inter alia, ‘No person attending any place of education shall be required … to take part in …ceremony or observance (which) relates to a religion other than his own or a religion not approved by his parent or guardian’.

“The above section has clearly and convincingly recognized the right of minors to enjoy fundamental human rights. It also placed them under the umbrella of their parents’ or guardians’ inalienable rights.

“By this arbitrary judgement, the judge has elected to discriminate against children on account of age. This is contrary to Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. What will happen if a case of rape of a minor is brought to this court? Can minors ever get redress in this court? Do minors even exist as far as this court is concerned?

“The judgement in the case of Aishat Abdul-Aleem is a judicial somersault. It is as arbitrary as it is absurd. It is equally an unprecedented miscarriage of justice. It cannot hold any water. We charge the litigants to approach an appellate court without delay.

“Previous judgements in hijab cases have set precedents which this judge has chosen to ignore. In the case of Abidemi Rasaq & 3Ors Vs Commissioner for Health Lagos State & 2 Ors, Suit No. ID/424M/2004, the Lagos High Court declared unconstitutional a circular issued by Lagos School of Health Technology banning the students from wearing hijab.

“Also in the case of Provost Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin vs Basirat Saliu Suit No. CA/IL/49/2009, the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Judicial Division held thus: ‘The use of veil (hijab) by female Muslims qualifies as a fundamental right under section 38 of the Constitution.’ Abeokuta High Court must tell us if Aishat Abdul-Aleem is not a female Muslim.

“The landmark declaration of the Court of Appeal in Lagos State v Miss Ashiat Abdkareem CA/L/135/15 still remains unchallenged. In his lead judgment, Justice Gumel held that the use of hijab was an Islamic injunction and also an act of worship hence it would constitute a violation of the appellants’ rights to stop them from wearing the hijab in public schools.

“MURIC considers the Abeokuta judgement an extension of the persecution of Muslims in Yorubaland to the judicial terrain. The honourable justice has simply returned Ogun State to the Stone Age. By ruling that minors are not covered in fundamental human right to use hijab, the court has denied Muslim parents the opportunity to train their children in the use of hijab from childhood.

"The Abeokuta ruling is another example of the persecution of Muslims in Yorubaland. It is only in Yorubaland that Muslims must approach the courts before they can secure their Allah-given fundamental human rights. It is only in Yorubaland that Muslims suffer psychological trauma on account of the persecution and humiliation that their children go through in the schools.

“Yet some extremist irredentists want Yoruba Muslims to support them in a secessionist move to create Oduduwa Republic from the present Nigeria. They want to take us from the frying pan into the fire. How can a child whose step-mother has always maltreated him agree to leave his father in order to follow the same wicked step-mother after a divorce?

“Yoruba Muslims are not getting the dividends of democracy in Yorubaland. They are treated like underdogs. But instead of taking to violence they head to the courts. Even then they are not getting justice in the courts. It is getting to boiling point and we are hoping that Yoruba Muslims will not put their backs to the wall very soon. We appeal to Muslims in Yorubaland in particular and Nigeria in general to remain calm. It may be a long road but we will get there one day. Nonetheless, the road must not be painted in red.”

PoliticsRe: Amotekun: Muslims Reject Oduduwa Republic - Muric by OfficialMURIC(op): 4:51pm On Jun 13, 2020
The share of Yorubas who see religious discrimination in their states as a big problem has risen significantly. This signifies that our campaign is yielding fruit. There is great inequality which Muslims in yoruba land endures in schooling, policing health and government. The governments has a role in reducing it, but rather are the ones championing this division. This must change. Countries/states where the impulse for change is not harnessed to specific reforms will find that it dissipates. When enough citizens march against an injustice, they can prevail.

Muslims in yorubaland have reasons to worry. The proponents of amotekun and Oduduwa Republic are most eager to employ both fair and foul means to achieve their target. This Machiavellian disposition reveals the groups desperation to unleash anarchy. Their threat to assassinate the director of MURIC exposes them as a group that will not stomach opposition.

“Other foul methods adopted by the group include trailing and surveillance of the residences of those who oppose amotekun, use of fake and nonexistent Islamic organisations to demarket our organization, cyber war, ‘killing’ MURIC’s press statements and sponsorship of columnists to disparage the organisation and its director.

“MURIC hereby declares that the silence of Muslims in the Yoruba states must not be mistaken for approval of secessionist moves. Yoruba Muslims have no confidence in the irredentists particularly because the latter have never been given fair treatment whether in political appointments, employment in the job market or in matters of Allah-given fundamental human rights. It is public knowledge that it is in Yoruba schools that Yoruba Muslim children are intimidated, harassed and humiliated over their civil rights particularly the hijab question.

Oduduwa Republic is therefore going to be a slaughter slab and a deadly trap for Yoruba Muslims.
. We will resist the formation of oduduwa republic.
PoliticsAmotekun: Muslims Reject Oduduwa Republic - Muric by OfficialMURIC(op): 4:17pm On Jun 13, 2020
An Islamic human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has insisted that there is a connection between the amotekun initiative and recent agitation for the establishment of Oduduwa Republic. The group therefore declared that Muslims in the region will never be part of the proposed Oduduwa Republic. It called on the governors in the region to be wary of the activities of irredentist elements who are exploiting the euphoria of the moment to achieve their selfish and parochial objectives. The group also warned that breaking away from the rest of Nigeria cannot be in the best interest of the Yoruba.

This was revealed in a press statement issued by the Director of the human rights association, Professor Ishaq Akintola. On Monday, 1st June, 2020.

The statement reads:

“While we are pleased to observe that it seems the authorities have taken note of our agitation to balance the appointment into amotekun by recruiting into all caders from all religious groups, our suggestion of a change of name from ‘amotekun’ to ‘Oduduwa Guards’ is yet to come to reality.

“That notwithstanding, the most pressing issue now is the call for the carving out of a Yoruba Republic out of present-day Nigeria (https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2017/06/13/yoruba-group-calls-oduduwa-republic/). Moves being made include the circulation of a fraudulent survey in Yorubaland asking people to reply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ to the establishment of a Yoruba Republic. Anybody can guess what the result of such a survey coming from an unverified source can be.

“Another document which is also being circulated lists the capital of the proposed republic as Ibadan. However, those behind the idea exposed themselves as dreamers when, apart from the six Yoruba states of Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ekiti, Osun and Ondo, they claimed that the geographical area of Oduduwa Republic includes Edo, Kogi, Kwara and Delta. However, Ijaw youths have predictably denounced the Utopia (https://guardian.ng/news/leave-ijaw-out-of-oduduwa-republic-agitation-iyc-warns-promoters/).

“It is becoming glaring day by day that the amotekun initiative is leading to the formation of a Yoruba nation. The same group that agitated for the establishment of Amotekun security outfit is the same that is now clamouring for a sovereign Yoruba nation. It is no longer a smokescreen, or a ‘bojuboju’ game. The masquerade has uncovered its face.

“Among the dangerous steps taken by the Yoruba separatist group is the quit notice they gave to Hausa-Fulani residents in the region (https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/08/notice-quit-hausa-fulani-yoruba-leaders-stakeholders-ask-ndelta-militants-reciprocate-arewa-youths-gesture-2/; https://therepublicannews.net/2019/05/24/yoruba-council-of-youths-worldwide-others-give-fulani-herdsmen-in-south-west-7-days-quit-notice/comment-page-1/).

