Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - 2014 (5 years) Nokia N8 - 2012 (7 years) Both devices still working fine although I've had to change battery and panel (water spill) of the Samsung. The Nokia, however, has never been unscrewed neither has any part been changed since I got it. I just trust that brand and that's why I have ordered Nokia X6. I'd finally retire the N8 when the X6 arrives. |

troubleseller: Thanks for your response. 1. The monsters are basic monsters. No superpowers except super sensitive hearing. The lady killed one with a shotgun, didn't she? America is known to love guns. So, are you saying that because the people panicked, they were all killed and nobody could not shoot them? 2. Which antidote? Keeping quiet? 5. They are supposed to set up tents, not houses. They could pack those tents in their backpacks, couldn't they? At least they showed them moving with backpacks. |

@JeromeBlack Flaws in A Quiet Place. 1. The total number of humans in the movie was not up to seven so we can assume that the monsters wiped almost all the population. We were not shown how the humans were killed by the monsters, we only saw that somehow a family managed to survive. Now, tell me, how can a physical monster (having no supernatural power except its acute sense of hearing) kill everybody and nothing was done to kill them. Are you saying that America has no advanced weapon that can contain and kill these monsters? No one thought to use high pitched sounds to repel them? 2. How did the family survive? If everyone was talking and getting killed, how did they manage to keep a family safe through it all? 3. The deaf girl knew that her hearing aid somehow affected the monsters. She didn't use it when her dad was killed but she remembered it when the monsters invaded their home. 4. The fact that there was barely any dialogue made this movie so boring for me (speaking for myself). I enjoy some Charlie Chaplin silent films like City Lights, etc but A Quiet Place neither passes for a normal film nor a silent one. 5. The father tells his son that the monsters won't hear them if they speak close to loud natural sounds. He knew his wife was pregnant but he couldn't set up a camp or something beside the waterfall for the screams of childbirth. 6. There was a scene where the monster was very close to the woman and she was clearly panting. For a creature with super sensitive hearing, it should have picked up her sounds. 4 Likes |

JeromeBlack: When you said you had a lot to write, I honestly expected some very deep flaws. I respect your opinions nonetheless and I will try to explain some parts to you. 1. About the no-happy-ending. It is a horror film so why would you even expect a happy ending? What makes the film even scarier is the thought that eventually, the remaining people on earth will either be crazy or blind. In fact, humans are gonna evolve and children are probably gonna be born blind in order to survive, or they may even be blinded artificially when they are born. Again, it's horror. 2. I don't have facts to back up your second point and if you do, please share. What I do know is that even self-driving cars use sensors to navigate easily so I wonder why it would be so difficult to drive with only sensors. 3. Seriously? This is a point?! Well, I didn't think the black guy behaved oddly at all and I'm seeing this for the first time on your post. I think he was just caring for a pregnant woman and I don't think there was anything wrong with that. 4. You may be right on this one. Maybe Sandra Bullock should have lost the pregnancy in the accident but then again, I don't think pregnancies are easily lost like that na. It wasn't as if something hit her belly in the accident so this point too may not be that valid. 5. This one is hard to debate and you have made a valid point. I don't have facts but I assume it would be extremely difficult to row blindfolded. Although, I think they were instructed to "follow the currents", no? 6. Yes, this is the one I've been waiting for. You obviously didn't understand the concept of the "monster", did you? The monster takes the form of your deepest fear or your deepest regret such that it drives you into a severe depression that you'd instantly take your own life. It may not have a defined form since everyone's fear and regrets may not be the same. Also, the fact that it does not have a defined form is exactly why it may be impossible to kill. This was also why it was easy to wipe out almost everyone from earth. If you have seen the 2017 movie adaptation of Stephen King's novel "It", you may understand better where they got this "monster" idea. 7. Finally, there's hardly any "original story" anymore. Most of the movies we watch now are recycled. Blue Jasmine was recycled from A Streetcar Named Desire and it received critical acclaim. So many other movies like that. I am not saying Bird Box was a perfect film, I am only saying that I prefer it to A Quiet Place and I'm gonna write about the flaws of AQP soon. 1 Like |

