Community Volunteering is one of the most significant yet under-recognised means through which public services reach the poorest and most marginalised communities. In many countries there is an extensive infrastructure of schools, hospitals, security services and even social protection schemes, but poor people do not get access to them.
Volunteers play a significant role in helping to bridge this gap;

By becoming a volunteer in your community you can make a change by letting your voice be heard within society, allowing you to express your thoughts and opinions on certain issues that have occurred that you have previously not been given a say in. This could inspire more events or services that could gradually assist more people.

Did you know that someone living with HIV can live for as many years as he/she wants? Do you know that HIV does not show on ones face? Did you know that someone living with HIV can give birth to a negative child? Here are the treat to this questions
Globally, there are over 36.7 millions of people living with HIV/AIDs of which Nigeria is one of the country recorded with the highest. 80℅ of the infected people contract the disease through heterosexual intercourse. This shows that the rates at which the infection spread is beyond measures.
HIV stands for Human immunodeficiency Virus which is a virus that transmitted into AIDs which stands for Acquire Immune Deficiency Syndrome. One getting to AIDs, it can never be subdue which can metamorphoses to death. This is an infection that is not curable but can be maintained in such a way that you can still live your perfect life without problem.
Ways of contracting HIV is categories into four which are: Unprotected sexual intercourse, this is very common in the World. 80% of people living with the infection contract it through sex. This is basically when you have sex with HIV infected person without protecting yourself. There is high tendency that you will contract it if adequate protection is nkt put in place. Through blood or blood product transfusion is another way one can contract the infection. This is when a blood or blood product carrying the virus is transfused to an uninfected person. Through unsteriled sharp objects is another way one can easily contract the infection; this is when someone share sharp objects such as blade, clipper, etc with someone infected with HIV. The last means of contracting HIV is through mother to child; this is an act at which an infected mother transfer the infection to the unborn child. HIV can be prevented, this is when adequate protection are put in place. There are several ways of preventing HIV. Some of which are;
Abstinence: this is very important and vital. This is an act of refraining from any form of sexual intercourse in other to prevent unwanted disease or infection. If you refrain from sexual intercourse, there is no way you can easily contract the infection except other means of which the chances are slim.
Be faithful, this sounds funny but it is the basic truth. If you know you cannot abstain from sex, the best thing is to be faithful with your partner. Make sure that you don't have sex with multiple partners.
Condomise, this is a camel's back, if you cannot abstain, you cannot be faithful with your partner, Abeg use condom. This will help to protect you from contracting the infection. However, condom is 90% save.
Objects, make sure that you do not share sharp objects with one and if shared make sure you sterilise it appropriately before use.
Make sure all blood or blood product are confirmed to be virus free before use!
However, there are some basic symptoms that shows when someone contract the infection. Although this symptom are not full the parameters to determine whether one is infected or not, that is why proper artificial test must be done in other to know your statue. Also this symptoms might not occur at the early stage. This includes,
Persistent fever, persistent cough, diarrhea, skin infection, and the likes. Note: this is just some of the symptoms and might not even occur sometimes
Showing love to the infected people can be the best thing ever. This means that you must not stigmatize people living with the infection rather you show them love and respect. Also protects there fundamental human right!
There are various centers at which you can get Anti-retroviral drug which will help to reduce the blood count.