“Another cause for concern is the appointment of military retirees as heads of the amotekun security outfits in Yoruba states instead of using retired senior police officers. This portrays a militant body language. It is noteworthy that Chief Alao Akala, a former governor of Oyo State has condemned the appointment of retired military men as heads of amotekun in five of the six states and predicted that the initiative would fail.

“The fact that the appointment of retired senior military men also coincided with the beginning of agitations for an Oduduwa Republic speaks volumes. Besides, the agitation has already been taken to the United Nations (https://theeagleonline.com.ng/un-urged-to-organise-referendum-in-nigeria-as-group-calls-for-oduduwa-republic/). It is however heartwarming that some conscious Yoruba groups have staged protests against the amotekun security outfit. (https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2020/03/18/group-stages-anti-amotekun-protest-in-ekiti/)

“Equally disturbing is the fact that the proponents of amotekun and Oduduwa Republic are most eager to employ both fair and foul means to achieve their target.

“But we remain undaunted. Our resolve to uphold justice, fairplay and peaceful coexistence within a united and strong Nigeria is as solid as the Rock of Gibralta. The tough must get going when the going gets rough. For us it is ‘No surrender, no retreat’. A group that goes all out to do all the above cannot be trusted to lead the Yoruba people to El-Dorado.

“So what is the guarantee that Muslims will not face worse discriminatory treatrment, oppression and persecution in an Oduduwa Republic? It is on record that a prominent Yoruba politician, Femi Fani-Kayode threatened publicly that they know where to keep people like the director of MURIC ‘when Oduduwa … is ready’. Oduduwa Republic is therefore going to be a slaughter slab and a deadly trap for Yoruba Muslims.

“For the umpteenth time, we wish to clarify our position regarding the Yoruba security outfit, amotekun. MURIC is not opposed to a security initiative which will complement police efforts in curbing criminality in the South West. What we oppose is a system targeting Muslims and people of other tribes who reside in the region or marginalising Muslims in recruitments into its units.

“We also frown at all criminal propensities, including the activities of herdsmen who destroy farmlands though we are aware that this is not limited to Yorubaland alone. We strongly condemn non-indigenes in Yorubaland and other places who make crime their preoccupation and cause disaffection between the Yoruba and law-abiding people of their tribes. In this regard, we call for stiff penalties for the suspected killers of Mrs. Funke Olakunrin, daughter of Chief Reuben Fasoranti, the Afenifere leader who are currently facing trial once they are found guilty.

“We appeal to those behind the formation of an Oduduwa Republic to let Nigeria be. We are stronger in a union. There is also no guaranty that the proposed republic will last if it ever becomes a fait accompli. Yoruba Muslims will be the leading voice of opposition to the unholy union in post-secession. Next, the various tribal groups, principalities and communities will suddenly wake up from their slumber and revive the old bitter rivalries. Will the Egba submit to the Ijebu? Will the Modakekes kowtow to the Ife? What of the Ijesha? Will they stand akimbo while Iwo and Ede go away with all the milk and honey from the phantom republic? It will be a den of jealous, rancourous and disunited neighbours.

“We call on Yoruba governors to be wary of the activities of irredentist elements who are exploiting the euphoria of the moment to achieve their selfish and parochial objectives. We have no reason to assume that the governors are part of the grand scheme. Our assumption is that all the governors are interested in is to secure the people of the region and their properties. MURIC is fully in support of this kind of security arrangement.”

These groups of evil-doers have been using social media and some notorious sites (see bolded links) to deliver an onslaught of daily misinformation about our Jihad. Nigerians are now smarter and won't fall for their cheap lies any longer. This monsters and their allies (CAN) therefore need to know that they cannot use blackmail to get their way. Against all odds these monsters must not win. If this groups are not curtailed, a time will come when the country will finally grasped the mess this evil groups caused. By Allah, we are winning.
Politics“CHRISTIANITY HAS DESTROYED NIGERIA, WE WANT ONLY ISLAM” MURIC DENIES STATEMENT. by OfficialMURIC(op): 5:06pm On Feb 09, 2020
My attention has been drawn to the above statement which is being ascribed to me by a hostile and destructive section of the Nigerian media. I was constrained to check the false publication and I found it on https://odinceblog.com/christianity-has-destroyed-nigeria-we-want-only-islam-prof-akintola and http://latheeffarook.net/christianity-has-destroyed-nigeria-we-want-only-islam/.
Though I am a Muslim activist, I have always recognised the rights of all citizens. I believe in live and let live. Christians have the right to exist just as Muslims have the right to exist. It is most wicked to ascribe this kind of statement to me. Our organisation sends fraternal greetings to Christians during every festival. Although some extremist Muslims criticise us for recognising Christian festivals, we defend our position by saying that Islam recognises the existence of other religions. We condemn Boko Haram attacks on Christians each time it happens. How then can anybody publish such trash about me? I reject it in Allah's Mighty Name.
This publication is definitely the handiwork of those who feel threatened by my consistent advocacy for the assertion of Allah-given fundamental human rights of Muslims. They have been used to persecuting Muslims for so long and getting away with it. They are now feeling the heat because MURIC is challenging them and we are winning the struggle. In fact the current hostile attacks on me as a person shows that MURIC’s actions are yielding positive results. Their next obsession is to seek our destruction. Allah will not allow that to happen. That is why they are sending death threats. That is why they are embarking on blackmail, outright lies and coercion. That is why they have mobilised the laziest section of the media to incite people against us. But all these will not deter us from the path of intellectual jihad.
Some media houses are in the habit of deliberately distorting statements. I have ignored so many of such falsifications in the past but I am no longer going to tolerate their inciting publications. I hereby give a warning to the two media houses mentioned above to retract the publication within seven days or they will hear from my lawyer. Henceforth, any media house that publishes fake news or inciting statements against us will meet us in the court of law. Enough of reckless and irresponsible journalism. It is Islamophobia that motivates them but they will learn the hard way. They have forgotten that we are in a civilised world. Any media house that incites people against us will be taken to court. They will only make MURIC rich. Our lawyers have been idle for some time. Now they are going to get a piece of action.
Meanwhile, I must thank level-headed and objective members of the media for the good work they are doing. Nigeria needs peace to make progress and the press is a critical stakeholder in this regard. Those who publish falsehood are out to cause trouble. They are enemies of Nigeria. Most especially, they are the black sheep in the media. They tarnish the image of the noble profession.

CHRISTIAN BOMBER: FANI-KAYODE, CAN LIED

There has been intense controversy over the faith of the man caught attempting to bomb a branch of Winners Chapel Church, Kaduna, on Sunday 2nd February, 2020. Although the police gave the suspect’s name as Nathaniel Samuel (a Christian name), a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode and Rev. Joseph John Hayab, chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) have argued that the suspect was a Muslim by name Muhammed Sani Nasiru.

In the developing story, an Islamic human rights organization, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has pitched its camp with the Kaduna State Police Command, insisting that the suspect was indeed a Christian by name Nathaniel Samuel. In a statement circulated by the group’s director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Wednesday, 5th February, 2020, the human rights association reaffirmed its earlier position that the suspect is a Christian and that his name is actually Nathaniel Samuel.

MURIC said, “The police gave the suspect’s name as Nathaniel Samuel. But for reasons best known to him, Fani-Kayode said the man is not a Christian, that his name is Muhammed Nasiru. What was the basis for that denial? Is Fani-Kayode trying to protect Christianity from Christians or what? The chairman of CAN in Kaduna State, Rev. Joseph John Hayab had earlier denied that the suspect is a Christian. He claimed that the suspect’s name was Muhammed Sani Nasiru.