Bird Box is kinda similar to A Quiet Place. In Bird Box, you must not open your eyes while in A Quiet Place, you must not make a sound. I really enjoyed Bird Box though and I found it very interesting. A Quiet Place, on the other hand, was really dull and boring. They didn't say much throughout the movie so it almost felt like a silent film. |

talut: I'm sure you wouldn't have seen anything wrong with the video if the Y9 had beaten the X6 in the "speed test" flawlessly. In the end, what matters is the practical use of a phone and not the benchmark scores. |
Phones / Re: HUAWEI Y9 2019 Official Discussion Thread by OgidiOlu3(m): 10:55am On Dec 19, 2018 |
talut: I agree but that's the way speed tests are done now. Before, they used to be solely dependent on benchmark scores. Search speed tests for any two phones on Youtube and you'll see that what you get will be similar to the video I posted. |

flexerking: The only advantage the Y9 has over the X6 is the battery. It's obvious you're a Y9 user so I don't blame your sentimental opinions. I don't use any of the phones but I prefer the X6. You said the Y9's design is better than the X6's? Ha! How do you choose mere plastic over a phone with Aluminium frame + glass back + dual led flash + Corning Gorilla glass 3 + FM radio + USB C + Android One (for nternational market) + 432 ppi density? You said the Kirin 710 is way better than the Snapdragon 636. That may be true on paper but practically, they are about the same. Check out this speed test comparison on both. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUU8SRgftOY |

I sent this to someone so I'll like to share these tips with everyone writing Ielts today or later. For Ielts, I used mainly https://ieltsonlinetests.com and http://ieltsliz.com. I also saw some youtube videos for Speaking. Ieltsonlinetests is a good site to practise both Listening and Reading. The questions are somewhat more difficult than the actual exam but it will help you prepare well for the exam. When I was preparing, I did about 1 hr per day practising. Some days, I skipped but I tried to cover a lot in the week before the exam especially Writing. Ieltsliz is a great source for tips on the whole Ielts exam and it will help with Writing too. I never wrote any practise essay before the exam. I only read different essay model answers on Ieltsliz before the exam. If you can, write practise essays and have someone score your performance. There are paid services for this online, even on ieltsonlinetests. Some tips: 1. Use pencil throughout even in Writing so that it will be easy to erase should you make a mistake. 2. Write your Listening and Reading answers in capital letters so that it will be legible for the examiner. 3. In Writing, always start with Task 2. Task 2 carries twice the marks of Task 1 but most people waste a lot of time doing Task 1 first. Task 1 is letter writing and it should not be less than 150 words while Task 2 is essay and should not be less than 250 words. From the bottom of my heart, I wish you all the best. 12 Likes 1 Share |

I will be going to WAEC office later today or tomorrow so if anyone is interested in buying the scratch cards and sending to WES, please contact me. There's also a DHL office in my office building and the last time I sent some docs through them to Canada, I paid N18,500 and it got there in 4 days. It makes no sense sending one scratch card for that amount so let's split the bills. 2 Likes |

Ifeoma77:Thanks, Ifeoma. I have already sent the verification letter I got from Waec. On WES' portal, it shows that they have received the document but they await verification. I thought this meant someone from Waec will have to verify the validity of the letter. Are you saying I will still send them just Waec result checker scratch card with my reference number? |

Hi all, I have been following for some time now. My ECA is still pending with my Uni and Waec so I intend to go and sort it next week. I wrote the Ielts on Nov 10 for the first time and my result was: Listening 8 Reading 9 Writing 7 Speaking 8 WES has gotten my transcript, school certificate and Waec certificate but they need verification. I will go and sort the verification with my school but I don't know the process for Waec. If you have info on how to go about it, kindly share. We must all go this Canada by God's Grace 34 Likes |
