ON DAVE UMAHI’S SAGA: PDP IS NOT A NIGERIAN CITIZEN…

A vote belongs to who casts it, and to whom it is cast. The letters of political franchise say – every citizen of Nigeria has the right to vote and be voted for. The right to vote and be voted for is the right of a Nigerian citizen, not that of a political party. To say Dave Umahi is not the owner of the vote cast in his favour is to deliberately disenfranchise a Nigerian – that he cannot be voted for, or that PDP is a Nigerian citizen who can be voted for.

Dave Umahi paid for his candidacy, funded the financial burden of his campaign, sought the trust of the electorates with his legacies, pedigree and portfolio and electioneered with his blood, brine and bones. Won the elections and got elected as a Governor. This is the choice of the people of Ebonyi State.

I have always insisted that our lawyers make only valid arguments, not sound ones. Justice Inya Ekwo failed to recognize that the certificate of return belongs to Dave Umahi, and he alone, never to the PDP.

The school I got my First School Leaving Certificate cannot wake up after 34 months and decide to withdraw my FSLC because I did not continue the second tier of my formal education in her own secondary school. Or demand for it to be given to some other student because I got to JS2 in her own secondary school and ‘defected’ to another school.

My WASSC does not belong to my school because the name of my school was written on it. My WASSC would not be declared stolen and invalid because I am no longer a student of Alma Mater, hence transferred to another student of the school – can you imagine such an argument from a learned judge. My WASSC would not become invalid because I do not look like the 17-year-old boy on the passport photo affixed to it. The ownership of any certificate is sealed with a biometric identity. There is only one, unique biological and biometric identity in Ebonyi State called Dave Umahi. The biometric identity with which Dave’s certificate of return was sealed belongs to him, and him alone. There is no one and unique biological signature called PDP in Ebonyi State. There is no citizen of Ebonyi State who could legally contest for the seat of the governorship called PDP.

The difference between the party and the governor is clear. The governor belongs to those who cast their vote in his favour during the elections and to those who did not cast their vote in his favour the moment he becomes elected.

If Dave Umahi gets into the EFCC net at the end of his tenure, it is only Dave Umahi and he alone, would answer to the man sitting behind the eagle crest in Abuja, not PDP.

If a vote of no confidence or impeachment is served on Dave Umahi, he must be the only man to step down from the executive seat. PDP won’t cease to exist because Dave Umahi no longer exists as the governor.

A Governor cannot serve more than 8-year two tenures, but the PDP has been serving in various capacities in Nigeria for almost 25 years.

Dave Umahi must involve whatever it takes, blood and sand - if he must, to upturn the ridiculous illogical ruling of the misinformed Ekwo.

I have always argued this, and will keep arguing in this line. If any man is Igbo and can wrestle power out of the palms of the North to the South-East, he must be a brutal mafia and must not fear blood. If Ojukwu had feared blood and waited, maybe the July’66 counter-coup would still be raging and there would be no trace of Igbo DNA within Nigeria. If Nnamdi Kanu had feared, and used soothing less-provoking words in his broadcasts, the struggle for restoration of Biafra might not have been in Nigeria’s courts today. You don’t chase what bites with bare palms.

Of all the politicians of Igbo origin, the only man that has proven that he could handle the excesses of the violent North is Umahi. If Gov Wike was from the South East, I’d recommend him for the task of wrestling the mantle of leadership from the North as I would recommend Gov Umahi. Umahi would not handle violent threats to Nigeria’s political stability with kid’s gloves; he’ll give any Gowon what Ojukwu gave him in 1967. If Umahi was not a threatening presidential aspirant, there won’t be any rancour from Gov Wike promising Umahi a dead-end in the Supreme Court.

With an Igbo in Aso Rock in 2023, the negotiation for the actualization of the sovereign state of Biafra would take a fraternal nature. The destiny of an Igbo man in Nigeria can only be discussed if only an Igbo man is at the helm of the affairs in Aso Rock. If any current Igbo politician can claim Nigeria’s first seat, it is the man PDP are fighting to keep out of politics.

In a recap, PDP is not a Nigerian Citizen, and can neither vote nor be voted for.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN HIGH COURT OF EBONYI STATE AND FEDERAL HIGH COURT, ABUJA.


