Are you aware that some of the world’s political leaders, global business leaders, and even religious leaders are not comfortable with the second coming of the 47th President of the United States of America- Donald Trump?

This is understandable. After all, it’s been said that heaven has favourites.

Immediately Donald Trump came back to the White House on 20 January 25, he hit the ground running by starting to deliver his campaign promises.

During his inauguration, he boldly re-affirmed his “Make America Great Again (MAGA)” agenda with sweeping statements on how he intends to use Tax and Tariff on foreign countries and foreign businesses to better the lot of Americans.

Here’s the highlight of his thundering that sends fears running through the spines of people around the globe:

▪︎Trump, who confidently said: ” I was saved by God to make America great again, declared: Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense. It’s all about common sense.

▪︎First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came. We will reinstate my Remain in Mexico policy.

I will end the practice of catch and release. And I will send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of our country.

▪︎ Under the orders I signed today, we will also be designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. And by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full and immense power of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal networks bringing devastating crime to U.S. soil, including our cities and inner cities.

▪︎As commander in chief, I have no higher responsibility than to defend our country from threats and invasions, and that is exactly what I am going to do. We will do it at a level that nobody has ever seen before.

▪︎Next, I will direct all members of my cabinet to marshal the vast powers at their disposal to defeat what was record inflation and rapidly bring down costs and prices.

The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices, and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill.

▪︎America will be a manufacturing nation once again, and we have something that no other manufacturing nation will ever have — the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on earth — and we are going to use it.

We’ll use it. We will bring prices down, fill our strategic reserves up again right to the top, and export American energy all over the world. We will be a rich nation again, and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it.

▪︎With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal, and we will revoke the electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto industry and keeping my sacred pledge to our great American autoworkers.

In other words, you’ll be able to buy the car of your choice. We will build automobiles in America again at a rate that nobody could have dreamt possible just a few years ago. And thank you to the autoworkers of our nation for your inspiring vote of confidence. We did tremendously with their vote. ▪︎I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens. For this purpose, we are establishing the External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues.

It will be massive amounts of money pouring into our Treasury, coming from foreign sources.

The American dream will soon be back and thriving like never before.

▪︎To restore competence and effectiveness to our federal government, my administration will establish the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency.

After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I also will sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America. Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents — something I know something about. We will not allow that to happen. It will not happen again...

The Lagos State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the pedestrian bridge connecting Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3, citing safety concerns.

The government raised alarms over the bridge’s safety and structural integrity.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, issued the order in a statement released on Friday, expressing concerns about the bridge’s condition.

“The order also mandated the contractor responsible for the initial construction of the terminal, through the Office of Infrastructure, to place concrete barriers at the entrances leading to the bridge.

This is to safeguard the lives of pedestrians who use the infrastructure,” he said.

The commissioner explained that the closure would enable a comprehensive structural integrity assessment of the bridge, to determine whether it requires repairs or reconstruction.

Hundreds of transgender United States federal prisoners have been gripped by fear following an executive order signed by President Donald Trump on his first day in office, mandating the transfer of transgender inmates to facilities aligned with their biological sex.

Lawyers have raised alarms about the potential dangers faced by transgender women who will now be moved to male prisons, warning of severe risks.

“It’s going to be incredibly dangerous,” attorney Moira Meltzer-Cohen told DailyMail.com. Meltzer-Cohen, who represents Donna Langan—a transgender woman serving a life sentence for bank robbery—expressed concerns about the safety of her client and others, fearing a potential “bloodbath.

”The executive order stipulates that the federal government will only recognise two sexes—male and female.

Therefore, access to intimate spaces such as prisons and shelters will now be determined strictly by biological sex rather than gender identity.

According to DailyMail.com, a federal public defender in Massachusetts highlighted the plight of a transgender inmate in Minnesota.

Sandra Gant, the defender, described how the inmate was abruptly informed of the transfer, leaving her “terrified.”

“Her family reached out in a panic,” Gant said in a message circulated among public defenders.

“As of this morning, she, along with others at FCI Waseca, have been segregated and told they are being processed out to a transfer centre and then to a men’s prison.”

Gant called for insights or assistance, particularly from organisations like the ACLU, to challenge the policy.

In addition to the changes in prison policy, Trump’s order rolled back various protections for transgender individuals.

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno has approved the payment of the new minimum wage of 80,000 Naira to 45,000 verified public service workers, effective November 2024.

This decision comes after the submission of the report by the Committee on the Implementation of the New Minimum Wage/Personnel Verification

Russian President, congratulated Trump in a televised statement, expressing readiness to dialogue with the new US administration on the Ukrainian conflict.

World leaders in various countries have congratulated Donald Trump following his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States of America.

Trump who took the oath of office at a historic ceremony at the Capitol on Monday, have been receiving heart-warming cheers.