“Fani-Kayode called the incident ‘a setup and a conspiracy to discredit Christianity’. If we may ask, who is conspiring with who? Is he insinuating that the Kaduna Police Command is conspiring with the Muslims? That will be ridiculous.

“But new developments have proved beyond reasonable doubt that Fani-Kayode’s imagination is running wild. First, the suspect himself confessed in the presence of the press that, ‘My name is Nathaniel Samuel. In fact, I am supposed to be a pastor at the Living Faith Church because I attended the Word of Faith Bible Institute.’ Secondly, his social media account revealed that he is actually Nathaniel Samuel. His facebook account which was created on 9th May, 2011 described him as an event manager and a professional master of ceremony (MC).

“But the last nail in the coffin of the doubting Thomases was the testimony of the suspect’s father, Mr. Samuel Ezekiel. He confirmed that his son had never been a Muslim for one day. ‘No! Not even for a single day has he been a Muslim’ said the father.

“Well, well, well. The wind has blown. We have seen the ruff of the hen. CAN lied. Fani-Kayode lied. These were lies from the very pit of Jahannam. In saner climes, Both Rev. Hayab and Fani-Kayode would have apologized since yesterday. But not in Nigeria where anything goes and public figures have perfected the art of misinforming and misleading their followers so much that the more we look, the less we see.

“The fact that Nathaniel Samuel was not the first Christian to attempt the bombing of a church underlines our contention that there is a Christian version of Boko Haram. John Alaku Akpavan, was arrested while attempting to bomb Radio House Abuja on 5th June, 2011. John is definitely not a Muslim name. Lydia Joseph also attempted to bomb St. John Catholic Cathedral in Bauchi State on 12th September, 2011. Muslim women do not bear the name Lydia.

“Again, Emmanuel King was arrested while trying to bomb the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on 28th December, 2011. Though Emmanuel is obviously a Christian name, he tried to shift the crime on Muslims by disguising in Muslim attire. Augustine Effiong, an indigene of Akwa Ibom, was behind the bomb explosion which occurred in Bayero University, Kano (BUK) on 29th April, 2012. What of Samson Mangai who was arrested in Plateau state attempting to bomb a church?

“Madam Ruth also attempted to bomb the ECWA church, Kalaring Kaltingo, in Gombe State on 12th March, 2012. Jonathan Gyanet, a police officer was arrested while attempting to bomb ERCC church in Akwanga, Nasarawa State on 20th April, 2014. A Christian bomber was lynched while trying to escape after blowing up the COCIN Church of Jos on Sunday, 26th February, 2012. About eight Christians were also arrested in Bauchi after a failed attempt to bomb the COCIN church on Sunday, February 26, 2012.

“There is no need for Fani-Kayode and CAN to beat about the bush. Let us call a spade a spade. A criminal is a criminal. His faith does not matter. They are in all religions. We Muslims admit it when we see criminals among us. But CAN always wants to play this holier-than-thou game. Nigeria will be rid of high profile criminals the moment religious leaders decide to expose them. The rate of crime will also reduce drastically if anti-crime sermons come from both the pulpit and the minbar on a weekly basis.

“On a last note, we advise both Rev. Hayab and Fani-Kayode to stop under-estimating the intelligence of Nigerians. People are taking note of what you say and what you do. Chroniclers are piling up the record of events. The latest incident of a Christian attempting to bomb a church involving Nathaniel Samuel will certainly constitute an update for the chroniclers. Nigerians are watching. Nobody can fool them anymore. Let us desist from speaking on or defending what we know nothing about. A more dispassionate approach is better for peaceful coexistence in this country.”

PoliticsRe: Muric Commends Police For Arresting Oro Culprits by OfficialMURIC(op): 6:48am On Sep 26, 2019
This issue of religious intimidation by cultist/ criminals must be tackled urgently and clear-headedly. This traditional worshippers and their allies (Christians) therefore need to know that they cannot use violence to get their way. Against all odds these monsters must not win.

We have finally liberated our people in Ogun state from the hand of these cultist and bring an end to their misery. ALHAMDULLAH!
PoliticsMuric Commends Police For Arresting Oro Culprits by OfficialMURIC(op): 6:15am On Sep 26, 2019
Ogun State Police Command has arrested nine Oro worshippers who attacked Muslims after imposing an illegal curfew. The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi identified the suspects as Dondo Sunday, Nurudeen Lawal, Idowu Desu, Monday Akinlolu, Dele Dada, Raimi Jacob, Abiola Azeez, Olarewaju Akerele and Tetede Jamiu.

It will be recalled that the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), an Islamic human rights organization had called for the arrest and prosecution of Oro worshippers in its press statement issued last week (4th September, 2019) for invading a mosque, injuring the Muslim worshippers and damaging mosque properties.

https://www.nairaland.com/5399125/arrest-prosecute-oro-cult-leaders

Commenting on the arrests on Tuesday, 10th September, 2019, MURIC hailed the police for arresting the culprits.
The Director of the group said, “We commend Ogun State Police Command for making these arrests. It is long overdue. Oro worshippers have for long exhibited reckless impunity. They had become the Alpha and the Omega in Ipokia. They gave adherents of other religions no peace.
“How can they be declaring curfew at will and usurping the authority of both the local and state governments? How can they be attacking and maiming people of other faiths and even destroying properties without anyone calling them to order. This arrest serves them right but it must not end there. They must be made to pay for damaged mosque properties.
“They must also appear in court. This case must not end at the police station. They have serious cases to answer: breaking and entering, premeditated damage, occasioning grievous harm and contempt of court. Ignorance and religious bigotry are their major problems and they must be taught a lesson.
“The way the police handles this case will determine whether or not there will be a lasting solution to the problem. Oro worshippers must be made to realize that there is a constitution in this country. In particular, the traditional ruler of the community must be told in black and white that he is not the absolute ruler in the land and that he himself must submit to the authority of the local, state and federal governments. Gone are the days when traditional rulers brandished unlimited power and feudal tyranny.
“Above all, both the traditional ruler and the Oro worshippers must submit to the supremacy of the law. In this regard, they must obey subsisting court ruling on the modus operandi of their Oro by restricting their operations to the hours between 12 am and 4 am or risk going to jail.
“MURIC calls on police formations in the South West to borrow a leaf from their Ogun state counterparts because the imposition of illegal curfews by Oro worshippers is not restricted to Ipokia alone. It is very rampant in the sub-region. Ikorodu in Lagos State has also been the hotbed of acrobatic extremism and gymnastic criminality on the part of Oro worshippers. What the police needs to do in order to subdue Oro worshippers and their hooliganism is to manifest gallantry and professionalism.
“In our closing remarks, we commend Ogun Police Command for effecting the arrest of Oro culprits. We strongly demand their arraignment in a court of proper jurisdiction. We urge other police formations in the South West to deal with violent and recalcitrant worshippers of Oro in their domain in like manner.”

CrimeArrest, Prosecute Oro Cult Leaders Now by OfficialMURIC(op): 10:36pm On Sep 04, 2019
An illegal round-the-clock curfew has been imposed on Idiroko, Agosasa, Ilase, Ajegunle and some other communities in Ipokia Local Government of Ogun State since yesterday, Tuesday, September 3, 2019 by Oro cultists. The curfew has paralysed commercial activities in the whole area as shops and markets are under lock and key. Women and strangers are not allowed to move about and schools are already affected.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Director of the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Wednesday, 4th September, 2019.

