I’m in a tough situation and would really appreciate your thoughts.

I’m 25 years old, and my father is determined to sell his only house to fund my travel to the UK. Despite my repeated attempts to convince him otherwise, he insists that this is the best way to secure my future. While I deeply appreciate his sacrifice and belief in me, I can’t help but worry about the risks.

Selling his only home means he will have nowhere to fall back on if things don’t go as planned. And as much as I want to explore better opportunities abroad, I don’t want to see him struggle or regret this decision later.

In fact, the naira's volatility means USD/GBP/EUR are the ideal currencies to present your financial evidence in.

Granted, the exchange rate used by UKVI will be the rate at the date of application, but you'd have lost money if the currency depreciates significantly during processing.

There is no number of transactions requirement for your account.

Yes, I was at the bank this morning, and I was told the payment was successfully sent. They printed out the session ID slip for me, which I’ve forwarded to Flywire. I’m just curious why no one has experienced this before.

If flywire do not received the payment, you will definitely get your money back on Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Best advice is you should go to your bank and lodge complaint.

Well, you can just relax and let it sink in on Monday.
Fly wire surely send acknowledgment email for payment in two working days.
If you don’t hear from them on Monday, contact your bank to be sure the payment is went through. Afterwards, you contact fly wire.
No need to panic.

I'd suggest you primarily follow up with Flywire, not your bank.
They'll still receive it and will acknowledge it.
Wire transfers are usually irreversible, once completed.
This is why payment methods offering instant settlement are usually ideal for these sorts of payments. I've experienced wire transfers taking as much as 2 whole weeks to settle, so it's highly discouraged as a payment method when you don't have boatloads of time.

Take note, for future payments.
Get a foreign currency card or send Flywire nairas.

It was naira I sent from my first bank to the Wema account they provided. They should pls oooo ha!!

Since they claimed they didn’t get the payment, the next option is to contact your bank for refund.
I think the payment went through, cos they can’t receive the payment and claimed they didn’t.
You include your student ID in the reference while making the payment

The holiday messed things up cuz I made the payment on 24th which is Wednesday…
