SavageResponse:

The current exchange rate of Naira to US$ is about N580

This means that the current value of N3 million is equivalent to US$5,172

Based on present economic realities in Nigeria in the next 5 years $1 would be exchanging for around N2,000

This means that in the next 5 years N5 million would be roughly equivalent to around US$2,500

If you were a bank or finance company would you lend someone $5,172 today then wait roughly 5 years to be repaid $2,500?

From your analysis, that's expecting the economic to continue in it's current trend, but what if it reverse? No matter how much you analysis the market no one can predict the future. Instead of asking questions without answers or solution. Why not state your own expection for the loan. What do you think is a better repayment and interest?

TV/Movies / I'm Looking For Sponsors For A 2D Animation Project by Ogim: 9:29am On Feb 02, 2021
Good day everyone. My name is Ogim Ekpezu, I’m a comic book artist, digital painter and Animator. Some of you might know my works. I’m looking for sponsors to help me realize a short animation film project I’ve been planning on for some time now. But due to my job and side hustling it’s been hard to work on the project. One of them has to go for me to be able to work on the animation, of course the side hustling has to go for now. Unfortunately At my age of 31, I now have people to take care of and more responsibility, spending time and money on a project I’m not expecting to make profit from can be a little daunting.

Personally I don’t intend to make money out of the project. The reason I want to do this is to inspire and show others that good quality 2D Animation that can be compared to Japanese Animation can be done in Nigeria, and it can be done by one person or a small group, it just takes a little longer to finish. Why I’m saying this is because I’ve seen a lot of our Animation in Nigeria and majority are 3d. The reason they do 3d is because they feel it’s easier cos they only need to rig the model. But art doesn’t work that way, by skipping 2D they miss some basic knowledge that would have help to make those 3D much better. I want to inspire people to do more 2D animation.

Those who will sponsors this Animation, I’ll add your names as sponsors in the animation credit. Either at the beginning or at the end of the Animation depending on the number of people. If you also have a company or business I’ll gladly add it as a sponsor at the beginning of the Animation or the end, again depending on the number. I also give you the right to post or use the Animation however you want as long as my name and the name of other sponsors and businesses are not removed from the animation.
Like I mentioned before, I don’t intend to make any money from this but to inspire other artists to branch into 2D Animation and help promote the medium in Nigeria.

Some of my animation roughs and paintings from other projects are below. Thank you for taking the time to read this. You can reach me at my WhatsApp number 08156946878. I will explain my idea for the short film.

Thank you.

Cool and congrats on registering your comic company. I sent you a friend request on Facebook. After my real name is DM in brackets short form of my name here. So that you will know it's me.

There lots of groups i'm on for you to build your audience for your comics or other services. I dunno where you are based though but in Lagos comics both foreign and Nigerian go for between 1-2k.

You can also search online for print companies in China that print way cheaper than Nigerian printers. Check Printivo (www.printivo.com),a popular firm in Lagos to see if their prices are ok and they deliver anywhere in Nigeria.

You said you are working with some friends on some books right. That is a good idea, just divide the work amongst them and not overwork yourself. Even if you have to train a person willing to learn then do it.

Lagos ComicCon 2018 is coming up soon if you can attend this year. I plan to be there for sure as usual.

Thanks for the info. I'm base in calabar, I'll personally like to attend the lagos comic con but i know my job won't allow cos i started it. But i'll pass the info to my college in lagos right now. Thanks for the website i'll take my time to check their their pricing range. Its surprising how comics have become so expensive now, a friend told me the other day she bought super strika N500, i was like, what year?, cos i used to buy super strika back when i was in secondary school and it was N20 lol, Things have really gone up, but still buying a comic of 22 to 26 pages for 1-2k, i find that to be on the high side for most people especially now, we've actually found a place place to print for N500 per book, but from survey, it needs to go lower. It will work out in the end, i don't start anything i don't intend to finish.

Its been a while. Too much things to do, no time again to just relax and draw whatever i want. And i just registered a comic company and am also working on some books with some friends. The first book i worked on was in colour but printing was expensive so i had to change it to black and white. Its still ok, but the second most be in colour, I just finished the first issue of the second book. I'll post some of the pages later and we're still editing some stuff.
We're also trying to minimize the price of the books. If we print at the current quotation we're giving, the book will be costly for the reader. We want it cheap enough that the reader won't think too much but just buy. I know people will say if the story is interesting the price don't matter, right! but it does. I'm a Nigerian and i know how we think, forget story. Even if its the most interesting stuff, at the end Nigerians will look at the price and your readers will be minimal. Its surprising that till this day so many people don't know what comic is, while others have this bias mindset that all drawings are for children. I personally don't like targeting children as my audience, i prefer making a more mature content. Well which ever the case, once we sort out the pricing and printing issues then things will move forward better. For now i'm writing and drawing more pages i n my spare time.

I just came across this software "Medibang". It's very good, from the videos i've seen, especially for does who want to go into digital painting; and it's totally free.

Nice work with the art.

The coloring needs a bit more variation not to look the same in all panels.

I observed the lettering of the comic and your choice of fonts needs a little more work. You can find more about these fonts online as follows:

For your cover pages and credits: Brix Slab,Gotham,Myriad Pro,Century Gothic,Adam.CG
A comic logo done added would be nice.

For your interior pages: CC Wild and Crazy,CC Wild Words,CC Zoinks,BB Shock Therapy.

Examples are in my lettering samples attached here.

Thanks for the advice. I love ur works. As for fonts, i dont ve does fonts, my fonts are limited, i dont like using anything that i didn't buy or came completely royalty free to work with, i tried purchasing fonts from some website but was having some issues with paypal, so i just use comic san sm, for all my works for the time being. Hopefully in time i'll be able get some good fonts to work with, i'll search for the ones you listed, but if you know how i could get them place let me know. As for the colours, most of my works are night scenes, so im trying keep it warm and create a sense of impending drama. Frankly, now think about it, i dont do much actions or superhero or things in daylight, its usually night and horror. I need to change something. But i do ve other works i dont post cos its official and i dont really own them, so im trying to avoid issues that may arise from posting them without permission. Thanks for pointing things out and if you see something else please point it out. As artist its hard to judge our own works, as you do hopefully ill learn and improve, there's always room for improvement.

Quick Practice - Whenever Im not working on something, I still ve to exercise my hands. Being an artist is not a born gift, it's an acquired skill. Practice is important for improvement.

baba what app and tools did you use especially for head tie and face, pls
I used inkscape for the portrait. For comics, I use gimp for the inking and colouring. Both software are free to download and use. Sometimes,I use Krista for colouring, it's also free and very good but I rarely use it.