According to Akintola, the Oro worshippers who signed an agreement with Christians and Muslims at a religious stakeholders’ meeting held at the Conference Room of Ipokia Local Government Secretariat on 21st August 2019 have reneged on their promise barely one week later.

He continued, “The meeting was presided over by the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA) in Ipokia, Engr Babatunde Odunlami. Representatives of Christians and Muslims were in attendance. Security agents were also there. They all signed an agreement restricting the celebration of Oro festival to midnight from 12 am to 4 am. The signed document also indicated that there should be no restriction of any form to non-members of Oro cult within the period.”

MURIC provided more insight into the agreement.

“It was agreed that Christians and Muslims must conduct their services inside churches and mosques respectively. Outside procession with loudspeakers are also forbidden during Oro festivals while no religious group should, in their preaching or songs, call traditional worshippers derogatory names and no one should infringe on the fundamental human rights of citizens as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution. In addition, any religious group that intends to organise a festival must inform the local government, police and other security agencies in writing beforehand.
“The agreement was signed on behalf of Muslims by the Imam of Idi Iroko, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and two others: Faruq Tiamiyu and Yahya Ajibola. Christians were represented by Joseph Arogunyo, John Jayeola and Adesina Sunday while Ojo Alade, Gafar Waidi and Suuru Adeyemi signed on behalf of Oro worshippers.
"The DPO of Idiroko police station, CSP Opebiyi Sunday signed as a witness while the DPO of Ipokia was represented by CSP Oluku Sunday. Also, the Department of State Services (DSS) was represented by B. E. Bassey, while the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) was represented by DRC Garba Dare.

MURIC lamented the failure of leaders of Oro cult to abide by the agreement.

“It is highly regrettable that these people failed to abide by the agreement they signed under the full glare of security agents. We are grossly disappointed.”

The group called on security agents to arrest Oro cult leaders and prosecute them.

“We call on the security agents to do the needful. Oro cult leaders must be arrested, detained and prosecuted for declaring this curfew. They have usurped the powers of the state governor and the chairman of the local government who are the only authorities conferred with the power to impose curfews. Their action is illegal, illegitimate, unlawful and unconstitutional.

“Besides, the illegal declaration of curfew on the area is an indubitable contravention of Section 41 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which says inter alia, ‘Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria…’

“Security agents have a duty to uphold the rule of law. The action of Oro cultists is capable of causing a breech of the peace because they have infringed upon the freedom of movement of Ipokia citizens. Oro cult leaders must therefore be held accountable. It is also important to note that this curfew was declared in contempt of court because there is a subsisting court ruling on this by an Ipokia High Court made earlier this year.

“As we wind up, we charge the Ogun State Police Command and the Ogun State chapter of the Department of State Security Services (DSS) to spring to action. Nigerians will hold security agents responsible if there is any breakdown of law and order in Ogun State over the illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional declaration of curfew by Oro cultists. Security agents must summon the will to nip this threat to peace in the bud. Oro cultists must no longer be allowed to arrogate executive power to themselves anywhere in the South West. Enough is enough.

PoliticsMuric Condemns Wike For Demolishing Mosque by OfficialMURIC(op): 7:58pm On Aug 26, 2019
Trans-Amadi Central Mosque in Port Harcourt, Rivers State was on Tuesday 20th August, 2019 demolished by the Rivers State government. The demolition exercise has however been denounced by the Islamic human rights organisation, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC).
According to MURIC, the demolition is the most odious and insidious attack on an Islamic landmark in that part of the country in recent times. This was made known to the media in a statement issued by the Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Monday, 26th August, 2019.

MURIC said, “This demolition exercise is illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional. It is an exhibition of gross, undiluted Islamophobia and the most odious and insidious attack on an Islamic landmark in that part of the country in recent times. It is another evidence showing that established thugs have seized the reins of power in certain government houses in Nigeria.

“Both the Chief Imam of Trans-Amadi Central Mosque, Alhaji Haroon Muhammed and the Secretary, Alhaji Aliyu Sadiq have provided evidence proving that due process was followed in purchasing the land. Yet the state government has been harassing the mosque management for years. The mosque has been demolished twice in the past.

“The Muslims had no option than to approach the court. Two cases were instituted at the State High court. One was to restrain the government from taking over the land and the other was for compensation for the loss incurred by the Muslims for the damages done to their properties (the building that was demolished and the properties in the mosque damaged as a result of the demolition).

“The Muslims won both cases. The court judgement in favour of the Muslims was given on 2nd November, 2017. Though the government appealed against the second case which is about compensation for damages and the case is still ongoing at the Appeal Court, it did not appeal the one restraining it from taking over the land. The Muslims of Rivers State are therefore the bona fide owners of that land.

“It proves beyond any reasonable doubt that the demolition of Tuesday 20th August 2019 was done in contempt of court. A mosque is demolished while there is a case on it at an appellate court. The level of impunity manifested by Governor Nyesom Wike has confirmed the fear expressed by Lord Acton in his 1887 letter addressed to Bishop Mandell Creighton that ‘Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely’.

“Or how do we explain a situation whereby a state governor ignores all legal process and proceeds to send thugs and fake mobile policemen to destroy a mosque? It is interesting to note that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of that area challenged the task force on the ground that he was not aware of any demolition order.

“They replied that the order was from the State House but they had to withdraw because they could not produce a written order when the DPO requested for it. This happened twice: 29th July and 16th August, 2019 before they eventually came for the demolition on 20th August when they returned yesterday with more touts, fake mobile policemen and bulldozers.

“This demolition was executed without any formal notice despite the fact that the mosque has an approved building plan. The only thing that was heard was that the papers had not been revalidated whereas the mosque management made several moves to revalidate ownership. They even paid a visit to the permanent secretary to complain when officials in the Ministry of Lands and Housing refused to attend to them.

“This illegal demolition has deprived more than 10,000 worshippers of a place of worship. Members of the armed forces, oil company workers and other residents who are Muslims attend the mosque. This exercise smarks of religious fanaticism, intolerance and administrative impunity.

“The witch cried yesterday and the child died today. Do we still need to waste time on an autopsy? Contrary to Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which says, ‘The Government of the Federation or of a State shall not adopt any religion as State religion’ Wike has declared on three different occassions that Rivers State is a Christian State and no one has deemed it fit to caution him, not the state assembly, nor the Senate.

“Wike does not want any mosque in the state. Neither does he want to see any Muslim around him. Paradoxically, Rivers State citizens are everywhere in the country, particularly in Muslim-controlled parts of Northern Nigeria as well as Muslim-majority parts of the South West. Wike’s ability for independent and logical reasoning is highly in doubt.

“We alert Nigerians to the characteristics of Wike’s administration, namely: wikedisation of religion, acrobatic religiousity, gymnastic impunity, political violence and administrative rascality. Wike has no respect for any type of decorum. He is a threat to peaceful coexistence anywhere in this country.

“This man must never be allowed to go beyond Rivers State in his political career. Neither should any president give him a federal appointment. Nigerian Muslims will definitely rise against him if he ever aspires for a federal position anytime in the future or if any presidential candidate picks him as his running mate. Wike is bad news. Muslims are not safe in his hands. He is not capable of rational thinking. Neither can he ever dispense justice with fairness.

