PoliticsHow Pdp Wants To Rig 2019 Elections. by oikyuravya(op): 4:37am On Dec 10, 2018
Pres. Buhari came to governance through the popular will of the people of Nigeria who used the Card Reader to put a stop to his years of winning Presidential elections and never announced winner. He loves the Card reader. We love the Card Reader.

What they did was to cleverly replace “COUNT & ANNOUNCE”, with only “ANNOUNCE” in the new electoral bill amendment which portends grave danger for the progress our electoral process made in 2015.

It means COUNTING of our votes will no longer be necessary in 2019. Electoral umpires could announce any figure to favour whoever pays them well. They also want political parties to have the ability to merge 21 days to the election instead of the Current 90 days. It’s a recipe for disaster.

The President expresses particular delight at the discipline and commitment exhibited by the country’s senior women football team despite the stiff resistance of their South African counterparts.

Noting that the Super Falcons had earlier qualified to represent Nigeria at the FIFA Women World Cup tournament in France next year, President Buhari describes winning the AWCON for the third consecutive time and ninth overall, as the “icing on the cake.”

Saluting the country’s female football ambassadors for doing their fatherland proud and showing clear dominance on the African continent, he urges them to approach the France 2019 competition with clear focus and determination to excel on the global stage.

President Buhari also commends the team’s coaching crew, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Supporters Club and all football-loving citizens for adequately preparing and supporting the players, enjoining all stakeholders not to relent in rallying round the country’s football representatives going forward.

“I have never doubted the capacity of Nigerians to excel when given the right support,” he notes, while promising the Federal Government’s commitment to sports development as a unifying force.

Buhari Approves Enhanced Salary Structure For Police
President Muhammadu Buhari with members of the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force at the State House on November 26, 2018.

President Muhammadu Buhari Monday assured the Nigeria Police Force that his administration will continue to give attention to its welfare and operational needs with a view to restoring its lost primacy in the internal security framework of the country.

He gave the assurance following his approval of rank salary structure adjustment, by which salary, allowances and pension of policemen would be increased.

The President spoke on Monday during an audience with members of the Police Service Commission and the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force, who were on a visit to State House in Abuja.

He regretted that the inability of the police in their constitutional role as the frontline force in the prevention of crime had led to military involvement in the maintenance of law and order throughout the country.

“From Taraba to Sokoto, to the South-South, people don’t feel secure until they see the military,” President Buhari was quoted as saying in a statement by his spokesman, Mr Garba Shehu.

“I am pleased to make the increase in salary and allowances in the hope that it will increase the performance index of the police and strengthen Nigeria’s internal security system.”

The President Buhari noted that the more efficient the police is, the more confident the government and citizens will be.

He added, “The military should be reserved for higher tasks. The police should be able to cope well with the challenges of armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom and such crimes.

“In every town and village, there is the presence of the police. From all these places, they should be able to forward first-class intelligence to you on which to act.”

“There is a need to amplify the question of more men of the police, especially given the condition we are in – emergency in the North East, pervasive insecurity and abduction for ransom and banditry in many parts of the country,” President Buhari said.

He further congratulated the police on the success they recorded against “criminals taxing people and stopping them from their farms”.

The President, however, said the government expected more from them.

Earlier, a full-time Commissioner in the PSC, Justice Clara Ogunbiyi (rtd), who represented the chairman, Musiliu Smith, had informed the President that the rank salary structure adjustment would enhance police welfare and morale.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr Ibrahim Idris, also assured President Buhari that the police would redouble efforts to ensure free, fair and credible elections throughout the country in 2019.

APC Condemns Invasion of Akwa-Ibom House of Assembly

The All Progressive Congress APC has condemns attempts by pdp hoodlums to disrupt the sitting of members of the Akwa-Ibom state House of Assembly.

The party also condemns the role allegedly played by the police in the state, in reportedly aiding the invasion of the House of Assembly complex by the hoodlum, resulting in near breakdown of order in the state legislature.

The armed thugs, who accompanied a former member of the House of Assembly, Idongesit Ituen, attempted to disrupt proceedings in a bid to stop the House from reading an order of a Federal High Court, which had last week declared his seat vacant following his decampment from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The court had in a declarative judgment ordered the House of Assembly not to recognize Hon Ituen as a member of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly.

Strangely, last week, the new Police commissioner posted to the state, Mr. J.B Abang, without any reasons, reportedly ordered the immediate withdrawal of police officers attached to house members an action, which paved the way for the hoodlums to invade the complex and attempted to disrupt proceedings.

Curiously, the hoodlums who attempted to break into the chambers had the backing of policemen, while the members were unprotected, a development which pointed to high-level official conspiracy against the state legislature.

Though the House of Assembly stood in defence of the law and declared Ituen’s seat as well as those of four others who had decamped from the PDP vacant, in line with the judgment of the court, the PDP completely condemns the action of the police in aiding an invasion of a legislative house.

While stating that our lawmakers will not be deterred by any form of intimidation and resort to violence by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and compromised security officials, particularly the police, the PDP urges Nigerians to hold the Police and the APC responsible should any harm come upon the leadership or any member of the Akwa-Ibom state House of Assembly.
