111-year-old Grace Jones due to the fact that she's a century and 11 years old has been dubbed 'Amazing Grace' by her friends. Grace health status can simply put as exceptional. Quaffing a healthy slug of Scotch whisky every night before bed is what Grace said is the secret to her longevity. “She’s been doing it for 58 years,” says her 79-year-old daughter, Deidre McCarthy. "She swears by it." Grace Jones celebrated her birthday this weekend with back-to-back parties. “She had a wonderful party on Saturday, followed by a lovely party on Sunday,” her daughter said in a phone interview from her home in Britain. McCarthy called her mother Monday to see how she was doing, expecting to hear the birthday girl was a little tired. When I said, 'How are you, mother?’ she said, More at: http://www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/09/111-old-grace-jones-attributes-longevity-whiskey.html?m=1#

It wasn't just wind and rain that caused damage when Hurricane Harvey blasted through the Texas coast. Fires did their share too. A family in Robstown, just west of Corpus Christi, lost their homes to a fire just as Harvey was hitting the area. The Rojas family had evacuated their three houses on property they own. They returned to a distressing sight: all three houses destroyed by fire. But they also found something in the ashes that they say gave them hope -- an intact statue of the Virgin Mary. "Some may blame God and some may blame the hurricane but the only thing standing were holy things," Natali Rojas told CNN affiliate KRIS. "As you can see this statue is the only thing that survived. I dug in there for things and all I found is a Virgin Mary." The family said the Robstown Fire Department battled the flames even as the hurricane raged. "I wanna thank the Fire Department of Robstown for courage to show up in the storm while the tremendous power, the wind, the rain were going and they were still out here trying their best. It was incredible," said Jesus Rojas, Natali Rojas' father. The family is taking the statue's survival as a sign that they can make it, too. "Appreciate what you have, listen to the warnings, hug your children and thank God for today and yesterday, and pray for a better tomorrow," Natali Rojas said. There were days —which have gone now when you really have to suffer a lot before you can setup a personal blog and manage it. Nowadays, many blog hosting companies have surfaced; WordPress, Blogger, Weebly, Squarespace, Tumblr. Some of them secure, supportive and above all free of which you can just signup, do a little design and start posting with your phone at the convenience of your parlor. At the end of this post, if you're a blogger and enthusiastic, just leave a comment related to this post with a link to your blog. I will review and publish a post on the top 20 enthusiastic bloggers in Nigeria in a countdown list in one week. Top 5 Arrogant Bloggers In Nigeria is what I want to talk about today. Celebrity bloggers in Nigeria are arrogant because they have to be. They don’t know you personally, and they probably never will. To them, you are a statistic, a single digit in the scores of people that make up their fan base. They actually don't give a sh*t about you. A newbie could end up writing an interesting post, well garnished with vocabularies and all and end up being denied a guest post by these bloggers. What crime did the newbies commit? It's probably not their doing that they want to make money or any other thing from blogging, it's just NATURE, everyone loves the paper! A little bit of advice to you my reader before I continue. If you are a blogger, you probably started blogging because of one of these: To help people, become popular, as a hobby, because of the money (adsense et al) which ever one it is, things that will make you become a successful blogger in Nigeria is basically MONEY before your idea, passion, influence and a little bit of luck comes into play. Any other thing apart from the above, just forget it. Without wasting much of your time, let me proceed to mention a list of them arrogant bloggers in Nigeria, just 10 of them who have an A1 grade in arrogance. It is nice, everyone sings their praises but no one remembers the enthusiastic ones. It's all about the influential bloggers here and there. A summary of the list is that they are the popular blogs in Nigeria, mostly entertainment, fashion and gossip blogs. Top 5 Arrogant Bloggers In Nigeria 5. Uche Pedro A very cool blogger. Everyone hates spam comments. She doesn't publish your spam comments on her blog. I wonder how she does that! Newbies are only tryna' get traffic; that's all! Uche blogs at BellaNaija.com. 4. Jide Ogunsayan Jide is my Facebook friend, he has not replied my series or let me say episodes of complaint message since we became friends on Facebook. He blogs at Ogbongeblog.com a very helpful blog for newbie bloggers but this guy is arrogant. He could reply your comment on his post though. 3. Linda Ikeji Probably the richest blogger but not the most arrogant. Linda Ikeji in one of her #selfmade tours to secondary schools, at Yinkyem International Schools conked a little girl that mistakenly stepped on her green and black dress while trying to talk to her. What do you call that? Maybe what she learnt while being a model. Linda Ikeji pays you for a tipoff but you pay her for a guest post. No one competes with Linda, she blogs at lindaikejisblog.com and is the richest single lady online. More at: www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/08/top-5-arrogant-bloggers-in-nigeria.html