“To the Muslims of Rivers State, we send to you this strong message of solidarity. ‘Believers are all brothers’ (Qur’an 49:10 Inamal muminuun ikhwah). We assure you that you are not alone. We feel the heat as you pray under the burning sun. We share the cold and wetness when you pray in the rain. The Fir‘awn of Rivers State cannot do worse to you than Abu Lahab and Abu Jahl did to the early Muslims. How did the duo end up? What was the end of Fir‘awn the oppressor? We therefore charge Muslims in Rivers State to remain steadfast in faith and in resolution.

“While we caution against taking the law into their hands, we warn that they must not kowtow to Wike’s poohpooh. They must resolutely pursue the legal angle to a logical conclusion. We also advise that they continue to observe their weekly Jumu’ah service on the ruins of the multi-million naira mosque to the chagrin of Wike and his agents of destruction. Afterall, Wike cannot have the luxury of a third term. His days are numbered but every term is Allah’s term. He reigns forever.

“The National Assembly (NASS) is advised to enact a law compelling any Nigerian who aspires to a political post to undergo mental examination. This will save the country from the embarrassment of irrational and Bohemian behavior on the part of holders of political offices.

“In conclusion, we appeal to the NASS to call Wike to order. His actions are capable of setting Nigeria on fire. The declaration of Rivers State as a Christian state constitutes a major infringement on Section 10 of the Nigerian constitution which he swore to defend. Neither should the NASS close its eyes to the war being waged by Wike against Muslims in the state.

PoliticsRe: #revolutionnow: Buhari Has Our Vote Of Confidence-muric by OfficialMURIC(op): 12:52am On Aug 16, 2019
Some unscrupulous Nigerians tend to blame President Buhari for their economic woes, even though it is proven beyond reasonable doubt that Buhari's performance has been outstanding. We all know that this "revolution now" is sponsored by evil politicians and some bunch of propagandists (CAN).

These groups of evil-doers have been using social media and some notorious sites (sahara reporters) to deliver an onslaught of daily misinformation about our president. Nigerians are now smarter and won't fall for their cheap lies any longer.

As for president Buhari, may your enemies be scattered like flour thrown in the air. Ameen.
Politics#revolutionnow: Buhari Has Our Vote Of Confidence-muric by OfficialMURIC(op): 12:26am On Aug 16, 2019
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has declared a vote of confidence for President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration. This is coming in the face of the call for a revolution against the Nigerian government. MURIC argued that the proponents of #Revolutionnow have lost touch with reality.

The group’s position vis a vis #Revolutionnow was made known in a statement issued by its Director and Founder, Professor Ishaq Akintola on Wednesday, 7th August, 2019.

“While it is on record that we have called for the release or arraignment of Omoyele Sowore, we affirm that the #Revolutionnow camp has lost touch with reality. How do you judge an administration which is yet to take off in its second term? What are the criteria the #Revolutionnow group has used to arrive at its hardline position?

“This is an administration that was ambushed, strangulated and sarakitised from the first day of its inauguration in May 2015. Are they blind to history? Today was born from the wombs of yesterday. Why can’t they take a glance at where this administration is coming from? Have they forgotten how the 8th National Assembly (NASS) held the Buhari administration by the jugular for four good years?

“So what has changed since then? How much time has Buhari spent in his second term? He has not even taken off. Wednesday 21st August has just been fixed for the swearing-in of ministers. Why won’t they allow this government to settle down? Who is afraid of Buhari? Whose cupboard is full of skeletons? Why are they in so much haste?

“Does it mean that both the leaders and supporters of #Revolutionnow were pleased with the sarakitisation of Buhari’s first term? Where really do they stand in the war against corruption? Where were they when the 8th Senate delayed budget for seven whole months?

“We put it to #Revolutionnow that it has misplaced its priorities and failed to identify the true enemies of Nigeria. #Revolutionnow should have organized its uprising against the 8th NASS. By the way, where were they during the general elections that brought Buhari to power? How did they fare? Is it proper to change by force what the ballots refused to grant? It was Allah who joined Buhari and Nigerians together in the general elections. Let no #Revolutionnow seek to put asunder what Allah has joined together.

“Nigerians are witnesses to the tremendous progress made by the Buhari administration despite a hostile NASS. All contractual debts have been paid up. Treasury leakages were plugged. Internal revenue generation drive has increased while the tax regime has been made more effective. All pension arrears have been paid up including money owed Biafran war veterans.

“Not only that. Recession was overcome within one year and foreign reserve keeps growing despite low oil price. All Federal roads are being reconstructed across the country while fast and modern rails are emerging. The Second Niger Bridge is a living testimony and 13 modular refineries are currently being built in the Niger Delta.

“Nigeria’s economy is being restructured from oil-based to agriculture, solid mineral and manufacturing. Electricity generating capacity has moved from a lowly 3,000 megawatts to 7,000 megawatts. From a high profile renegade group which occupied 17 local governments under Jonathan, Boko Haram has been drastically humbled to a guerilla group that can only hit and run.

“You said Buhari has not achieved anything but who paid the arrears of former staffers of NITEL, NEPA, Nigerian Airways, Nigerian Railway, etc? What is the basis of your revolution against PMB? Where are Buhari’s billions? Where are his hilltop palaces? Can you compare PMB to other ex-presidents and heads of states in terms of wealth?

“You are rising against a man who refuses to steal. It just doesn’t add up. Ungrateful people, rebellious subjects, enemies of peace. Why are you behaving like the nine lepers who could not appreciate Jesus’ healing? ‘Were ten not healed? Where are the nine?’ (Luke 17:17).

“If it is the issue of killings and kidnappings, is it a new phenomenon? Was Buhari in charge when Odi massacre occurred? What of Zaki Biam? Who killed the 47 Biafrans whose corpses were dumped in Ozu River in 2013? Are we so naïve that we fail to realize that all the Oyenusis and the Evans now disguise as herdsmen and Fulanis just to cause confusion? Anarchists are trying to deceive us. #Revolutionnow is a fall guy, a guinea pig. Scientists will call him a ‘lab rat’.

“#Revolutionnow group must be the greatest jokers of the century if they cannot see the above achievements. We therefore urge Nigerians to ignore them. They simply want to gain by the bends what they failed to get by the straight. But must it be by hook or crook?

“We submit that #Revolutionnow is fighting a proxy war for looters. It has allowed itself to become a willing tool in the hands of corrupt politicians and bad loosers. It is corruption fighting back. We feel the hands of Esau but we hear the voice of Jacob in #Revolutionnow. We therefore advise those behind it to retrace their steps. We warn distinguished Nigerians who have earned the respect of millions of their compatriots not to dance to the gallery. It is not mandatory to speak in support of every rascality. Real wise men are selective in times like this. It is unnecessary to find your finger in every pie.

“By the way, what alternative do the champions of #Revolutionnow have for Nigerians as they seek violent regime change? Whether they call their #Revolutionnow violent or nonviolent, is it time yet for another election? Have they forgotten Libya? Can’t they see what is happening in Syria and Iraq? Real activists respect democratic ideals but the reverse is the case with our friends. The open call for a revolution is a flagrant abuse of democratic principles. Who did this to #Revolutionnow?

“Sowore is a good material for future politicking but he has to redirect his energy towards reengineering Nigerian youth for service, patriotism and dignity, not towards removing a democratically elected government. A Fidel Castro, Thomas Sankara or Che Guevera profile is anachronistic, retarding and un-Nigerian. Even Nelson Mandela emerged through democratic process.

