There really is no need for this Peugeot/ Corolla Ding bat fighting. To each person their own.Experience still remains the best teacher.come here and still observe what is being shared and take vital notes but when you hit the road you will see things for what they really are and you can learn your lessons, lick your wounds or even celebrate your victory.I remember being told by Ogunvic not to use a car not working properly for uber but i did strong head and suffered for it for 3 weeks till now that partner owes me 30k and still the car is not okay and it was a peugeot and when light would break and we discovered wrong wiring issues the guy stylishly took his car back but has not paid me for all i spent on his car but i needed that experience becuase it exposed me to a lot and now gave me confidence to get my 407 naija used and seriously abused but thank God ave been able to use it but need to still do some repairs but reading through different forums even here on NL has greatly helped because just as there are lots of negative 406/407 notions just as there are positives same with corolla and kia/elantra so i guess people would learn more from their own personal experiences.

in other news have Uber riders reduced or Dru 23 and FleetXpert have used their cars to take all the riders i was only able to do like 8 trips between 2pm and 11pm but fortunately mostly long trips otherwise eye for red small oo..i did not even have any back to back trip and most times even on the island i stayed for 20mins no ride..enjoy the day ahead people.let it be fruitful for everyone by God's Grace..
Riders reduced? NO...

Ogunvic4 and Romoe3 pls stop trying convince people to buy Peugeot. You've explained yourselves enough for discerning minds to choose.
No need trying to argue with those who prefer corollas.
My manager can never buy Peugeot again on his life.
My wife can never buy a Toyota.
Both based on experience

I think we should bury this debate here.
OK sir

Guy why did you attack me.
Do I know you before.

No problems I can see that you an agbero who is ready to pick fight with anybody. I am not the type who will pick fight with you.

You should keep shouting for people to buy Peugeot or go to any carmart to stop anybody who wants to buy corolla for Uber.

Better still You can tell copart to stop auctioning cars for potential uber partners

If you are not satisfied with these you can go channels TV or you can carry placard announcing to the whole world that Peugeot is better than corollas.

And if people continue to buy corollas for Uber you can hug the transformer around your house or just speed into any army barracks in sight.

Conclusion
You and Ogunvic4 are mannerless and highly narrow minded mofos. I can never buy Peugeot for Uber... come and beat me

Stop shouting on this forum like a madman

As regards resale/second hand value...
Transport vehicles don't have good resale values, they were used for commercial purpose, they were used extensively buyers don't buy them well...
For instance- DANFO BUSES, BRT BUSES,TOYOTA HIACE BUSES, CARS USED BY BANKS AND COMPANIES, CARS USED FOR UBER/TAXIFY ETC...
I can't buy a corolla 2003/2004/2005 that has been used for two years on uber a taxify for more than 800k,but I can buy a privately used Toyota corolla for 1.3m. Why will I bother myself on resale value when am gonna make my returns in less than a year, after two years I can give out the car...
PEUGEOT 407 Nigerian used is about 1.1m to 1.4m PEUGEOT 406 2003/2004 Nigerian used is 800k to 1.2m(very good one) Toyota corolla Nigerian used is about 1.2m to 1.3m( good ones) SO TELL ME HOW A PEUGEOT 406 AND 407 NEVER HAD A GOOD RESALE VALUE...
VERY SOON LAGOS RESIDENTS WILL NO LONGER BUY TOYOTA COROLLAS AT HIGHER RATES BECAUSE MOST WOULD HAVE BEEN USED ON UBER/TAXIFY...I WATCH COROLLAS DEPRECIATE SOON IN LAGOS AUTOMOBILE MARKET...
My opinion...

transport(uber/taxify) ISNT FOR EVERYONE ONLY PEOPLE WITH SOUND KNOWLEDGE OF AUTOMOBILE AND AUTOMOBILE REPAIRS WILL DO WELL IN THE BUSINESS...

Why are there so many bad reviews especially about Peugeot 407, with regards to reliability?
Petrol or diesel? U need to check the reviews again...
DONT BUY A RHD CONVERTED TO LHD...
DONT BUY DIESEL CONVERTED TO PETROL...
aside this no issue bro... I get my parts from France, Belgium and Germany... No issues I followed all the manufacturers recommendations... I don't abuse the cars... I service my cars with recommended engine oil