You wouldn't like offending Her Majesty, right? Queen Elizabeth has met millions of people in her lifetime. But one must remember when meeting Queen Elizabeth the important things you shouldn't do in order to avoid looking rude or offending her. YOU SHOULDN'T TOUCH Protocol says anyone meeting Queen Elizabeth for the first time should wait for her to extend her hand first. And even afterwards, contact should be kept to a minimum. That means hugs and kisses are a major no no. YOU SHOULDN'T BE SITTING As soon as the Queen enters the room, everyone must stand to greet her and should not sit down until she does. Only then is it polite to take a rest. YOU SHOULDN'T JUST STAND THERE If you're a citizen of the United States, you can simply shake hands, but in Great Britain, men and women must bow or curtsy. When Angelina Jolie, who is a US citizen met the Queen, you see she did a little of all three, because it's better to be safe than sorry! YOU SHOULDN'T SHOW UP CASUAL A.k.a. dress to impress. If there's a dress code, follow it. And never, under any circumstances, show up in flip-flops, torn jeans or a super revealing outfit. YOU SHOULDN'T SHOW UP WITHOUT A GIFT Bringing a gift is a must, but it should always be appropriate for the occasion. For instance, if the Queen visits your hometown, it's common to give her something that is from there and indicative of your culture. Queen Elizabeth YOU SHOULDN'T USE NICKNAMES Even though you might feel like you've known the Queen your whole life, remember: she doesn't know you. When you first meet her, address her as "Your Majesty." Use "Ma'am" the rest of the time, except when you say farewell, which should be "Your Majesty" once again. YOU SHOULDN'T SPEAK UNLESS SPOKEN TO When around the Queen, you should follow the same rule some people use for kids, which is "little children should be seen and not heard." This allows for the Queen to carry the conversation - or put it to a stop, if she so desires. A list of the most visited websites in Nigeria, 2017 and Bet9ja's position is quite appalling. No wonder that 'Bet' in the logo is red in color... it's really eating us! Plus I wonder whom to blame for this; Nigeria's current economic disability, our jobless youths or maybe the advancement of technology. Time spent on Bet9ja per visit is 19:56 minutes is that not 4 seconds away from 20:00 minutes? surpassing Google.com, Google.com.ng, YouTube.com and every other site in the 1st to 50th list, where are we heading?! Daily page views of a whooping 5.79% beating YouTube with over 12,500 sites linking in. See it from Source: http://www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/08/most-visited-websites-nigeria-2017.html

20-year-old Michael Ward has lost his license after towing his wheelchair- bound friend William MacPherson along behind his car. Michael Ward was caught on CCTV driving along with MacPherson clinging to the back of his vehicle in the dangerous stunt. TC Rob Roberts of Harrogate’s Road Policing team said: ‘Ward and Macpherson acted selfishly that night. ‘They paid no regard to the safety of other road users or pedestrians and chose to act in a dangerous manner. ‘I hope the sentence that has been handed to them teaches a lesson to both them, and others, that reckless behaviour will not be tolerated on our roads.’ Ward admitted dangerous driving at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court and was disqualified from driving for 20 months, ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid work, fined £85 CPS costs and an £85 victim’s surcharge. MacPherson pleaded guilty to the rare charge of holding on to a vehicle for the purpose of being drawn. He received a £154 fine and was ordered to pay £30 CPS costs and a £30 victim’s surcharge. The fatherly moment when an Indiana State police officer got on ground to comfort a 4-year-old boy at school has captured the hearts of many. The viral photo shows Sergeant Precious Cornner-Jones laying on the floor with the little one at a "high five" rally at Indianapolis Public School 88 after the young boy fell on the floor. Cornner-Jones told InsideEdition.com that she noticed the boy was having a bad day when she was greeting the kids at the event that she attended in support of her pastor. “The little boy came through the line and he just had this look on his face and he wasn’t in a good mood,” Cornner-Jones said. Cornner-Jones said she saw his mother nearby and they made eye contact. She picked the boy up and said, “Hey Buddy, What’s up?” But, when she put him down he fell to the ground. According to Cornner- Jones, his mom said he has been expressing himself that way recently. So, she layed on the floor with him and asked