“As we conclude this advocacy, we appeal to distinguished and elderly activists to tell Sowore the truth. We advise #Revolutionnow to dismantle, dissolve into a political party and wait for 2023. Even a coup will not pay the group. Coups are no longer fashionable. The Buhari regime is not a product of violent change. It evolved via due democratic process. Any other process is therefore unlawful, illegal, illegitimate and unconstitutional. In view of Buhari’s sterling qualities and his numerous fait accompli in spite of all odds, we affirm clearly, unambiguously and categorically that Mr. President has our vote of confidence.”

EducationAdeleke University Persecuting Muslim Students - MURIC by OfficialMURIC(op): 5:58am On Jun 20, 2019
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has accused Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, of persecuting Muslim students in the institution. According to the Islamic human rights organization, the private tertiary institution is serially violating the fundamental human rights of Muslim students in the institution.

This was disclosed in a press statement circulated on Tuesday, 18th June, 2019 by the Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

“Adeleke University is a serial violator of Allah-given fundamental rights of Muslim students. This institution forces Muslim students to attend church on Sundays. It makes it mandatory for students living in the hostel to attend church every Wednesday and Saturday.

“The practice of any other faith on campus except Christianity is banned. Muslim students must not be seen observing Salat. Hijab is a taboo in Adeleke University. Yet all these Islamophobic practices are smartly hidden from prospective students of the institution until they have paid the exorbitant school fees and can no longer withdraw.

“We call on the National Universities Commission (NUC) to come to the rescue of Muslim students in Adeleke University. It is a religious scam. This institution hides under a non-religious nomenclature to ensnare Muslim students into an enclave of religious apartheid.

“In particular, we invite NUC to take a look at the students’ handbook of this institution, especially pages 7, 49, 50, 56 and 60. These pages, to our mind, contain rules that infringe on the religious freedom of Muslim students. As a regulating body, NUC has a duty to intervene in this matter as part of its oversight function on Nigeria’s universities.

“Such intervention is necessary at this juncture to enhance quality control. We remind NUC that man is body, soul and spirit. These three organs must function without hinderance for students to perform maximally. As things stand today, Muslim students of Adeleke University have been deprived of the spiritual component of their humanity. We therefore call on NUC to investigate this issue as a matter of urgency. Religious repression is a potential threat to peace, law and order.

“MURIC is aware that such practices of religious intolerance exist in a few other private universities. We therefore advise Muslim parents and Muslim students to take necessary precaution. They should investigate very well before picking universities of interest.

“Many private universities do not bear Christian names but they pursue Christian evangelical goals. Worse still, they lack the spirit of tolerance. Muslim candidates who have already chosen private universities where they are likely to become victims of Islamophobia are, therefore, advised to apply for a change of university before it is too late.

“Western education was the weapon used by the British colonialists to coerce Muslims into converting to Christianity in the past. The new trick is to use private universities to achieve the same aim or to compromise willing staff of public universities to do the dirty job. It is neocolonialism pure and simple.

“The children of Muslim victims of religious oppression under the colonialists are today the targets of apartheid private universities. Those who oppressed the father when he was in school are bent on persecuting the children. This is the gospel according to the slave-driver. This vicious cycle must be halted at all cost.

“As we draw the curtain, we warn that private and public institutions where Muslim students are denied their Allah-given fundamental human rights are sitting on kegs of gunpowder. We call on NUC to investigate this allegation of religious persecution in Adeleke University, Ede and take appropriate action if found culpable. It will serve as a deterrent for other neo-imperialists masquerading as higher institutions.”

Uprooting this country’s deeply corrupt, oligarch-controlled anti-Islamic groups remains unfulfilled. Every well meaning Nigerian must ensure that this Islamobic groups (CAN, AFENIFERE, OHANEZE) ceased to exist. If this groups are not curtailed, a time will come when the country will finally grasped the mess this evil groups caused. Swords they may have, but no power. The eradication of one of the world’s very worst problems (Muslim haters/Islamaphobia) is a prize worth fighting for.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) yesterday condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s (PMB) presence at the summit of the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). Two socio-cultural groups, Afenifere and Ohaneze also towed CAN’s line. In addition, ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo last week accused PMB of Fulanisation and Islamisation of Nigeria.
However, an Islamic human rights organization has debunked the allegations. According to the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), those criticizing PMB for attending this year’s OIC summit are in urgent need of anti-Islamophobia vaccine.
“It is pathological hatred. Those who are allergic to transparency, those who have phobia for due process, those who are ethnic bigots and those who are deeply entrenched in acrobatic religiousity are ganging up under the banner of gymnastic Islamophobia. The old order cometh again. CAN, Afenifere, Ohaneze are all Muslim-haters and what they need urgently is anti-Islamophobia vaccine.
“Come to think of it. 53 heads of state out of the 57 member-states of the OIC are being expected at the summit and majority of them are not even Muslims. Why are they singling out PMB?
“MURIC will not hesitate to give proportionate response to any attack on Islam from any quarter no matter how highly positioned. Those who want to attack PMB’s government are free to do so. We may ignore them. But anyone who uses religion as a launching pad to attack any Muslim leader (not PMB alone) will have MURIC to contend with.
“That is where OBJ crossed the red line. He accused PMB of Fulanisation and Islamisation. We have no problem with the former because it is a mirage. Fulanisation exists only in the imagination of those who concocted it. In reality, Nigerians have either consciously or otherwise turned Fulanis into an endangered specie, pushed from pillar to post. However, the ex-president has just exposed himself as an ethnic jingoist.
“OBJ’s allegation of Islamisation is what we find strange and disturbing coming from a man with his record of accommodating Muslims, personally sponsoring Islamic projects (e.g. his presidential library in Abeokuta contains a mosque), patronising Islamic scholars for spiritual invocation and also organizing interfaith dialogue. So what informed the 360 degree turn-around?
“MURIC advises the present leadership of CAN not to start the old firebrand rivalry all over again. CAN should stop crying wolf where there is none. Neither should CAN continue to heat up the polity or whip up anti-Muslim sentiments. We invite CAN to peaceful coexistence. Let us live and let live. We were all here when ex-president Jonathan turned Jerusalem to Aso Rock’s backyard and the Muslims said nothing about it. CAN should eschew selective criticism.

MURIC did not spare Afenifere and Ohaneze both of whom it accused of hiding under socio-cultural identity to lauch a crusade.
“Afenifere has always been known as a group of deceptive crusaders in a socio-cultural cloak. The group has always pursued parochial agendum. It has always represented Christian interest alone whereas it claims to speak for the South West. No sane Nigerian takes Afenifere seriously these days.
The problem with other socio-cultural groups attacking Islam is that of mistaken priority. They turn their frustrations to Islam instead of addressing the challenges to the development of their regions and the welfare of their people. In particular, both Afenifere and Ohaneze parade the DNA of the nine lepers who failed to appreciate Jesus. The more PMB favours their region, the more they grow bitter.
“As we round off, we appeal to OBJ to desist from attacking the institution of Islam. We call on all socio-cultural groups to concentrate on the development of their regions and the welfare of their people instead of dissipating energy on launching attacks on Muslims. We assure our Christian brothers and sisters of our willingness to live in peace with them. It is humanity that matters first, not a man’s religion. We charge Nigerians to ignore all irredentist individuals and groups. What Nigeria needs now is prayers, peace, unity and hard work”.