No matter the back door approach, PDP can never smell Government House, Ebonyi State, abusing a court process just to get a judgement whereas a court of same power has earlier passed/delivered judgement on same matter can never work.

On the purported claim of the Sack

A High Court in Ebonyi State which is of same and equal jurisdiction had on Monday 28th, February passed a judgement sacking the application for the sack of on the basis of lacking merit and furtherance argued that there is no provision in the constitution that provides for defection as one of the grounds for the vacation or removal of a person as Governor or as Deputy Governor.

He cited certain judicial pronouncements on similar matters especially at Appellant Courts, leading to his victory in the Abakaliki Division of High Court on Monday 28th February, 2022.

If not the purpose of distraction, has PDP got any other thing to gain? Absolutely NO.
Instead of wailing , they should go and appeal the earlier judgement as delivered on 28th February ,2022 by Justice Henry Njoku of Abakaliki High Court.
It is no doubt that the rising profile of His Excellency, Engr Chief David Nweze Umahi Fnse, fnate is intimidating the PDP Ebonyi State, APC is Ebonyi and Ebonyi State is APC and as such we refuse to be distracted.

I call on all members and supporters of All Progressives Congress APC, Ebonyi State to go about their normal business unperturbed as this distraction called Abuja Judgement cannot see the light of the day thus it is an abuse of court process.

*Gov Wike's reckless outburst against Gov David Umahi: An affront on Nigeria Judiciary*



The attention of the Ebonyi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to the reckless outburst of the primitive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike. The Rivers State Governor was reacting to the very unjust and widely condemnable Federal High Court ruling which recently sacked Governor Umahi and his Deputy, Dr. Kelechi Igwe.


After listening to Governor Wike's reckless tirades against Governor Umahi, which is very characteristic of him,the Ebonyi APC feels obligated to reply the garrulous, highly pompous but poorly performing Governor of Rivers State, and to place him where he rightly belongs. This is moreso given that he has achieved nothing other than violence, turbulence and destruction of people's hard-earned property ever since he became the Governor of Rivers State

1.Nigerians are very much aware that there is no comparison between the widely rated performing Governor of Ebonyi State,Engr. Chief David Umahi, and the power-drunk Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, in any area, as Governor Umahi clearly surpasses the sleeping Governor of Rivers state in all indexes of performance both in private life and in Public service.


2. It is a measure of the rot in our Democracy that a Governor of a state will have no qualms in publicly reprimanding and threatening to deal with a fellow Governor over an issue that is before a court of competent jurisdiction. It speaks to the malaise in the Nigeria judiciary, and further lends credible credence to the insinuations that our judicial system are indeed being manipulated by some powerful forces against the ordinary Nigerians.


3:Governor David Umahi has since appealed the judgement of the Federal High Court Abuja , while hoping that the appellate courts will upturn the ruling of the lower court because it is not in consonance with any of the already established legal precedents on the issue of defection in the country.


4. Having said that , Nigerians are however invited to note that the current travails of Governor David Umahi has nothing whatsoever to do with offending any law, but a clear case of political enemies persecuting a performing Governor because of his rising political profile as indicated by the utterances of Governor Wike.

5. Wike should know that it is God that lifts and not mortals like him. So, no amount of his evil plots will be portent enough as to be able to dislodge nor remove a serving Governor who was single-handedly installed by God Himself for a unique purpose for His people.

6.Wike and his co- travelers should go to hell and burn to ashes if they cannot accept the verdict of God which has clearly positioned Governor Umahi as the most qualified and preferred aspirant to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023, and stop behaving like sadists who are hell-bent on equalizing misery.

7. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State, the good people of Ebonyi State and indeed all lovers of Democracy will continue to support and pray for Governor Umahi not only for the restoration of his mandate, but also for his victory as the president of Nigeria in 2023, because the wickedness of men can never overshadow the grace and mercy of God almighty.

8.If not that Governor Umahi has warned us against attacking any leader or Governor on his behalf, i would have properly situated the despicable character in Rivers State Government House who now masquerade as a Governor. However Governor Wike is once again advised to focus his attention on solving the numerous developmental challenges bufetting his Rivers State, and stop dissipating energy sounding like the godfather of the Nigeria body-polity.