him what was wrong. Cornner-Jones said the boy shed a few tears, but she let him know that whatever was wrong it would be okay, and then wiped his tears. By the time the encounter ended and the boy got up, he was reportedly grinning. “I just wanted him to feel love in that moment. It was a mommy moment really,” said Cornner-Jones who has three children of her own. The boy’s mom later gave Cornner-Jones a hug and told her thank you. The photo quickly went viral when Cornner-Jones posted it to her Facebook. “Out of all of this I just want everyone to see that it’s about spreading love and changing the narrative between the community and police officers... just getting down on people’s level," said Cornner-Jones. EvilMetahuman:I'm telling you. I'm just helping to cry for Etisalat here |
Someone should go and tell Etisalat that no matter how they try no one will call them 9mobile, they can go and ask NEPA. There are many other companies they can ask too. Imagine going to 10 recharge card shops and telling the seller that he should give you "9mobile N200" recharge card only to hear "You say Etisalat how much?" would you continue calling it 9mobile? Since the foundation of our dear country, Nigeria that has been struggling for change, some things cannot just change. Below are some companies in Nigeria that can tell Etisalat how it works over here. NEPA NEPA "Never Expect Power Always" (NEPA), "No Electrical Power at All; Please Light Candle" (NEPA plc), switched to "Please Hold a Candle Now" (PHCN) following the 2013 divestiture of the federal government from PHCN, the company was divided into separate companies or entities called Local Electric Distribution Companies or Local Distribution Companies (LDC). Each company will be responsible for handling electricity distribution in each state or region. Since all these changes, no one has called them what they are, LDC is still NEPA. OMO OMO was first registered in the United Kingdom in 1908 and launched in Africa in 1953 (before many othere detergents) making it the oldest laundry powder brand in the country. The acronym OMO which is a household name stands for “Old Mother Owl”. But then came Ariel, Waw, So Klin, Sunlight, Elephant, Miss Bimbo, etc. All of them are "OMO" asked your neighbors, lol. JIK Peroxide bleach was introduced in the 1950s. The first to arrive in Nigeria was JIK, was it? Then came Hypo another one is what I don't have in mind but Hypo took his father's name. Almost unurprisingly, some market women think they’re still selling JIK o! INDOMIE Indomie is a brand of instant noodle by Indofood Indomie. Indomie is produced in many countries, also it is has been produced in Nigeria since 1995 where it is a popular brand and has the largest instant noodle manufacturing plant in Africa. Indomie's offsprings; Tummy-Tummy, Dangote, Chikki, Mimee, Honeywell, Golden Penny, and Dangote took the name of their grandfather. COWBELL MILK (Promasidor) Founded in 1979 by Robert Rose, who left the United Kingdom in 1957 for Zimbabwe to pursue his African dream. Cowbell was the first milk powder distributed across the vast African continent, providing access to affordable milk to everyone in Africa. Today Cowbell is sold in the majority of countries across the African continent. Since heaven knows when, Nigerians refused to call Peak, Dano, Lahdah, Nestlé and Dangote their real names. GALA SAUSAGE ROLL Gala sausage roll is the mother of all sausage rolls in Nigeria. Everyone took Gala's surname. MAGGI STOCK CUBE What seems to be the bus stop of all seasonings. Maggi has been my mom's favorite seasoning since I was born and I guess it's your mom's too. But then surfaced Royco, Knorr, Onga and the rest of them. I'm not a kitchen guy, you know.Sorry Etisalat, your baptism is null and void. Which other companies did I miss out? Comment the names for us! UPDATED: 05-08-17. Thanks to sweet Nairalanders who commented Source: http://www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/08/etisalat-never-called-9mobile-nigeria.html?m=1

Trystan Reese from Portland, Oregon a transgender man has welcome a baby boy with his partner Biff Chaplow after seven years of their union. Trystan Reese quit his hormone therapy when he got pregnant and has now delivered a bouncing baby boy whom he named Leo. Trystan Reese, 34, was born a girl, but started taking hormones almost a decade ago. He had lost the hope of bearing his own children after multiple miscarriages. Leo will now join the couples already adopted two children. “I would say it’s unique. I understand that people are not used to two men having a biological child,” Mr Reese told Fox News. Biff described the moment as a ‘pure moment of bliss’. Mr Chaplow added: “The moment he was born was just like a pure moment of bliss, like the happiest moment of my life. To see the very beginning of Leo, of his life, was just like amazing.” Source: http://www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/08/transgender-man-delivers-baby-boy.html?m=1

