ALIENS was cool. Sigourney Weaver got an Oscar nomination for her role in the film.

Aliens is a brilliant sequel to a masterpiece. AND it is a masterpiece on its own right. This is a film where the director James Cameron cared for the story, characters, special effects, thrills and scares like his life depended on it .


The performances are top class as well. Another excellent turn from Sigourney Weaver. Michael Biehn is great as Dwayne Hicks. Bill Paxton was superb and funny as Hudson . Jeanette Goldstein rocked as Vasquez, her bandanna wardrobe reminded me of Robert Shaw's Quint in Jaws . . . . . .

And like that shark classic, this film is a winner because you end up caring about the characters and hope that they escape from the terrible menace they face .

Alien is a Masterpiece. Well, that goes twice for Aliens, one of the greatest sequels and greatest horror science fiction movies ever made</sup> [/size]

Really liked it. You'd have to have a decent amount of knowledge of English Lit to get most of the comic references though. Still enjoyed it

I have come to the conclusion that the only way to rank films that are at the very pinnacle of movie-making is to get very picky and imagine what tiny facet or detail could be changed to improve them. With this criteria in mind I can think of only two movies that meet the challenge of being flawless, "To Kill A Mockingbird" and "The Godfather". I give the edge to "To Kill A Mockingbird" as the superior film because of the powerful social statement and Gergory Pecks incredible portrayal of the archetypal father figure, Atticus Finch.

This is simply the finest overall display of movie-making I've ever seen and remains my favorite movie of all time .</sup> [/size]
