I had been waiting to see this film ever since I read about it and it was even better than I expected. First of all it made me sad that American movies so seldom stretch to achieve what film is really capable of as an art form which I believe this film does. The acting was unbelievable, especially the performance of the actor who played Wiesler His communication of the changes this man went through, how we went from being a lonely automaton to risking everything "for others" was a landmark of acting, the transition was made through his expressions and his actions, without any speeches or lightning bolts from heaven. All of the acting was superb, even the "villains" in the chain of command who epitomized the banality of evil and the mindset of someone who "goes along to get along" The arc of the relationship between the playwright and his mistress the actress was poignant and showed the pressures people can give in to when they feel they have no where else to turn.

The complexity of the plot requires close attention, but it doesn't drag or get tedious. Finally the poignancy of the situation was heightened by our knowledge, but not that of the protagonists, that within just a few years this whole rotten structure would come tumbling down. This is a film that is required viewing for any true film lover like me. . . .</sup> [/size]

Well , i have seen so many version of THE PROPOSAL both ordinary Movies and TV Series but i wish you can indicate the one you're actually talking abouf. . . . like the proposal have the one of year 1949 which is directed by Joseph Marzano- Starring is Carol Slade and Joseph Regina then the 2007 version which is directed by Thomas J. Chavez - Starring is Sherrie Anderson, Julie Capp and Peter Curtis , we also have the one of the year 2008 The Proposal 1 Directed by Mike Ryan , Starring is ~ Joseph Meissner, Tiffany Campo and Ryan H. Martin and also 2009 version which i believe its the part 2 of the 2008 directed by Mike~ and even the 2000 version and the present one now 2011- so which one of them have you seen?

I just watched this film today on DVD. It's one of my favorites and I'm just amazed every time I watch it. SATAN! , what a beautiful film . . . Although, I have to say, I wasn't crazy about it at first . I came to appreciate it more after watching it two or three times.

I know epic films aren't for everyone, but I keep returning to this one time and again. The way the film is shot and edited is breathtaking. The acting is top notch and played to the hilt. What I find most fascinating about this film is the metamorphosis of T.E. Lawrence in the process. He's a man who rises to become a legend who is then repeatedly reminded that he is just a man. How does one face this? It's an interesting journey (and worth watching 100 times!) .</sup> [/size]
