Are you aware that some of the world’s political leaders, global business leaders, and even religious leaders are not comfortable with the second coming of the 47th President of the United States of America- Donald Trump?

This is understandable. After all, it’s been said that heaven has favourites.

Immediately Donald Trump came back to the White House on 20 January 25, he hit the ground running by starting to deliver his campaign promises.

During his inauguration, he boldly re-affirmed his “Make America Great Again (MAGA)” agenda with sweeping statements on how he intends to use Tax and Tariff on foreign countries and foreign businesses to better the lot of Americans.

Here’s the highlight of his thundering that sends fears running through the spines of people around the globe:

▪︎Trump, who confidently said: ” I was saved by God to make America great again, declared: Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders. With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense. It’s all about common sense.

▪︎First, I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. All illegal entry will immediately be halted, and we will begin the process of returning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came. We will reinstate my Remain in Mexico policy.

I will end the practice of catch and release. And I will send troops to the southern border to repel the disastrous invasion of our country.

▪︎ Under the orders I signed today, we will also be designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. And by invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, I will direct our government to use the full and immense power of federal and state law enforcement to eliminate the presence of all foreign gangs and criminal networks bringing devastating crime to U.S. soil, including our cities and inner cities.

▪︎As commander in chief, I have no higher responsibility than to defend our country from threats and invasions, and that is exactly what I am going to do. We will do it at a level that nobody has ever seen before.

▪︎Next, I will direct all members of my cabinet to marshal the vast powers at their disposal to defeat what was record inflation and rapidly bring down costs and prices.

The inflation crisis was caused by massive overspending and escalating energy prices, and that is why today I will also declare a national energy emergency. We will drill, baby, drill.

▪︎America will be a manufacturing nation once again, and we have something that no other manufacturing nation will ever have — the largest amount of oil and gas of any country on earth — and we are going to use it.

We’ll use it. We will bring prices down, fill our strategic reserves up again right to the top, and export American energy all over the world. We will be a rich nation again, and it is that liquid gold under our feet that will help to do it.

▪︎With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal, and we will revoke the electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto industry and keeping my sacred pledge to our great American autoworkers.

In other words, you’ll be able to buy the car of your choice. We will build automobiles in America again at a rate that nobody could have dreamt possible just a few years ago. And thank you to the autoworkers of our nation for your inspiring vote of confidence. We did tremendously with their vote. ▪︎I will immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families. Instead of taxing our citizens to enrich other countries, we will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens. For this purpose, we are establishing the External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues.

It will be massive amounts of money pouring into our Treasury, coming from foreign sources.

The American dream will soon be back and thriving like never before.

▪︎To restore competence and effectiveness to our federal government, my administration will establish the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency.

After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I also will sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America. Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents — something I know something about. We will not allow that to happen. It will not happen again...

The Lagos State Government has ordered the immediate closure of the pedestrian bridge connecting Oshodi Bus Terminals 2 and 3, citing safety concerns.

The government raised alarms over the bridge’s safety and structural integrity.

The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, issued the order in a statement released on Friday, expressing concerns about the bridge’s condition.

“The order also mandated the contractor responsible for the initial construction of the terminal, through the Office of Infrastructure, to place concrete barriers at the entrances leading to the bridge.

This is to safeguard the lives of pedestrians who use the infrastructure,” he said.

The commissioner explained that the closure would enable a comprehensive structural integrity assessment of the bridge, to determine whether it requires repairs or reconstruction.

Lawyers have raised alarms about the potential dangers faced by transgender women who will now be moved to male prisons, warning of severe risks.

“It’s going to be incredibly dangerous,” attorney Moira Meltzer-Cohen told DailyMail.com. Meltzer-Cohen, who represents Donna Langan—a transgender woman serving a life sentence for bank robbery—expressed concerns about the safety of her client and others, fearing a potential “bloodbath.

”The executive order stipulates that the federal government will only recognise two sexes—male and female.

Therefore, access to intimate spaces such as prisons and shelters will now be determined strictly by biological sex rather than gender identity.

According to DailyMail.com, a federal public defender in Massachusetts highlighted the plight of a transgender inmate in Minnesota.

Sandra Gant, the defender, described how the inmate was abruptly informed of the transfer, leaving her “terrified.”

“Her family reached out in a panic,” Gant said in a message circulated among public defenders.

“As of this morning, she, along with others at FCI Waseca, have been segregated and told they are being processed out to a transfer centre and then to a men’s prison.”

Gant called for insights or assistance, particularly from organisations like the ACLU, to challenge the policy.

In addition to the changes in prison policy, Trump’s order rolled back various protections for transgender individuals.

The Nigeria Police Force successfully raided an illegal weapons manufacturing factory on the 11th of January, 2025 at Tse Akamabe Area of Kwande LGA, Benue State, the house of a cultist in Delta, and the arrest of two suspect for murders in Kebbi State. In a statement with the Ref No. CZ.5300/FPRD/FHQ/ABJ/VOL.6/337, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force PRO, Force Headquarters Abuja, said : “The Police carried out a well-coordinated operation that led to the discovery of an illegal weapons manufacturing factory at Tse Akamabe Area of Kwande LGA, Benue State and arrested two suspects namely Friday Aduduakambe ‘m’ and Iorwashima Iornyume ‘m’ aka “AK” aged 35 years. Upon a coordinated search of the factory, the following items were recovered; 9 locally fabricated pistols, 1 locally fabricated Ak47 riffle (unfinished), 2 gas cylinders, 4 vise machines, 1 filing machine and numerous other weapons manufacturing tools.