PoliticsMuric Condemns Sri Lanka Killings by OfficialMURIC(op): 4:40am On Apr 30, 2019
29th April, 2019

More than 321 deaths have been reported in the multiple bombing of churches and hotels in Sri Lanka during the Easter holidays. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), an extremist group, has allegedly claimed responsibility for the attacks.
In a related development, a Nigerian human rights organization, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), has rejected the extremist group’s ideology of revenge. This was made known in a statement signed by its Founder and Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Monday 29th April, 2019.
“For the umpteenth time, we reiterate our condemnation of terrorism and all forms of violence as a means of seeking redress. Violence is a square peg while peace is a round hole. Seekers of justice must not resort to violence lest they err. Neither can avengers have peace of mind because revenge, by its very nature, is a vicious cycle. The solution to the world’s problems lies in dialogue, mutual respect, tolerance, forgiveness and love.
“We reject religious demagogues who instruct us to kill people of other faiths. We debunk the parochial philosophy of merchants of death who tell us to kill Westerners. We assert clearly, categorically and unequivocally that Islam is a religion of peace, not a creed of violence. Islam gives life, not death. It gives hope, not suicide-motivating frustration. Islam promotes co-existence among the various components of humanity regardless of their religious leanings.
“We further contend that as an integral part of compos mentis homo sapiens, Muslims have no right to kill any follower of other faiths any more than members of other faiths have any right to kill Muslims. To believe otherwise is to succumb to the Hobbesian theory of nature where man is seen as a selfish and dangerous brute. This is what the killers in New Zealand and Sri Lanka have done. They have become unsolicited ideologues of the Darwinian theory of survival of the fittest.
“Contrary to this barbaric mentality, Islam invites mankind to rational thinking and respect for human life. The Glorious Qur’an forbids the shedding of human blood (5:161). It compares a man who kills a single person to one who destroyed the whole of humanity while another who saves a single life is compared to one who gave life to all mankind (5:32).
The Glorious Qur’an has also rubbished the rationale for the vengeful killings in New Zealand and Sri Lanka by describing goodness and evil as incomparable and by commanding Muslims to repay evil with goodness (41:34). Nothing in the teachings and actions of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encourages tit-for-tat.
“The Prophet said, ‘Do not engage in violence. Embrace peace’. At the point of victory, he forbade the killing of those who had killed Muslims. He decreed that all those who had subjected Muslims to torture, harassment and intimidation in Makkah should be forgiven.
To conclude this advocacy of non-vengeance, we appeal to all individuals and groups engaging in violence to embrace peace. We charge all believers in the Supreme Creator to learn to respect the sanctity of life, to court the art of forgiveness and to woo the value of tolerance. But above all, we invite the West to give world peace a vital shot in the arm by halting its pro-Israel and anti-Muslim agendum and to desist from its tortuous policy of divide et impera. We urge Nigerians to promote peace, to forgive, tolerate and love one another”.

This pattern of muslim abuses by muslim haters must stop. If these abuses continue, they will certainly be an unanticipated effect. They gave several excuses of why they are denying them of wearing hijab, all of which are largely rubbish. The eradication of one of the world’s very worst problems (Muslim haters/Islamaphobia) is a prize worth fighting for.

PRESS RELEASE:
MURIC CALLS FOR JUSTICE
AS BROADCASTER’S DAUGHTER, OTHERS DENIED ENTRY IN JAMB CENTERS

The daughter of a former ace broadcaster, Sulaiman Aledeh, was among several hijab-wearing female students who were denied entry at a JAMB examination center in Lagos yesterday.

This was revealed in a tweet sent by the ex-broadcaster at exactly 8 am on Thursday, 11th April, 2019 on his twitter handle @aledeh, ‘My daughter is writing her @JAMBHQ today but she just called me now that she’s been asked to remove her hijab before she’s allowed in at the center at New Ocean School, Megida, Ayobo. Is that the rule please? She’s NOT the only one cos they’re from a MUSLIM school’.

Meanwhile the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has denounced the action of the JAMB invigilators and supervisors at the examination centers involved. MURIC’s condemnation was made known in a press statement signed by its Founder and Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

“We are aware of the refusal of some JAMB invigilators and supervisors to allow female Muslim candidates who wore hijab to the centers to sit for the examinations. This action is despicable, repugnant and barbaric. It is also illegal, unlawful, illegitimate and unconstitutional. When will Muslim-haters grow up? When will they become democracy-compliant? When will they respect the rule of law?

“The law says hijab is constitutional (Section 38 (i) and (ii)) but they will rather follow their whims and caprices. The Muslims of the South West are being taken for granted. Our love for peaceful coexistence and our reluctance to take the law into our hands is being mistaken for cowardice. But we will like to warn that there is a limit to patience.

“We remind Muslim haters in the South West that there are no more ‘stupid monkeys’ in Idanre. The only remaining monkeys over there are smarter than homo sapiens. Everyday may be for the oppressors and Muslim-haters but certainly there will be one day for the oppressed Muslims.

“This profiling of Muslims particularly through the denial of hijab rights has been on for a long time. The Muslim victims cry out daily. Many cases of hijab denial are in the courts. Yet the various state governments pretend as if nothing is happening. Worse still, the Federal Government has ‘decided not to interfere’. The message is very clear. The authorities are telling us that the fate of Muslims is in the hands of Muslims.

“MURIC therefore calls on Muslims in the South West to prepare for a long, intellectual and nonviolent struggle. Female Muslim students are hereby instructed to carry recording gadgets on their persons. We want all provocations, victimisations and acts of stigmatization to be secretly recorded wherever they occur because it will be impossible to get a conviction if there is no concrete evidence.

“We charge Islamic organisations, particularly the Muslim lawyers Association (MULAN), the Muslim Teachers Association (MUTAN), the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation (NACOMYO), the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), The Muslim Congress (TMC) to re-engineer their mobilization strategies towards deflating this rising persecution ego among Muslim-haters in the sub-region. It is high time some fanatical Muslim-haters are made to face the full wrath of the law”.

The human rights organization also alleged that a male invigilator touched the female candidates in an improper manner at the same center under the guise of carrying out searches on candidates.

“We strongly object to the way a male invigilator touched all parts of the female candidates at the center under the guise of conducting searches. It is highly unprofessional, immoral, improper and paedophilic. Men should search male candidates while women officials search female candidates. That is the global best practice.

“We aver that improper touching has occurred in this circumstance and somebody must be held accountable for it. Most of the female candidates are underaged and their parents have entrusted them into the hands of JAMB as a social contract. It is child abuse. JAMB authorities have a duty to ask questions and get appropriate answers from the center.

“Those behind this victimization hide under official assignments to perpetrate their evil acts. Unfortunately, all the government institutions which they represent declare their actions illegal. For instance, all the examination bodies have declared that hijab is allowed in examination halls. But no ad hoc or permanent staff has been punished to date for stigmatizing female Muslim students.

“Are these authorities and examination bodies waiting for the time when Muslim youths will mobilise themselves, lay in ambush and take officials who victimize female Muslims to police stations? Who shall we blame at that point? Are the Muslims in the sub-region being pushed to the wall deliberately because some people want to flex muscles or score a religious or political point?

“Although some of the JAMB candidates were later allowed to enter after being made to stay outside for a long time, we still consider this measure as unfair, uncharitable and very provocative. Muslim candidates were delayed outside the examination hall while their Christian counterparts continued writing in an examination in which all the candidates will stop at the same time.