l have followed this thread for few months now and I am learning daily from everyone especially Ogunvic4 and Romeo3, I am discussing with my business partners in the West to see how l can invest in the business in Nigeria, from what I have read here, l think they are promoting the use of Peugeot 407 based on cheap maintenance, cheap parts, the ruggedness of the Peugeot and also some bit of luxury associated with the brand, Nigeria roads are terrible, I used an American Suv during my visit few years ago, l bought the vehicle myself in North America and shipped it to lagos with other cars, although it was a strong Suv but I know what I spent in changing the shock absorbers and several other wheel associated components due to bad roads, flood during raining season etc, I have not used Peugeot before but I think from what Ogunvic4 and Romero 3 are saying on here, it might be a good brand to use considering the terrible roads we have in Nigeria, l am already tilting towards using the Peugeot fleet once I am ready with my partners and I will meet Romeo 3 and his friend and see how l can do business with them, using a luxury car for Uber in Nigeria is not advisable because our roads are bad, I have seen Latest Suv and even a labroghini been used as a rental car in the Middle East when I visited several times during vacation but I am not surprised because they have fantastic roads unlike what we have in the jungle called Nigeria grin
God bless u sir, I have about 10 COROLLAS in the fleet, the Peugeots are strong and cheaper to maintain... Shocks can last for about 8 months or more...
BRAND NEW OEM 407 SHOCKS IS 20K
BRAND NEW OEM COROLLA SHOCKS IS 45K
the Peugeot shocks will do 8 to 10 months or more. Corolla will do less than 6 months
And lots more...
One of my drivers had an accident with a Peugeot 407 last week, I love this guy so much I told him to pick a corolla immediately while we repair the 407 he refused...
I have tested the two cars for about 8 months. The difference is clear...
Peugeot 406 and 407 won several awards in Europe
HAVE OWNED a Camry, a corolla, 406 and 407...
The difference is clear

claremont:
One striking thing I have observed on here is that Nigeria seems to be the only Uber market where certain people believe that only deadbeat ugly-looking peugeot cars can survive. I have visited Kenya and Uganda several times, and 90% of the cars used over there for uber are decent-looking Toyota corollas. It seems there is such an obsessive push on here for people to dump their decent cars in favour of decaying peugeots on the premise that ''they are the best for Nigerian roads''. I have heard someone 'advice' a car owner to sell his decent looking car in favour of an ugly scrap peugeot. I don't think this is right.

I'm not even comparing Nigeria with other western countries, we are comparing it with fellow African countries. Plus, just because someone has been driving on Uber for a while simply doesn't give that person any sense of entitlement over a newbie. Uber doesn't need any experience, you simply start the app and drive the number of hours you feel obliged to. At the end of the week, you are paid in line with whatever bonus offers are available. The location you need to be is already highlighted on the app itself by its 'boost' feature, there is no rocket science about it.

I have been a silent reader on this page for a while and have been carefully observing the antics of some people, but let me just stop here. I think we should give kudos to Uber for taking a lot of people out of unemployment, these are the same people speaking with a false sense of entitlement just because they have managed to taste a few pennies in Naira. Drivers should consider themselves lucky to be in Nigeria where car owners give them there cars without an initial deposit, in most other countries, you pay a fixed weekly fee UPFRONT to lease the car.
Dead Peugeot? Smile grin
POST UR TOYOTAS I WILL POST MY PEUGEOT...
ITS COMES WITH 6CD LOADERS, POWER WIPERS, TIRE SENSORS, REVERSE SENSORS AND OTHER BEAUTIFUL FEATURES, I DONT FORCE PEOPLE TO BUY I ONLY ADVICE...WE ALSO HAVE COROLLA IN THE FLEET...I CAN AFFORD COROLLAS, I HAVE OWNED A COROLLA AND I CAN SAY PEUGEOTS ARE BETTER...
U ARE JUST AN HATER...

Funny guy o. Naija road never kill the rest now . As a matter of fact. I plan to bring in the parts for all my elantras . I can buy the parts on ebay put it inside the trunk of the car. Disengage the trunk . At the end of the day. It depends how you take care of the car. I will agree that you know more about cars than me. But when it is said and done. O boy na elantra all the way for me. The only issue is the parts are not original in naija or expensive to get . And most parts that come into naija are parts that have been rejected in Yankee or better yet. Parts that will no longer be useful. So imagine buying shocks tokunbo or bushing. Do knw how many miles those things have reach . And people will now say o the suspension is not good those cars are not strong . The shocks of those kia cars can't last Naija road. The bottom line is u can have the strongest cars on the road. Give it to a crazy drivers. He will destroy that car in two weeks. Did you see the condition of the blue elantra that was impounded by lasma. This is after two weeks of him driving it . The car was not like these now when it was release now
No need to argue bro, I know ur elantras even their number plates cheesy
Do forget I drove ur elantra,
NEVER COMPARE ELANTRA WITH PEUGEOT. PEUGEOT ENGINE IS 90K, A/C COMPRESSOR 12K TO 15K AND OTHERS. I REST MY CASE

Today is Saturday...one of the best days to make money on uber/taxify. Lagos residents do a lot of long trips, visiting and clubbing, its not a work day, its usually traffic free, I have done 25k and more several times on Saturdays...
Drivers on NL what are u waiting for start early(7am)...
Target long trips (ajah to ikeja, lekki to ikeja, ikeja to ajah etc)...
You can do 20k to 25k...

I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER give a driver a car without a minimum collateral of 1week, if he likes bring your property as collateral, I will make you sign an agreement that ensures if you default the property will be liquidated to reslove your issue.

WE pay insurance for cars upfront, service cars upfront, collect loans to even buy the car upfront. Minimum a driver can do is show some good faith and pay upfront, at least from the numbers available hardworking drivers make more money than partners.