In another development, police operatives attached to the Delta State Command acted upon credible intelligence raided an apartment in DSC belonging to a notorious Eiye confraternity member named Prosper Akeni aged 32 years, a hit man for the cult group.

The following items were recovered; 1 English revolver pistol, 1 berretta pistol, 2 locally made double barrel gun, 2 locally made single barrel gun, 1 locally made revolver pistol, 1 locally made single barrel pistol and 25 rounds of ammunition.

The suspect confessed that the guns recovered belonged to his cult group and he was in custody of them as the number one man in the group.

Equally, the Police on December 31, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM, arrested Yunusa Haruna, a 25-year-old male from Bakin Turu Village in Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, who fatally stabbed his elder brother, Isiyaku Haruna, with a sharp knife in the chest.

In response to the ugly incident, a team of police officers from the Divisional Police Headquarters in Shanga promptly raced to the scene and arrested the suspect.

Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) agreed at the end of subnational meeting today in Abuja that there should be “No hike in VAT, and No reduction in corporate Income tax CIT) for now. This is to maintain economic stability.

This is disclosed in a communique issued today and signed by Abdulrahman Adbdulrazaq, Chairman of the NGF & Governor of Kwara State.

The governors, at the end of a meeting of subnational consultations and engagement, on Thursday in Abuja, with the Chairman of Presidential Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms Committee, Taiwo Oyedele, said that the Forum have also endorsed a revised VAT sharing formula to ensure equitable distribution of resources of 50% based on equality, 30% based on derivation, and 20% based on population.

The governors have resolved that there should be no increase in the VAT rate or reduction in Corporate Income Tax (CIT) at this time in order to maintain economic stability.

Also, they have called for the continued exemption of essential goods and agricultural produce from VAT as that would help safeguard the welfare of citizens and promote agricultural productivity.

They also, at the end of the meeting, recommended that there should be no terminal clause forTertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND; National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, and National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, in the sharing of development levies in the bills.

The Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo says there are some similarities he shared with the late Jimmy Carter, a former American President.

Obasanjo listed the similarities at a funeral service he organized yesterday in memory of Carter at the Chapel of Christ the Glorious King in Abeokuta.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Obasanjo, his family members, friends, and associates attended the funeral service.

Obasanjo explained that the service was in memory of Carter’s life and times and his selfless service to humanity through his ‘Carter Centre’.

In his tribute, titled ‘Jimmy Carter: The Departure Of A Titan’, Obasanjo said he shared a lot in common with the late American President.

“In terms of early life background, I shared similarities with President Jimmy Carter.

“He was born into a farming family in Plains, Georgia, and I was born into a farming family in the rural village of Ibogun-Olaogun in Ogun.

“He grew up under parents who were disciplinarians, who instilled in him the essence of discipline, morality, hard work, integrity, kindness and humility, compassion for the poor, and strong belief in God.

My parents inculcated similar attributes in me as I was growing up in a rural area that had no piped water and no electricity, just as it was in Plains, Georgia, while Carter was growing up there.

He beat me, though, in one respect, there was a road to his settlement, there was no road to my village. We walked to every place or, at best, we were carried on bicycles.

President Carter had a military background which I had and we met when I was a military Head of State. But if not that we were both in politics, our paths may not have crossed,” he said.

Obasanjo said he would miss Carter, “a great and true friend but I know we shall meet again in paradise.”

The former Nigerian leader explained that he held a service in memory of Carter, who lived and died almost 5,000 miles away because the late American President was a great world leader.

An order is granted, restraining the Respond either by itself or acting through its servants, agents assigns, privies affiliates howsoever described, including any person claiming under its authority from making any calls or demands or taking any steps whatsoever to enforce any security receivables, instrument, finance documents or assets of the Applicant which have been charged as security for the facility agreements in respect of the Applicant’s operation of OML 120.

GHL had dragged FBN Holdings to court as the holding company was seeking to frustrate and take over the oil and gas company’s bona fide assets after signing the memorandum of understanding (MOU).

More importantly, FBN is putting at risk the repayment of the outstanding exposure to AMCON and the repayment of its new facilities under the MOU and seeking to create Atlantic Energy 2 by trying to orchestrate another non-performing loan situation.

“GHL will resist this with all the powers of the law and will not allow any non-performing loan in its name as we remain committed to meeting all our obligations.

He expressed excitement over his role in drafting the words and recording their pronunciations.

Ugwuanyi wrote: “I’m thrilled to announce that the Oxford English Dictionary (OED) Oxford Languages | OUP has officially published its latest updates, featuring an amazing collection of Nigerian English words that beautifully reflect Nigeria’s culture, creativity, and the unique ways we express ourselves as Nigerians.

“Agbero” is described as “a person (usually a boy or young man) who works as a tout, typically at car parks and bus stops, collecting money from passengers and drivers, and ushering passengers onto vehicles.

” The term “419,” widely known in Nigeria, is defined as, “Fraud (now usually perpetrated on the internet) involving requests for advance payment in return for a substantial share of a large amount of money, which ultimately is never given.