This is a viral video of the name all 21st century Foxx internet users in Nigeria must have heard, the most talented female painter of the year, Mary Ogochukwu Nwele doing that which most people have doubted she cannot. In a Mary Ogochukwu's interview with johnkingsblog http://www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/07/interview-mary-ogochukwu-nwele.html?m=1, she revealed that she would post a video of her painting something maybe according to the choice of her fans or something. But before that, she gave her anxious audience something to ponder on. Something she called a 'Rough Sketch'. At first, I couldn't see anything on the cardboard sheet, it was just as if she was trying to mark out somethings. Suddenly what seemed to me like Bob Marley's face started appearing. I was there actually, behind the camera as she drew a 9mins, 22seconds of Bob Marley wearing a Jamaican head warmer. Video below: https://youtu.be/oB0lGEEt34A If you want to read her interview, you may want to go http://www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/07/interview-mary-ogochukwu-nwele.html?m=1

An interview with the genius female painter Mary Ogochukwu Nwele who's outstanding works of art from another dimension of the planet upset the stability of the internet last week and the week before. First it was too real to be real. I traveled to Awka during the weekend to visit my cousin student doctor at Amaku and eventually I saw her... by mistake! I was on an evening stroll with my brother when he pointed at her shop and said, "Know that lady painter trending online for her paintings? That's her shop". Immediately I sighted Emmanuella's potrait infront of her shop, I knew I wasn't hallucinating because I already wanted to deceive myself with that. You know that feeling of the unexpected right? Like when you see Rihanna in your village market? Wake up dude! You're already dreaming. I postponed my stay, came up with some interview questions with the help of my cousin for her and prayed she'll give me a listening ear. In hours, we were done. The next day, a few minutes after 3pm, we entered her shop and met her busy painting the Knight in red that I'll share his pictures. We let her know our purpose for the visit and she said "Yea, cool!". I had subdivided the whole questions into 5 sections. 1. Abstract questions 2. Role Specific Questions 3. Situational and Operational Questions 4. Behavioral Questions 5. The Video! ABSTRACT QUESTIONS Q. Are you aware that you have been an online trend for almost 2 weeks now? A. Sure, i'm aware of that. Q. I read that you posted the pictures of your work on your Instagram page. A. Yes, I posted it on my Instagram page. Q. Where else did you post the pictures? A. On Facebook, those are the two places I posted my works; Instagram and Facebook. Q. Did you ask any blogger to post it on his blog? A. I don't think I have ever asked anyone to post my work online, though people tell me that they will post my work on Instagram and Facebook. John-King: I read that the pictures were culled from your Instagram page. I saw it on many websites. Some bloggers even posted it yesterday. Mary: Even up till now! Q. Are you a Nairalander? A. Yes, but I registered recently. Q. Someone commented on Nairaland that he would not believe until he sees a video of you actually doing a work. Did you come across that? A. Yes, I saw it. Q. What did you think? A. Mmm, of course many people doubt I'm the one that do all these because I'm a lady. So, some of them are anxious to know whether this girl can actually do this. Some are even waiting for me to post a video of me painting, which I will do later. Q. Is your painting ability a developed talent or an acquired skill? A. I acquired many skills in painting. It's also a talent; God's gift. God created us in his own image and likeness, making him the first ever artist. Artists are born and artists are made. You're an artists too (referring to me), or don't you believe it? Me: I will believe it because it sounds convincing. Q. At what age did you discover your talent? A. 8 years. Then I was either in Jss2 or Jss1. Q. Can you remember any of your first drawings that made you start thinking "Maybe it's my call?" A. We do assignments then that involved drawing and I may be the best out of the rest. At a time, when I look at things, my spirit will ask me if I knew I can draw that? Initially, I overlooked those inner words. One day, I was holding 2face's album CD pack and I heard those words again. I said "of course, I can do it". Immediately, I picked up my pen and made a sketch of his face which looked like him instantly. I showed my mom and she didn’t believe; everyone in the house doubted me. I now told my dad that I would draw him and after I drew him, they all believed. My later drawings were the Big Brother Africa housemates, likely 2008. I got their pictures from the Newspaper. I sold everything! I later drew P.square from their album CD pack too. Q. Was it your dream as a little girl to become an entrepreneur in artistry? A. Initially, I didn't think of that. When I was in secondary school, my classmates would say that I'm wasting my talent in school. They said they wouldn't be in school if they were me, they'd just stay at home, draw and make their