To celebrate the U.S. president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president, took to his X (formerly Twitter) account, describing Trump’s swearing-in as “a day of hope for the resolution of many problems, including global challenges.”

The Ukrainian president expressed confidence that Trump’s policies would boost America’s leadership. “President Trump is always decisive, and the peace through the strength of policy he announced provides an opportunity to strengthen American leadership and achieve a long-term and just peace, which is the top priority,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Canadian Prime Minister in a post on his website, also sent his congratulatory messages to America’s president as he resumed office for a non-consecutive second time.

The prime minister said he was happy for yet another opportunity to work with President Trump, adding that both countries are the largest trade partners, “with a relationship that creates millions of jobs, attracts billions in investment into the continent, and keeps our people safe.”

He noted that Canada is strengthening the mutually beneficial relationship it has with the US, bolstering cross-border trade through investment.

“We are strongest when we work together, and I look forward to working with President Trump, his administration, members of the United States Congress, and officials at the state and local levels to deliver prosperity for our people – while protecting and defending the interests of Canadians,” he said. “Canada and the US have the world’s most successful economic partnership. On his part, Narendra Modi, the Indian Prime Minister, congratulated Trump in a statement on X. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

Israel’s Prime Minister, in a video, mentioned some of President Trump’s achievements during his his term, saying that “the best days of our alliance are yet to come.”

“You withdrew from the dangerous Iran nuclear deal, you recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, you moved the American embassy to Jerusalem, and you recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” Netanyahu added.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni

Italy’s Prime Minister shared a statement on X in Italian, which in English, reads as follows: “Best wishes to the President @realDonaldTrump for the beginning of his new mandate at the helm of the United States of America.”

An incoming White House official announced that the incoming US president, Donald Trump, would order the US government to recognise only two biological sexes.

This ccomes ahead of the presidential inauguration on Monday.

According to the official, it is the policy of the United States to recognise two sexes: male and female.

The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has expressed concerns that the current economic reforms implemented by the Federal Government are not fostering growth within the private sector.

Instead, these reforms appear to be disproportionately benefiting the public sector.

The public sector encompasses the segments of the economy that are owned, controlled, and managed by the government, including various agencies and institutions responsible for delivering essential goods and services such as transportation, infrastructure, and public works.

Dele Kelvin Oye, President of NACCIMA, made these observations during an appearance on AriseTV News, stating, “In 2024, data, metrics, and statistics indicate that the private sector is shouldering the negative impacts of the nation’s economic reforms, enduring challenging conditions such as high inflation, increased borrowing costs, and currency devaluation.”

Oye emphasized the need for the government and its economic advisory teams to acknowledge the private sector as a vital stakeholder in the economy.

“While the public sector continues to thrive and expand, the economic benefits derived from recent reforms have largely been absorbed by the public sector through significant capital transfers and revenue increases.

In contrast, the private sector is grappling with escalating inflation, higher borrowing costs, unresolved foreign currency commitments amounting to 2.4 billion USD from the CBN, and rising operational expenses across all sectors.”

Wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu has been kidnapped from her residence in the Arepo area of Ogun State.

Sources revealed that the kidnappers stormed the residence in a coordinated attack, leaving the community in shock and fear.

In another development, police operatives attached to the Delta State Command acted upon credible intelligence raided an apartment in DSC belonging to a notorious Eiye confraternity member named Prosper Akeni aged 32 years, a hit man for the cult group.

The following items were recovered; 1 English revolver pistol, 1 berretta pistol, 2 locally made double barrel gun, 2 locally made single barrel gun, 1 locally made revolver pistol, 1 locally made single barrel pistol and 25 rounds of ammunition.

The suspect confessed that the guns recovered belonged to his cult group and he was in custody of them as the number one man in the group.

Equally, the Police on December 31, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM, arrested Yunusa Haruna, a 25-year-old male from Bakin Turu Village in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, who fatally stabbed his elder brother, Isiyaku Haruna, with a sharp knife in the chest.

In response to the ugly incident, a team of police officers from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Shanga promptly raced to the scene and arrested the suspect.

He said: “The telecommunications sector contributes over 16 percent to our GDP, employs thousands of Nigerians, and is essential to the nation’s digital economy.

The federal government has proposed a 30-60% increase in telecom tariffs to sustain the critical telecommunications sector while ensuring affordability for Nigerians.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, who disclosed this in a public statement, said that the recommendations from independent consultants, including KPMG, had been received.

He rejected the demands by operators for a 100 per cent hike.Dr. Tijani explained that the government was considering a more moderate increase to strike a balance between affordability for consumers and the sustainability and continued growth of the sector.

He said: “The telecommunications sector contributes over 16 percent to our GDP, employs thousands of Nigerians, and is essential to the nation’s digital economy.

