The calamity that befell Job in the bible is not as a result of tithing, but a test of his faith and his stand with God without his riches. To say that Job lost all his riches because he did not tithe is an illusion which can not stand because the the person that said it is quoting the bible out of context. If it is because of not tithing that he lost all his children and wealth, did he tithe at the end when the bible stated that the later days of Job is better than his beginning, meaning that all he lost, he got back double fold.
Please read your bibles and advice your so called teachers to teach kingdom's massage that will bring salvation to the people and not prosperity and quick syndrome to wealth

The scripture never said that those who don't tithe wouldn't attain wealth. Even scripture reports how wealthy a paganic Egypt was, how an horrible roman empire held power and influence. So Dangote having money isn't any eye opener.

However the concept of tithing law as stated by Malachi stated that the benefit of tithing was a "rebuke of the devourer". The devourer in biblically context often refer to the devil and his host of fallen angels. 'Devouring' as expressed by Malachi meant that what legitimately belongs to God's people could be destroyed by the devil without a God intervention if they refused to tithe.

Therefore Oyedepo made an inference that is potentially correct within the context of old testament. Job didn't tithe and God did not rebuke the devourer for his sake.

And what happen at the end, the bible stated that after the affliction of Job, that his later days is better than his beginning. Did he then tithe. So he quoted out of context because God allowed devil to test Job in order to test his faith and stand with God without the riches.