money. I never thought of studying art in the university. I couldn't do without drawing at home or school. Drawing became a passion. I wanted to study law but then I thought of how I would be drawing in a law lecture hall. People, my family discouraged me though but I encouraged myself. Some of them said, "why not tryout another course since you know how to draw already so that you have two things altogether" Q. Did you collect money from your classmates in any level of your education to draw for them? A. Of course, like I told you, I sold almost all my small drawings. I can remember I charged a girl N500 for a drawing. Q. How much was the least? A. N500. For small pictures, prices were between N300 and N400. Q. What would you do if you were not a painter? A. If I were not a painter, I would be a graphic artist. Q. Do you have any degrees in art? A. My first degree. Q. Which institution? A. Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka (UNIZIK). ROLE SPECIFIC QUESTIONS Q. For how long have you been working as a painter? More from the source: www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/07/interview-mary-ogochukwu-nwele.html?m=1

Not until I came across this one, I thought the flooding at Lekki, Lagos State was the worst of it all since crocodiles crept upon the road, fishes were harvested too, swimming pools seen in cars, jacuzzi in the parlor. But this one that happened in India yesterday is NOT funny. Approx. 600 people have died in floods and landslides across the country this year. In the photos below; A man is seen using a makeshift raft to move out of a flooded neighborhood after heavy rains in Ahmedabad. People paddled their boats as they try to move to safer places along a flooded street in West Midnapore district, in the eastern state of West Bengal. People watch after a bridge on the Deesa Dhanera highway was washed away in monsoon floods in Gujarat. NETWORK CAN'T ALLOW PHOTOS TO UPLOAD, IT'S IN THE SOURCE. Marty Duram, 45, was found shot to death in his Michigan home in 2015. A few weeks later, his parrot began squawking in voices that appeared to mimic an argument between Duram and his wife, Glenna. “Don’t f---ing shoot,” the bird screeched. Duram had been shot five times. His wife had been shot in the head. She claimed to remember nothing about the shootings. The parrot, named Bud, was sent to live with Duram’s ex-wife, Christina Keller, who was adamant that Bud had witnessed Glenna shooting Marty before turning the gun on herself in a failed suicide attempt. The bird’s ranting prompted speculation that Bud could somehow be called to testify, but prosecutors said that wouldn’t happen. And last week, she was convicted of first-degree murder after a Newaygo County jury deliberated for eight hours. Bud was also heard screaming, “No! No!” in a voice that resembled Marty’s, his ex-wife claimed. The bird will continue to live with Keller. Source: www.johnkingsblog.com/2017/07/parrot-testifies-in-murder-case.html?m=1 |

There was what seemed to be a drama of the century in a small Zambian village as a corpse in a coffin refused to be buried until it led villagers and it's undertakers to the house of an old man that killed it. An official with the Zambia Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hagra Tembo, shared the video on his Facebook wall. Tembo wrote: “A body refused to be buried until it took villagers to a house where the person behind the death of the deceased resides.” In the video, many villagers took different locations and angles from which they can capture the once-in-a-lifetime event, all surprised and the women shouting. The villagers were absolutely puzzled and shocked when undertakers were being controlled by the corpse who turned them round until it led them to its killer’s house. Superstitious villagers have been living in fear since a sheep gave birth to this creature that was said by elders to be half-human half-beast and 'sent by the devil'. Many of the 4,000 residents and farmers of Lady Frere in Eastern Province, South Africa , were convinced that bestiality and witchcraft had led to the birth of the creature. The panic got so great that the Eastern Cape Department of Rural Development sent out experts to carry out tests after pictures of it spread like wildfire through the community. First of all, for those that think I may be using this post to drive traffic to my blog. What am I doing with traffic? All I want is to give you genuine updates so that you know that there are many news online and only a few brings you the genuine ones to your doorstep. You'll at the end know if this is genuine or a hoax. jamb-seized-previously-released-results To me, JAMB is confused. That JAMB head, CEO or whatever deserves to be fired. Previously it was them reducing student JAMB scores and now this. I went to where I would change course for my senior brother to do change of course and institution for him. On reaching there, the guy was crying. I mean the guy registering JAMB because he wrote JAMB and scored 272 but I was shocked when he told me that JAMB released some seized results and seized some previously released ones.