Is this fair? Is it just? Is it equitable? It will be difficult for female Muslim candidates who were intimidated outside the hall to gain their emotional balance immediately. It is also expected that candidates who were delayed outside while their colleagues had already started writing the examination have been disadvantaged. This is one of the methods being used by Christian officials to favour Christian candidates at the expense of their Muslim counterparts.

“It is also important to note that those who persecute female Muslim candidates in hijab have never attempted the same in any part of the North. Perhaps they know the expected consequence.

“We are placing it on record for the day when records will become priceless. More importantly, we are calling the attention of the whole world to the persecution being meted out to Muslims in South West Nigeria. Our detractors are adept at spreading false propaganda.

“Although they are the perpetrators of injustice, they are always the first to rush to the United Kingdom, the United States, the United Nations, etc. Also, they always find a way to sway media sentiment to their side. But we find solace in the knowledge that truth is constant and it will always overwhelm falsehood no matter how long.

“MURIC calls on the JAMB authorities to carry out full investigation into the victimization of female Muslim candidates at New Ocean School, Megida, Ayobo. The circumstances surrounding the improper, immoral and paedophilic searches by a male on underaged girls must also be investigated.

“Before we draw the curtain, we affirm that in view of the incessant violation of extant rules by staff and ad hoc workers and the continuous criminal molestation of female Muslim candidates, JAMB and other national examination bodies like the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) owe it a duty to issue memoranda and publish advertorials containing permission to female Muslim candidates to use hijab and a clear warning to invigilators and supervisors who disallow it. Only thus can the examination bodies assure Nigerians that they are not collaborators in the age-long persecution of Muslims in the South West.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has condemned the massacre of forty nine (49) innocent Muslim worshippers which occurred during Jumu‘ah prayer in ChristChurch, New Zealand yesterday Friday 15th March, 2019. Dozens of worshippers were also injured. The perpetrator has been identified as 29-year-old Australian citizen, Brenton Harrison Tarrant.

MURIC, an Islamic human rights organization, described the killing as a sadistic, vicious and brutish terrorist act. MURIC’s reaction was contained in a press statement issued on Saturday, 16th March, 2019. The statement was signed by the group’s director, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

“This is terrorism at its height and a crime against humanity. This killer, Brenton Harrison Tarrant, is a Christian terrorist, a white supremacist and a monster. It was a blood-chilling incident.

“We wonder if there is no conspiracy somewhere. How did he have close to 20 minutes to operate in two different mosques without a single police officer taking him down? He drove from the first mosque after killing many Muslims and even had the time to wait on the street for pedestrians to cross. Then he drove to the second mosque and continued the dastardly act.

“This is a cold-blooded premeditated terrorist act. It was horrendous. We suspect that the terrorist did not act alone. Logistics must have been provided by somebody or some people. This is the mystery the New Zealand authorities have to unravel.

“This is a cold-blooded premeditated terrorist act. It was horrendous. We suspect that the terrorist did not act alone. Logistics must have been provided by somebody or some people. This is the mystery the New Zealand authorities have to unravel.

“However, we denounce the reluctance of the Western press and its cronies to describe the killing as a Christian terrorist act in the same way that they have always been eager to describe other killings as Islamic terrorism. This New Zealand massacre has no other nomenclature. It is Christian terrorism, loud and clear.

“We condemn selective labeling of crimes. A terrorist act is a terrorist act, no matter the background of the perpetrator. But it is hypocritical to limit terrorism to Muslims alone while the Western press and its surrogates find soft landing semantics for those who commit worse crimes against Muslims.

“Criminally-minded individuals and groups abound in all faiths and in all cultures. It is therefore unfair to label Muslims alone as terrorists. This year alone, between January and February 2019, several terrorist acts were perpetrated on American soil and none was traced to a Muslim. Yet none was labelled as a terrorist act.

“On January 23, 2019, Zephen Xaver, 21, killed five women at the SunTrust Bank in Sebring, Florida. On January 26, 2019, Dakota Theriot, 21, fatally shot his parents and three other people in Ascension and Livingston churches, in the U.S. state of Louisiana. Again on February 15, 2019, Gary Montez Martin, a 45-year-old American, killed six people and injured another six.

“The anatomy of terrorism is becoming clearer day by day. Those who accuse Muslims of violence and terrorism should ponder over the causal-effect theory. Violence and terrorism are mere symtoms. The real disease is injustice and provocation. Violence and terrorism are mere smoke. Injustice is the fire.

“We all know that there is no smoke without fire and it is the height of stupidity for firefighters to turn their water hoses towards the smoke, leaving the fire to continue raging. Justice is the soul of peace. Those who deny one cannot enjoy the other. This is MURIC’s analysis of the symbiotic relationship between injustice, provocation, violence and terrorism.

“Our solace lies in the belief that the victims died as martyrs. Al-Jannah is therefore guaranteed for them, moreso since their killing occurred during worship. It is the heartless killer and all those who helped him who will burn ad infinitum in hell. We pray for the families they left behind. May Allah grant them the spiritual, moral and material fortitude to bear the loss.

“Before we fold our mats, we charge the New Zealand authorities to ensure that justice is done. The families of the victims of this terror act must be adequately compensated. It is our considered opinion that crimes should be related to individual criminals and not to their religions, country or tribe”.

We will rise in the cause of Allah to defend our muslim men, women and children who are oppressed due to their weakness.
Christianity EtcCAN advise SW governors to ban the use of hijab, turn public schools to mission by OfficialMURIC(op):
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has complained that its office has been inundated with reports about requests made by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) from gubernatorial candidates in the South West. According to MURIC, some of the candidates have allegedly agreed with CAN to ban the use of hijab in public schools, to return public schools to missionaries and to cancel the hijrah and maolud holidays.

MURIC, an Islamic human rights organization, made the complaint in a public statement signed by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Monday, 4th March, 2019.

“We wish to caution gubernatorial candidates in the South Western states where elections are expected to hold on Saturday, 9th March, 2019 against entering into any unholy, illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional agreements with state branches of CAN or any individual or group of persons on issues pertaining to Allah-given fundamental rights of Muslims in their states.

Such agreements are null and void and of no effect whatsoever. Whoever does so is on his own. Muslims of the region will not compromise their civil liberty. Neither will MURIC stand akimbo while any new state government takes away what Muslims have been enjoying in the past. Whoever is contemplating such an action must be prepared to face Muslims in the region in another long struggle. Only a governor who does not wish to enjoy peace in his state will think of doing such things.

We expect in-coming governors to work towards a harmonious relationship between the adherents of different faiths in their state. It will be most unwise, therefore, to displease one group at the expense of another. Gubernatorial candidates should note that the constitution of Nigeria guarantees religious freedom. Therefore, no governorship candidate should contemplate withdrawing any of the civil liberties enjoyed by Muslims in their states.

This statement is necessary in order to prepare the minds of gubernatorial aspirants. Nobody should say the Muslims did not give any warning. Ceteris paribus, Muslims are easy going, simple and peace-loving. They are ready to peacefully coexist with others if nobody attempts to trample on their religious freedom. A word is enough for the wise.

To cap the edifice, we affirm that what matters to MURIC most is good governance. The political parties have picked candidates of their choice based on certain criteria. Our own parameter will be based on performance in the areas of raising the people’s standard of living, securing lives and properties, general welfare, equal rights and justice, particularly ensuring that Muslims are not shortchanged in any way. In a multi-religious environment like ours, we must stop insisting on having Muslims or Christians at the helm of affairs. We must jettison sentiment. Merit should be the watchword.