However, it is crucial to ensure that services remain accessible to consumers while maintaining the sector’s viability.

He said that the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, was overseeing the process, with recommendations based on data-driven analysis.

Onanuga represented the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North constituency in the House of Representatives.

Daniel, expressing shock over her demise, described Onanuga as a close confidant, trusted younger sister, and a highly resourceful and responsive politician.

Onanuga, aged 59, and the Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, reportedly passed away in a UK hospital on Wednesday after being ill for over two months.

In a condolence message on Thursday, Daniel stated that the late lawmaker was not just a remarkable politician but also a beacon of hope and inspiration for women aspiring to participate in politics.

Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) agreed at the end of subnational meeting today in Abuja that there should be “No hike in VAT, and No reduction in corporate Income tax CIT) for now. This is to maintain economic stability.

This is disclosed in a communique issued today and signed by Abdulrahman Adbdulrazaq, Chairman of the NGF & Governor of Kwara State.

The governors, at the end of a meeting of subnational consultations and engagement, on Thursday in Abuja, with the Chairman of Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, said that the Forum have also endorsed a revised VAT sharing formula to ensure equitable distribution of resources of 50% based on equality, 30% based on derivation, and 20% based on population.

The governors have resolved that there should be no increase in the VAT rate or reduction in Corporate Income Tax (CIT) at this time in order to maintain economic stability.

Also, they have called for the continued exemption of essential goods and agricultural produce from VAT as that would help safeguard the welfare of citizens and promote agricultural productivity.

They also, at the end of the meeting, recommended that there should be no terminal clause forTertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND; National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, and National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, in the sharing of development levies in the bills.

President Carter had a military background which I had and we met when I was a military Head of State.

The Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo says there are some similarities he shared with the late Jimmy Carter, a former American President.

Obasanjo listed the similarities at a funeral service he organized yesterday in memory of Carter at the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King in Abeokuta.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Obasanjo, his family members, friends, and associates attended the funeral service.

Obasanjo explained that the service was in memory of Carter’s life and times and his selfless service to humanity through his ‘Carter Centre’.

In his tribute, titled ‘Jimmy Carter: The Departure Of A Titan’, Obasanjo said he shared a lot in common with the late American President.

“In terms of early life background, I shared similarities with President Jimmy Carter.

“He was born into a farming family in Plains, Georgia, and I was born into a farming family in the rural village of Ibogun-Olaogun in Ogun.

“He grew up under parents who were disciplinarians, who instilled in him the essence of discipline, morality, hard work, integrity, kindness and humility, compassion for the poor, and strong belief in God.

My parents inculcated similar attributes in me as I was growing up in a rural area that had no piped water and no electricity, just as it was in Plains, Georgia, while Carter was growing up there.

He beat me, though, in one respect, there was a road to his settlement, there was no road to my village. We walked to every place or, at best, we were carried on bicycles.

President Carter had a military background which I had and we met when I was a military Head of State. But if not that we were both in politics, our paths may not have crossed,” he said.

Obasanjo said he would miss Carter, “a great and true friend but I know we shall meet again in paradise.”

The former Nigerian leader explained that he held a service in memory of Carter, who lived and died almost 5,000 miles away because the late American President was a great world leader.

The Nigeria Immigration Service on Sunday, confirmed Friday’s attack by a suspected
terrorist group on border facilities and contractors on site, at the Kangiwa Border in Kangiwa Local Government Area of Kebbi State, which left four dead.

DCI KT Udo, Service PRO Nigeria Immigration, confirmed the development in a statement signed electronically .

It reads: ” The Service regrets that the attack led to the death of four persons; a local watchman and three contractors.


No Immigration officer was killed during the attack.

However, the Service recorded substantial damages on it’s Border facilities.

Our heartfelt condolences goes out to the families of the deceased.

The Service is actively working alongside other sister security agencies to identify and apprehend those responsible for these heinous acts and bring them to justice.

Mozambique opposition leader Venancio Mondlane returned from self-exile on Thursday, defiantly claiming to have won a hotly contested October election, but security forces later used tear gas to disperse supporters who had gathered to greet him.

The disputed Oct. 9 poll, which Mondlane says was rigged, has sparked demonstrations over the past few months in which hundreds of protesters have been killed in the southern African nation of 35 million.

“My return does not result from any political agreement. My return is a unilateral decision to be in Mozambique,” he told reporters at Maputo airport upon his return.

“I’m here to prove that I didn’t leave Mozambique out of fear,” he said, ending a period of exile that began a few days after the vote, when Mondlane had said his life was in danger.

Mondlane’s return could further exacerbate protests which have continued sporadically since the electoral commission declared victory in mid-October for the candidate of the ruling Frelimo party, extending its half-century in power.
